That XIAOMI lamp you can change color temperature, press down the power button and rotate. Also the yeelight app can also control this lamp, cus its made by yeelight. Also after you register yeelight app you can turn on and off with google asistant. Also idk if it makes you feel better MI home appp on IOS doesnt require extra permission. Iv owned this lamp for years and they do update the firmware on the lamp once in a while.

Yeelight all also has way less rights. The Mi home app Ist literally for like 50+ xiaomi smart home products and thus needs all those rights. Best thing about the app is that you can use it with IFTT/Google Assistant/Alexa but also you can set timers to wake you up. It's so much better getting woken up by light than with a tone

I also have a laptop setup with a desktop screen and I don't dock my laptop. The reason being a second screen is improving my productivity, especially as a non-native speaker 'working' in academia. On the 27' screen I can have two documents open comfortably and on the laptop 17' screen I can have my dictionary, database or notebook software whatever. It's more comfortable than a single screen, and I think that's the advantage of a laptop setup. (Also when you have a second screen working with Photoshop you can view your other photos while developing one, which is really convenient.)
