That cabin was just like some of the 18th century bedrooms I’ve seen…through photos and videos. Stunning. Like no longship I’ve ever seen. And that’s just a taste of what little I realize I know about the splendors of Venice. Doge’s Palace, as I now know it to be, is overwhelming in its intricacies and history. As is Venice, I never cease to stop gathering.

Wonderful to see the trip I just experienced in early ,and unfortunately a rather hot, August with on SS La Venezia by Uniworld…the only river cruise line for me! Slightly different order of excursions than I enjoyed , but such a unique blend of culture, history and views of the Venetian lagoon travellers can only experience from being on the water. Excellent filming ! Burano was one of my favourite trips. After choosing a “duck level” cabin on the Rhine , where being short made it difficult to see out, and which you call more elegantly “swan level” , I always go for a level higher, and was rewarded with breathtaking views all day on the Giudecca Canal while docking at San Basilio. You didn’t miss a thing, and hopefully others will realize just how special it is for Uniworld to have the ability to sail on the lagoon now.

The ports look wonderful. The ship interior definitively an acquired taste: but I could live with it for such a cruise. Must admit the cabin walls gave me nightmares. Food looked lovely.

I was in Venice years ago on their Festival of the Redeemer (Festa del Redentore). The fireworks were outstanding! The UniWorld cruise is intriguing.

Beautiful video as always. Love Venice, although challenging with Mum in a wheelchair! We like to stay for 3-4 days as Venice is so lovely in the early mornings and at night.

We were there in July and it was as busy as usual at that time of year. But it was also a heat wave so maybe it looked quieter because people were avoiding the heat 🤷
