Fun fact: There is actually a game just called "Yoshi" (known as "Mario & Yoshi" in PAL regions). It was on Game Boy and NES, and was a puzzle game where you trap creatures inside eggs to clear them from the screen. During development of the handheld version, one of the developers learned he was colourblind after jokingly referring to the gameplay of clearing screens of monsters as "Blue Harvest", thinking that the Gameboy's infamous monochrome screen was blue and black. This incidentally was the working title for the first Star Wars film.

My wife and me were JUST talking (literally yesterday) about how now one knows of or remembers Super Princess Peach, the game where peach saves the day with the power of her raging hormones. That is not a joke. In the game you can use the bottom screen to randomly switch Peach's "mood" to one of the stereotypical over the top emotions that men generally assign to women on their period, and use them to solve puzzles like raising the water level using the power of her incontrollable tears. It is, on consideration, one of the most offensive video games ever made. It's also really good.
