I didn’t watch the show I only saw people reviewing it, but from what I saw every time Caleb mentioned Aria he kept saying there’s no romantic feelings and he’s not pursuing anything romantically. It seemed platonic and like he was using their experience to go back and be with his person with what he learned from being there. He also said he’s going to remain respectful to his real relationship so he wasn’t going to cross boundaries. I never got flirty or lustful or romantically interested energy at all from him.

as someone with trauma similar to aria’s, i completely feel for her and it’s clear that scotty has done a lot of damage to her as a person. of course she’s going to fall for the first guy that’s a decent human being to her. scotty even plants the idea in her heard that no guy is ever going to want to be just friends with her. HOWEVER, it’s clear that caleb was never going to leave with anyone other than mariah. he was always going to choose mariah. i do think that caleb was exactly what aria needed in experience though because he showed her so much peace and how calm a relationship should be. and ALSO it’s wrong that mariah and nick were left without trial partners. it ruined both them and their original partner’s experience because they kept interrupting other people’s trial marriages! if there’s a next season, i hope they implement the no contact rule because it’s not fair to those who actually want to fully be involved in the trial marriage.

Great video as always! The one divergent opinion I have is that Vanessa “ought to” have communicated her leaving the show to producers and fellow cast mates before dipping. We already know based on the lawsuits and whistleblowing past participants that the show-runners don’t take the safety and wellbeing of cast mates seriously enough and it sounded like Nick’s behaviour was making her feel both emotionally and physically unsafe. Being around someone acting erratically in a small apartment with no way to communicate with the outside world must’ve been terrifying for Vanessa and I think we can all agree that it was entirely justified for her to walk out then and there. The lack of protections for show members is a serious concern and one that gets highlighted every season by at least one couple if not multiple couples.

During the show Aria implied they had an emotional connection that went a bit beyond platonic friendship, but Caleb NEVER acknowledged it even once, making her look a little crazy- like a broken woman who got a crush on the first guy who treated her right. Turns out they had crushes on each other, but neither wanted anything physical to happen and were mainly focusing on their partners (shown by Aria telling the men that she wasn't having sex w/ them from jump during the dates). Caleb didn't say anything about it until the reunion, which is kinda wild given Aria was honest the whole time and Mariah asked to clarification more than a few times and he just totally denied having any kind of romantic feelings for Aria at all.

Imagine someone you met ONE day ago and you have to have a living situation with them and you see that they’re heavily drinking or possibly taking other substances, I would book it out of there so freaking fast! Caleb also admitted to being into her during the reunion and not owning up to it earlier, which only adds more weight to what she is saying. I like Caleb; he is a healthy partner in general terms. Mariah is as well. At the end of the day, they chose each other, and I can see the love is there. However, I also see that there are some things they haven’t fully grown out of, particularly when it comes to keeping things from each other. I hope this event with Aria gives them the opportunity to address difficult subjects as a couple because it’s not okay to be engaged and still like other girls’ stories.... especially when you know your spouse feels uncomfortable and anxious about your continued interactions with the person you had a trial marriage with.
