@@ElectricLegend14 Great conclusion! However i would like to say this is a "double-edged sword". With this same reasoning, you can also come to the conclusion that nothing matters, if you do not value anything for the reason that you know, that regardless whatever you do,feel, make others feel, do, believe, none of this will stay with you, you will not see your own effect on others or on the world, and you will return to the "nothingness" you once came from, with the possibility, that you will die regretting it all. ( Unless of course you believe/think of it otherwise) And of course, i have to admit, this could get you in a loop of hope and despair, because both of these views of what is important can be true, however only you decide how you want to look at things

Something greater to strive for. My own little legacy that I built. My own little castle that not everyone may love, but something I put my heart and soul into. Something that, yes allows me to ignore questioning the purpose of life, but by giving it a purpose I truly feel is deeper than death. I’m so happy I figured this out sooner rather than later. This is why so many men have admitted to crying while watching Blade Runner 2049. I know I did. We’re led to believe Agent K (Ryan Gosling) is special; the son of replicants Rachael and Deckard, yet human. However, K realizes he’s not special, but merely yet another replicant created by the Tyrell Corporation. The memory of the wooden horse implanted by the daughter of Deckard and Rachael. Ergo: we all want to believe we’re special, but in most cases it simply isn’t true. We’re just a cluster of decaying cells.

@CS-zn4bu art is subjective, but when people say either Blade Runner is boring I don’t disagree or try and argue with them. I’m a huge fan of both films, but even I can admit they are slowly paced to where I get it if people don’t like them. Having said that, we’re also living in the era of KZbin Shorts and TikTok, which have trained people to not appreciate the nuances of character development and a plot taking its time. That’s not a subtle attack on you, at all. Reminds me of a college course I took, called Children & Media. We evaluated a study involving children who watched SpongeBob SquarePants, and how fast-paced cartoons like it can hinder abstract thinking, short-term memory, and impulse control. Even if it’s only watched for a few minutes. Unfortunately, TikTok and a good chunk of social media are no different.

Always remember that the stuff you are "supposed" to do to look successful is all made up by other people and that stuff doesn't really matter. What matters is what is important to YOU. As long as you don't hurt anyone else, live the way YOU want. Maybe it sounds a bit selfish, but that way the chances are that you feel Ok about your life, thus making you a better person and possibly an inspiration to others. Which itself is a valuable thing. It's very easy to feel bad about your own life as we are constantly advertised how great and awesome our life should be; owning this much money and looking the best we can; having hundreds of friends and an important career. You saying this undermines our gift, sentience. Our basic ability to interact with our environment, learn from it and make meaning of it, there is no definitive truth to life because life itself is you. We are the only or at least one of the few organisms that get to make choices and that aren’t solely based on our biological impulses. And so with that one gets to choose what everything they’ve done and is doing means to them, we shape how we idealize, how we value and perceive our environment and we decide what it all means to us, our universe is relative to us, and it’s beautiful, I’m glad to be human.

One of my favorite song lyrics before I got saved were "And if a God's looking down we'll give them something to lose." The world I live in is magical now. I'm free. Im not hallucinating. It's not confirmation bias. I don;t have cognitive dissonance. Fellow Christians share amazing stories actual physical signs that God shows them. My aunt has a picture of a tree near her church. Right on the property line to the church there is a tree. There was a satanic priest that was preacing next to the tree bothering them for months. The tree fully grew its leaves right on the property line on the church side. It died on the satanic priests side. I have so many more stories like that one. It's not mythology. Just go give a homeless person 20 bucks and talk to them one day and see what happens to your life. Best wishes.

It's easy for me to be kind because that is how I am wired. I couldn't care less about status, or wealth. Society seems obsessed with show. It is all about looking rich. I focus on experiences I can have with loved ones. New discoveries and the mysteries of this existence excite me and I can spend hours coming up with possibilities of what all "this" is or may be. I find it funny that the message is "we need to accept death so we can be nice to each other". For me, that's the opposite. I see so many people partying and gaming because the world is doomed, and they think they are going to die soon anyways. So they do many reckless things, and assume that it'll make them happy. Problem is, that's only short-term happiness, and just makes the negative feelings stronger because they aren't confronting and dealing with them. I pretend like I'm going to live forever ('course not true, but resting makes time feel like forever. In death I can be the fool who acted like they could live forever), and I find it a lot easier to want to improve things around me since I'm gonna be around for a while. May as well make myself as strong & smart as much as possible so I can improve my surroundings, and help those around me. Some people get older, but I feel like I get younger as time goes on. I felt my oldest at 19 when I wasn't able to run. Now I'm 35 feeling younger than I ever have in my life, and I've started building muscles so I'm much stronger than ever before, and enjoying learning about psychology, among other things. Also sorry, I'll pass on the coffee. Things go bad in life when I have too much caffeine 'cuz lack of sleep and causes irritability. Trying to cut it out of my life again. It gets easier every time = )
@Vanduo6103 ай бұрын
Gaming, etc. is not about feeling happiness but no stress.
@keeshuunedited56783 ай бұрын
@@Vanduo610 I used to think that back in my severe anxiety days, where it was a struggle to just go outside the house due to muscle cramps and difficulties breathing kind of bad. Though I've gotten that after I did exposure therapy the correct way. Now if I want to reduce stress, I need to set aside time to meditate/do nearly nothing for a bit of time to let my mind process things. When you've been stressed out, the brain will fill the nothingness with tons of thoughts you've been drowning out with activities. Eventually, doing this enough and the brain will process all of those thoughts, and you'll get to be relaxed and start to enjoy the little things in life, and be happy just existing for the moment. Took me months to get to that point though, 'cuz ya know, grew up with the mentality of "just try harder, ignore emotions, only focus on doing more" sooo essentially 2 decades of negative emotions built up since I was never taught emotional regulation techniques and such. So my brain was screaming at me for quite a while when I first started. Though if I can go from basically agoraphobic, to just chillin with a smile wherever I go, I feel other people can too. 'course, if you've never done meditating before and got a bunch of negative emotions built up it can be intense. I've heard some people cry when they first start out, but then later on feel so much happier. That said, this is my experience. Everyone's minds are incredibly complex in their own ways, so I suggest getting other perspectives, maybe therapy if you can get it, and doing a lot of introspection to solve problems so it's easier to keep a calm mind. Start off with solving one problem a day (can't do all problems in one day after all!), even if it's small and write it down so your brain remembers you are actually progressing in life. More problems you solve, less things there will be to stress you, and new problems that arise won't stress you as much as you've solved so many in the past. Earlier this year I realized a good chunk of games cause stress. Not all of them, but if you're doing something, your mind is going to distracted by that thing, so it can't process your thoughts. Most games want to be as fun as possible, thus most games will overload the brain with fun time signals, so the brain can't process all the negative thoughts. Also games want all the time from you as possible, and there's diminishing returns with that since you get desensitized overtime as it becomes your new base line for what is "acceptable" (remember to slowly push out your comfort zones, or be have every shrinking comfort zones until everything is too much). By the 8th hour of playing in the day, most people generally turn into zombies trying to grind out whatever is in the game. Quality hours > quantity of hours. Not saying you can't play video games, I love the heck out of fighting games, and then just playing any game that gives a new experience that hasn't been done a million times in the past. Just save some time in the day to let the mind rest for a bit, and then the video games become even more fun and memorable. Games should be more than stress reducers, I wish you have more fun in the future! = )

