Great ideas! I just purchased a child-sized steel for my 7 year old nephew, whom I am going to show how to make fire the bushcraft way. He is very excited and eager to learn! Excellent video. For my part, I put the tinder in a blender to make tinder flakes. These flakes can also be dipped in saltpeter. Or wood ash. Congratulations again for this demonstration. 👍👍

Wow, Taro is back, and I'm so happy to see you! ;-) Thank you for sharing these ashes hacks, very useful, and I never thought or heard about that. Concerning using ashes for fire starting I had so far only the Ruediger Roll (the fire starting method invented by Rüdiger Nehberg, where you can/should add ashes to your raw fibres) in my mind. Ja mache ich sehr gerne, die Untertitel auf Deutsch einstellen sollte auch einigermassen gut funktionieren, ich habe Asche aus meinem letzten Lagerfeuer gesammelt und verwende diese als Katalysator, durch das Einreiben von Diestel-Samen, die Tramaschicht von Zunderpilz und ein Stück Baumwolle T-Shirt können diese ohne weitere Vorbehandlung, als Zunder für Feuerstein und Schlageisen funktionieren, bitte melde Dich gerne nochmal wenn das noch zu unklar ist, LG und danke fürs reinschauen, Taro
