I love the straight forward honesty you bring simon. I have re-worked my bag with second hand bargains. Lets face it the major brands are marketing companies that pray on the must have rich brand snobs! I watched a you tube comparison of one brands drivers from 2010 to current day model. 2013 came a very close second to 2021! 2013 in my bag for £75. Keep the content coming.

I really like the original cbx wedges a really good powerful wedge. Did lack feel and control but thats what you would expect from a cavity wedge. Fitted into a set of forgiving irons realy well without big gaps.
@jephfandingo14383 жыл бұрын
I got the CBX2's and I feel like I'm getting a LITTLE more feel with practice, but yeah it's like, if you don't go cavity wedge, you get more short game feel, but less ease with longer wedge shots. I need the help with longer wedge shots, so it was worth less short game feel.
@poseikipproductions35473 жыл бұрын
@@jephfandingo1438 agreed for sure, hence I play a mixed wedge set. 50 and 54 in Cleveland CBX that I can play for anywhere from 60-120 yards and then have a Taylormade Hi-Toe for the feel shots. Not to say I’m the best player and it matters too much, but I will say a stock 54 goes 100-105 on the money and having the confidence I can hit an approach shot straight from there is absolutely worth the lack of feel

As a Vokey Wedge user they have recently saved my bad shots and put me in a position to birdie or par the holes with confidence. I get better and better with them, and I can count on them when I pull them out of the bag to save my bad shots.

I always liked the short game, and got a 60 PM grind early on. It was awesome! I liked it so much I bought the company.. well at least got myself fitted for some 50 and 56 Mack Daddy forged wedges, so that I had a "proper" set of wedges. I Love them to bits, BUT.... I've found it hard to bed them in. Rather than having a single wedge I used almost everywhere, I now have 3 wedges, all wanting to be used, and all telling my head different stories, and I'm not at all sure that I'm better off for it.

Recently bought CBX2 wedges w/zip grooves (same as rtx4) for about $30. Also a Ping glide tour 50 ($29) and a new Cobra 50 for $15. All were in like new or new condition and grooves. The mac daddy wedges seem to get crazy prices, can't get Edel at reasonable price either. I like V grind soles w heel relief. Experimenting with Cleveland DSG and some lower bounce options as well. Like the look of the full face PM wedges. Why not save a ton on gear! Spend 90% of practice on the wedge game.

Cleveland are quality forgings, owned by Srixon who are up there with Mizuno from a forging perspective. On that note I think Mizuno wedges are massively underrated - why would their wedges be any less well made than their irons? Check out the S18 for a good deal on a Mizuno wedge. You might even get a T20 now the T22 is out.

Love your videos, keep it up. An unrelated question to wedges if I may. I bought a cobra baffler XL 4 22deg hybrid recommended in one of your videos. It’s my 200yrd safe club off the tee, 190 from the fairway. My driver averages around 250-260. I don’t have any woods in the bag, what would you recommend? I’m thinking 3 wood even though you don’t normally recommend them…

I'm left handed so my options arn't so big, I would get the Costco ones if I could as I think they seem like great bang for buck but I can't, I'm thinking of getting some Caley wedges £199 for the set but 10% off first order so £180 I don't think it's too bad but I can't find any videos on the wedges. I do need lessons though as my short game is aweful

I play with a ping 58° glide 2.0 stealth ss 60$ - best feeling wedge for me anyways. I also have a 54° Mizuno T7 35$ - love this club just works well and is close 2nd to the ping , just solid wedge all around in my opinion. Have a Cleveland RTX 48° for 45$ - great club as well tbh , it's a older model Also have TM HighToe 52° about 60 $ - hardest to hit for me , looks great but more of a better player wedge in my opinion , I think it's more of a set up problem at address for me with it cause I have problems hitting it consistently. Grips also can play a factor in a bunch with feel and like with wedges , I like mid size grips for my wedges and soft sticky grips can go a long way in making a better wedge for its owner. Next up its SM 6 7 or 8 I will buy to try out and will keep grabbing the glide 2.0 cause I personally love it and will not shy away from any Mizuno T series , just can't go wrong. Maybe even a Callaway someday too cause why not. God Bless All.

I don’t disagree with this channel often but I recently went from MiM to an RTX to a SM9. Wedges were the weakest part of my game. I have had a significant increase in strokes gained. I use arccos to my stats are not just a feeling. My dispersion is so much tighter. I can generate far more stopping power, green side especially. This may not be the case for someone else but I can’t argue with the results. I’ll likely never ply another wedge than a new Vokey. MiM was the worst wedge I have ever played in my life. I’ve tried just about every wedge.
