I wish Bard decks had to work a little more on the card draw in order to get the chimes. Maybe if Byrd and Estus put a chime on the top 3 cards instead. Or the origin passive couldn't put a chime on the top 3 cards

Even if you change Byrd and Estus I only think it'll slow down the chimes by a little bit but not enough imo. I think changing the passive to shuffeling only 2 chimes and 3 if you behold Bard would help. I would also give Byrd the Omen Hawk treatment and make him a 1/1, that won't make him terrible but it will give his ability to come with a price.

I 1000% agree that Bard should be either removed or reworked as harsh as it sounds. The chime mechanic is really unhealthy for the game, and before bard it felt really rewarding to hit those high stat units with a deck built around starlit seer. Like what's the point of that card anymore when you can just slap in Bard and get 5x better stat results... ugh

All they have to do is change it from round start to round end and it’s pretty much fixed. It kills turn 2 chimes and severely lowers the chance of turn 2 and 3 chimes, and these are the most important ones because they can single handedly decide a match

Glutteny is (I believe) a better way to ensure getting the undying. With the cursed keeper and minion in the deck. Then you include the 7 7 crocodile card which you can summon with glutteny on the undying so its not a dead draw latter in the game. Just another take to reliably get the undying.

I'm surprised ya didn't combine The Undying with Hallowed, the extra power boost on The Undying may be enough to "speed up" the deck by forcing the enemy to block it before it grows much, while also giving you neat options for blocks with Strike Up The Band, Gwen can provide healing, and also maybe consider Rite of Dominance as a 1-of at least? It lets you use The Undying to essentially block everything vs swarm, and easily bop off spell shields, I think it could be played here.

Bard is a giant mistake of a champion. The chimes should not give +1/+1; their effect is dramatically outsized as compared to the other "traps" in the game. They should give EITHER +1/+0 or +0/+1 randomly. You're spot-on in your assessment of Bard pushing out all other midrange decks. The deck provides way too much free value, so you either need to outrace it or completely control it. There's no real way to efficiently trade on board against a Bard deck.

My problem with Bard and Kai’Sa is that they fall under the “do nothing and just wait to get stronger” mechanic but their snowball tipping point happens way too early. Kai’Sa of course has just way too many problems overall but it’s made worse by the fact that she and Bard turn midrange decks into aggro solitaire. We keep defending the devs by saying playtesting can only do so much but these two bring so much value to the table that it should’ve been obvious from the get go. If Riot wants to make more money from LoR, they don’t need to go through the usual CCG trick of overtuning new cards. Just make cosmetics based on popular cards! Or make cool and pretty cosmetics in general. Or how about don’t phase out previous cosmetics. Making players hate the game isn’t going to get you more money and long term followers.

Chimes should swap every time you get it. The first one should give +0/+1, the second +1/+0, the third +0/+1 and then the cycle continues. Still, it wouldnt stop the randomness, but at least it wouldnt be as strong in midgame.

I love Bard in league and everything about him except Bard deck in LoR. Chimes in LoR is so broken and badly designed. Riot need to nerf the amount of chimes player can hit by a lot since in league chimes don't spawn that frequently, why so much in runeterra.