I think about death at least 5 times everyday from the moment I woke up. It’s how I’m able to enjoy my life. It’s the only thing that gives life meaning. Even the meaning and purpose that we create in life is still meaningless. Humans are such an insignificant, insecure, jealous, deluded, ignorant and vulnerable species that live in fear. Everything we do is out of fear. Relationships are two insecure individuals that use and tolerate each other for their own selfish needs and wants all for the fear of being alone. This is not love and this is no way to live but most and many do out of fear. Tomorrow is not promised. Tomorrow does not exist. Now is all we have. In the end nothing matters. We are all on the same sinking boat that inevitably ends in tragedy. Drop the ego and character that you are playing and live. We are just memories and memories are just brain tissue. When the brain dies consciousness dies and we will cease to exist. The truth about the human condition is that answers will never cure our fears, only acceptance will. It’s all about killing time until you die. Smile, your alive

The cost of healthcare is a crime against our people. I am paying $500 a per month, but they mail me a $498 check every month. I was told that I can use it to pay for my prescription or the insurance (so i have to choose between paying for my prescription and my health insurance with that money). On top of that, I have to pay up to $3500 every year at the doctor before they can help me pay the medical bill. Companies that pay higher than minimum wage require a bachelor degree, and to get this piece of paper, we are required to be in a debt that you can't file for bankruptcy. At top of that, because there are so few places that pay higher than minimum wage, we have to compete with those in our class and the upper middle class. Those who lack experiences (this is a catch 22 situations with many people. especially the young ones) will not be hired. Our savings for retirement is also in danger. That made me actually cry because you have to tell yourself this "to get through this thing called life," to borrow Prince's song lyrics for a moment there. But it's sometimes hard to believe it when your inner voice is the only one saying that. And often people want to put you down and try to make you doubt yourself for their own messed up reasons. It's nice to hear it from outside yourself. That you matter, and your daily struggle to be a good person and citizen as you age matters as you get ever closer to that mystery called death. I've never personally been afraid of death, it seems actually like the ceasing of having to deal with all the shit. So what's there to be afraid of? It's harder to live each day than to die. But I really hate losing those I love to it. It's incredibly hard to live through that. This truly was an excellent video.

Such an oversimplification of the point in this video. There's no *imposed* purpose, but direction is established by purpose. You want to get from A to B, that's your purpose, and then your choices from that moment on are measured by whether they're taking you closer to B, or farther from it, or whether you're just orbiting, treading water, etc. Arriving at B is how you know you succeeded in your purpose. Not arriving means you're still on the journey, or that you've abandoned that goal in favor of another. But then... the other goal now establishes your purpose. To not have a purpose... a goal... a way to measure whether your actions (or inactions) are getting you closer to what you're aiming for... is to live an aimless life... to have no goal... no purpose... And that dovetails into the point in the video: legacy is more important than indulgence, hence, *legacy* becomes your purpose.

I'm 40 now. According to the average life expectancy, I still have 30 to 40 years ahead of me. Maybe even less. 30 to 40 years corresponding to around 10,000 to 15,000 days. I stupidly calculated that by accident and it's been stressing me out ever since because I think it's ridiculously little. Even a long life, let's say 100 years, is only 36,500 days. If people answer that you could die tomorrow from a car accident or something like that, nothing is guaranteed, then that doesn't do me any good, because what stresses me out is not that I COULD die tomorrow or in two weeks, but what stresses me out is that I will die in 15,000 GUARANTEED to be dead in only "a few days". Many people think that's a lot, I think it's ridiculously little and unfortunately it leads me to think that almost every project that could be tackled is of no use, I'll die soon anyway so I might as well do nothing at all.
