@@Curt2500 Optimize Windows 10 or 11 lightly or heavily will not improve your in game performance on a mid-high end PCs. I've done a shit ton of optimizations since Win10 was released. You will maybe notice a difference on a low end systems but not by much. If you are an fps gamer then you did right optimizing mouse settings. Optimizing Windows is mostly for privacy and to remove annoying stuff.

Very nice video Brian covering Chris Titus’s debloating tool. 👍👍 I have, as many on here have, followed Chris Titus tech for sometime. I think he has done an amazing job with this application and I believe that he has as you mentioned, retooled the debloating application. Thanks for covering it Brian. I haven’t used it as of yet, however like you said, “one should be thinking about what they’re doing, “before,” just going through it (Willy-Nilly), and then to find out that perhaps they deleted something essential. I would back-up my system or create a restore point before proceeding. As always a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ presentation. Cheers mate 🍻🍻

I am irritated not knowing how much of my CPU time is consumed by spurious Telemetry, fair enough videos have been done for that & I will use those soon but what seems one of the worst offenders for gobbling CPU time is AV - Avast Free basically seems to DISABLE some of my older DC laptops (Win 8.1 i5 Desktop copes ok) for at least 10 minutes thru running what seems an ever increasing number of routines doing God knows what. Anyhoo thx for the continued advice and support Brian. I used to buy the Micro Mart mags 'til they went under some years ago - this channel fills that hole nicely!

However, personally, I am not that confident in using this tool because I don't understand a lot of the tweaks. It would be good to have a video on say the tweaks one can do like cleaning the registry etc etc using Windows itself.

Mmm, nah, I'm not making any more tweaks to my system anywhere. Last week, I bought a new wireless network adapter. The retailer 'recommended' it, so I bought it. It was an Archer TPLink T9UH. From day 1 it started randomly disconnecting, so, I looked on the web for possible fixes. Tweak after tweak failed to work, so, I boxed it back up, returned it and went back to my old one. For some odd reason, it refused to shut off when the PC was shutting down. Then I remembered that one of the suggested 'tweaks' was to disable the computer being able to power down USB ports. Once I changed that, the PC would shut down. I also bought a replacement extension cable, just in case that was the issue, and I think it was! Since swapping out the cable, the connection hasn't dropped out once. Basically, check all simple things before you go and complicate things!

What a coincidence that I've been looking at that tool for a while now and I've seriously considering running it since it looks like it includes many of the programs that I'm interested in. I recently had trouble with Quick Books Pro after putting off the recommended updates till I had mo more chances to do it. When I did, it wouldn't start the program anymore prompting me to call Intuit. After they played around with it, it's functional but not anything like a normal Windows 10 Pro machine should be as far as I can tell.The start button isn't opening the way I see it on other machines and I think that I'll spend some time with it before changing anything else. FYI, I followed your video on start button trouble shooting along with a couple of similar ones. They might have done a few tweeks causing these problems. I wish they didn't touch it! Chris was a hardcore Windows 7 lover when 10 was rammed down our throught! He's even been using Linux for 3 years and a Windows 7 server for a while. He needs to use Windows 10 for work but mostly uses Linux for himself says.

I've used that script before and it generally works pretty well for most things - sure beats doing it all manually. But I would caution against just running the script willy nilly. It's got buttons to individually disable windows features too so think about what you need first instead of running a complete de-bloat. Because it's going to disable OneDrive and if you rely on Apps that use it (backups, sticky notes, OneNote etc) you won't be able to use them. And the script won't re-enable it. I think I ended up having to reinstall it from the Microsoft store (and I can't remember but I think Microsoft store was also disabled). Although it does look like the scripts been updated a bit since the last time I ran it, so may have fixed some of this.

do you think you could do a video on group permissions/file ownership? Recently I got a BSOD and had to submit the Windows minidump file to a website so they could take a look at it but Windows wouldn't let me, saying I had to be an Admin to access the minidump file, but this is my PC that I built and I am Admin and I'm the only one that uses my PC. I had to go through this long process of changing ownership of the minidump file which could have been avoided if Windows would stop thinking that I'm not Admin. I've experienced this at other times too where I wanted to do something but Windows would say I'm not an Admin even though I am. I would love to just turn UAC off but I know that's not a good idea.

These things have their uses, and some programs can be very good and useful but if you don't know what you are doing, but the program sounds like it is something you need, leave it alone and read up about it until you know exactly what it does, unless you like reloading your entire OS back onto your system. I would not rely on the reset button getting you out of trouble, it may reset the last thing you did, but if you have gone past that mark and done something else that is risky, chances are, you are going to suffer.

Pointless tools which cost money are uncle carey’s windows 10 optimizer. The tool does nothing, but that is my opinion, no malice intended
@jonathanmaybury56982 жыл бұрын
@@Britec09No malice taken Brian, especially where uncle Carey's concerned. These things may be a quick fix now and then and you might think ooh! that's neat; but most of the time, the thing you thought was neet, you might only use once and then forget about it forever. Most of them are like that, in fact, when you come to finally reload the OS onto your computer, most of the time you don't even miss them. The only thing that I've found useful in the last few months, is the voice typing launcher, that you can use by pressing Win and H together. Apart from that, there's nothing new under the hood. As for Uncle Carey's win 10 optimizer, while that was certainly a laugh. To think you can get Krita and Libra Office for free. I can't see why people are selling things like Windows Office or PaintShop pro, it must be a snob thing, but I don't mind. if they hit the main stream someone would buy them out and sell them to the highest bidder, More for me I guess?

Maybe he should include something that will ask the user if they have backed up everything. If they answer "no", then give a strong warning to do so before continuing. And that he could warn that he cannot accept any responsibility for any the user may experience by using the software. Something like that in a strong but nice way.
