How do you find the lens with splashes or droplets after coming out of the water ? Thanks guys, great watching as usual 👍

It happens occasionally, but 9 times out of ten its clean. If you have a drip tilt the camera down and it should get blown off, it not just dip it in and out of the water again.

@@svfairisle Will do , I had it running and hovering with out any issues to run down the battery before I put it away on the boat , didnt even calibrate it . Seemed to fly steady 5 feet of the ground . But I will let you know once i get it up and in the air.

Steve, we are not all cameramen, ND's? I presume some grey filters. Nice piece of kit though, and difficult to lose I suppose.

Yes sorry, ND’s = neutral density filters. If you don’t use them in bright conditions then these cameras will crank up the shutter speed to get the exposure right and that’s a very bad thing for and shot that’s moving and not static

Hi Steve. It looks great and we have a need for a new drone for our main channel and our YOUR DRONE TV. Our Mavic mini 2 combo is suffering the battery swelling issue. But, we have to say the software and firmware have been stable and there has been no glitches. The down side is we can buy 3 of the latest DJI 3's combo kits and still have 3 extra batteries for the cost of one swell-Pro. We assume its well over the 250g small drone limit for licencing in most places? Have yo run into any issues with licencing? Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid

I fly below the radar! No seriously it obviously could be an issue in some places but we only ever use this drone at sea so I don’t see it being a problem. You’re right about the cost of course, but I’ve lost 4 none waterproof drones so maybe not! It certainly makes flying less stressful

I have been flying my splash drone +3 for 3 years now with great success, I worked hard to fork out the money to purchase it and I find it disappointing you rubbish the +3 drone in your reviews, I understand most of your drones and devices are gifted to you! Most common problems with +3 drone is pilot miss use from what I understand. Even the battery problems are overcome by jumping a charge to them so they will recover and recharge. The new +4 is not a better option. Firstly what’s the point of having a waterproof controller if the control screen is using a mobile phone? Secondly the fixed legs and new massively oversized carry box is not suitable for storage in most vessels. Perhaps in future just review the new features of the upgraded version rather than rubbishing the old models. In some cases the older models in my opinion can be more user friendly and reliable.

Well I paid full price for the SD3 and my opinion was it was a complete waste of my money. I can only give an honest opinion and that was what I found. I said in the piece, maybe I got a duff unit but I seriously doubt that. There were just so many faults with the unit. i've been building and flying drones for 20 years, from before they were available to purchase so I've got some experience with how drones should function and the 3 was a mess. I'm not adverse to using the bog standard LiPo batteries and know how to revive them, I think most people would much prefer the plug and play smart batteries though. My gripe with using them in the 3 was the effort it took to get them in and out, you have to undo the whole lid just to turn the thing on and off, it's a recipe for messing up the seal and getting water in there. Just one of the bad design features of the 3. I think the 4 has tackled all of those points really well. Yes you could say the box is a pain to store and it is much bigger than the old one but for me I prefer that over the hassle of having to putting the thing together every time I just ended up wanting to get a shot and knowing by the time I got the drone ready I would miss it. That bit is a personal choice in every other respect I would stand by the review that the 3 would get a 1/10 and the 4 is a 9/10.
