A go to depression meal of mine was the Hungry-Man Battered Chicken with Cheese Fries, add sliced pickled jalapenos and add whatever tangy sauce you prefer. Way better if you oven cook them but it's a depression meal not a casserole, and I'm not proud, but I'm open to admit this.

TV dinners were LUXURY to me as a kid. We rarely got them and it had me longing for them, I never got my fill. As an adult, learning that they are actually very inexpensive and considered low quality was very surprising.
