In 2014 Manuel Neuer had won the WC with Germany (First European team to ever do it South America), had won the golden glove, had kept a clean sheet against Argentina + Portugal, was German footballer of the year, and had completely revolutionized his position on the world's biggest stage. This still wasn't enough for him to even finish SECOND. No disrespect to Vini, he's a great player, but when something like that happens to him then let me know. The Ballon d'Or has always been BS. Generally, it's a popularity contest favouring attacking players.

Neymar never winning it while Vini is probably getting it doesn't seem fair but today's world class players don't even come close (in my eyes at lesst) to what Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar were, for example

Bro that’s a very good list, but honestly for accolades you could’ve done a better system ranking than what you did for example you could’ve given more points to more competitive leagues and to fix the problem at 16:31 and idk why you chose to compare players from the eye test list since it’s the most biased list, I would’ve simply done a system of points to determine the standing of players the same way you did with the stats and all that. All in all very good list and it’s probably the least biased one I’ve seen.

Vini didnt deserve imo. And im brazilian. He cannot be the best player in the world and COMPLETELY GHOST EVERY SINGLE GAME in national team. I agree that Rodri didnt deserve it too, but it is UNREASONABLE to say vini had a Ballon Dor season with the national team performance. To me Rodrygo was more of a Contender than him. I dont care that "he plays well on Real Madrid", almost every player played well on Real Madrid, and the ones who dont, usually are because they have problems with the coaches. It is way easier to have the season of your carrer with Kross and Modric giving you support. By himself, Vini is overrated Af. and that's what national team shows us. For the accolades, i think it should be you get a certain number of points for the throphy/induvidal achivement you get. This does give bias to strikers and wingers who are likely to have more personal accolades but i beilieve it reflects the realistic ballon d'or rankings. I get that its supposed to be unbiased but I do think this is the best way to do it yk

One thing i wanna ask when comparing domestically do you also average the point system based on the difficulty of the league. Like 91 points in the prem is wayyyyy more impressive than 91 points in ligue 1 if ur psg or any of the top teams bcs the quality is generally lower. Love this vid btw

Everything you said in the beginning makes sense. If you won everything and contributed a lot to win those achievements you should be the winner or considered for winner. It’s not just about goals. In that case it should be the goal D’ or and each position should have its own reward. The Ballon d or is for the best player and if you have the trophies go back it up why not have a RB as a winner or CDM OR GK?
