I did the same thing. I'll be rooting for choices and I didn't read the choices well so when he clicked Kate I was like, "YEAHHH," and the once we started freaking out over his choice my brain went to "Oh shit, no."

“Why did he spare her? Why did he give her the inhaler?” Personally, I think it’s because out of the entire group, she seemed like the most vulnerable/easiest kill. Thus, he wanted to have a little fun beforehand because from his perspective, he could kill her whenever he wished. That’s why if you “correct” his thinking and attack him when she’s cornered, he starts seeing her as a potential threat and straight out mirks her.

What i believe is that the Curator is actually death himself. He always says death is after inevitable. And then at the end he has said "we'll meet again. It's inevitable" He always talks in riddles and says how he's not allowed to interfere because what you do is the impactful part in the choices. And another thing I think the forces around him are because of the possible hints he gave to the story tellers

After paying close attention to the posture of the killer and the Curator, I did see some resemblances. Also the clothing is quite similar. When The Curator says goodbye he picks up the same type of hat, which belongs to Holmes. I'd say Mark saw his face, the Curator's face that is. Not sure if there's anything known about this, I completely get this from Jev's playthrough...

The killer always lets 1 survivor “escape” if they agree to pretend to be him and lure others in, like that black guy did. Once the fake du’met lures another group in, he is allowed to “escape”, but halfway through the real killer calls the ferry back with the chain and kills the survivor.

The girl was that black guy’s daughter, and she was killer. She was the second pair of small feet next to him when the cop found their dead bodies. The real killer killed them on the ferry and brought them back.

This man has killed over a hundred people, outsmarted you and your friends at almost every turn, seems to teleport and exhibits almost superhuman endurance and strength. Maybe he didn't survive? Maybe the devil truly escaped Holme's grave and keeps inspiring new people, suggesting someone else picks up the mask? Either way, i love this ending. Also, the worst ending of the game actually explains the whole thing going on with the other guy. He and his daughter are the last survivors of the previous group invited to the castle, and the killer forced him to lure a new wave of people here by threatening to kill his daughter. That's how the cycle works, same thing can happen to Mark and Kate if you kill everyone else early. You actually have the choice to do it or not, but even if you accept, the killer just reels back the boat thing and snipes them from shore XD

This definitely felt like one of the more “tamer” games that came out in this series. Was a little creepy at times, but nothing like the other ones, no big twist at the end, the killer wasn’t really that scary or intimidating I felt. It was a cool concept, and I enjoyed the story don’t get me wrong, but this one just definitely felt like it fell a little short compared to the others.

So far Ive watched Jev, XQC and Hollow play and I love with these games the play throughs can be so different. And "Mr. Du-met" is actually the father from the last group to visit the Murder Castle, his wife and brother were both killed and his daughter and him survived... Till the end. Maybe he worked with the Killer to lure the new team to the island thinking he could survive but ended up dying at the end.
