Had to remove some parts due to copyright claims and KZbin not allowing us to post it for some reason. It's definitely a sweet piece. Jason also has a full set of dumbbells and kb's that we had to cut out as well. Tried uploading 10 different times and this is the least we had to cut out.

@@Pler1978 silly marty, i was referring to the title of the video, not the guy in it.. if i truly cared, i'd also critique his box squat technique, but i dont "The ULTIMATE Westside Barbell GARAGE GYM" would at least have a hyper and inverse curl.. at the bare minimum.. and a shit ton more bands, sleds, etc louie/westside have far more machines/inventions/toys they utilize than these 2 (maximal recruiter, plyo swing, zercher harness, wheel barrels, sleds, that crazy weight releaser smitty machine, etc, etc).. and more bands.. and some more bands.. and bands there is nothing about this gym that screams westside.. call me whatever you want, just being honest.. no disrespect to the guy in the video, the critique is the title

@5:26 I am a little confused. If they touch the floor, you lose continuous tension, right? I know Brett and the Glute lab are great but I am confused

The size of the plates allow for a more consistent ROM and you have to try "find" where they touch - you go in to too much anterior pelvic tilt and lose TENSION on the glute complex.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense, if you want constant tension you would use smaller plates. . Seems to me a bar with 25 lb plates would give you more range of motion not oversized 45 s.

@@johnpage6583 smaller plates change the biomechanics of the movement. You'd have to try smaller vs. larger plates to see what I mean - the stress on the gluteal complex is different.

The purpose of the bigger plates is it makes it easier to slide under the bar in order to do barbell hip thrusts. The extra height of the plates allows space for a bar pad as well as accommodating people with bigger glutes/thighs.

Very informative. We are now in convid -19 area and here in the UK gyms are closed.Our basement gym is not hacking the use of eight men one young woman as well as us oldies,so we have plans and a tight budget.So this walk through is invaluable,however does everyone who owns a garage gym also a commercial gym owner?Just that we are novices when it comes to brands even though we have been working out 40+years.

Best stand alone weight tree that holds the most weight... Rogers athletics is prob it. 14 horn if I'm not mistaken. But I never see them used. Your next best bet is the flex fitness / star trac trees. They made them with 12 horns. Are prob more accessible via used market & hold 1000 lbs with ease. The flex tree is also smaller than cybex & precor trees. Nearly identical in size to hammer strength while holding more weight. Rogers would be top choice. Flex would be 2nd. I have a flex only bc I couldn't find a rogers tree used.

I’m looking in to start weightlifting. I’ve chosen my bar, rack, and plates but I don’t know how much of each plate I should get. I’m 15 and never touch a barbell in my life. Don't buy rogue plates if budget is an issue. Look on local but/sells and you will get .5/lb pricing or less depending on quality

By from local sporting good store if you want New, much cheaper. My area it's roughly $0.90 per lb. I'd start with 1 set 5 lb, 2 sets 10lb, and 2 sets 25lb. Worked for myself for the first 6 months. At that point start doing 45lb plates as you get stronger. I personally bought 1 set of 2.5lb plates to add a little on my last set.
