Hey guys, in this video I talk about the unfortunate downfall of Animal Crossing and how New Horizons kinda contributed to that downfall. This video breaks down in detail my thoughts on Animal Crossing: New Horizons and why I think it's not as groundbreaking as it's predecessor games. All the footage in this video is mine, unless stated otherwise in the video. (The trailers for the games of course belong to Nintendo)

Not to mention the drop off of players over time. There used be a big community, and the turnip exchange is basically useless

The only thing that botherse about animal crossing is that I can't change my name or the islands name.

I named my island "What Are U" because I didn't know I had to name it I wanted to change it months later

It feels like New Horizons can't decide whether it wants to be a life sim or a decorating game, and by trying to do both makes it worse. The life sim elements like waiting a day for buildings to be built/moved, collecting resources to craft the manual block by block terraforming make the decorating a chore. But the decorating and power given to the player really takes away from the life sim community feel the Animal Crossing games are known for, I love seeing the villagers being more interactive with items but their lack of personality and agency reduces them to props. I don't mind that villagers are less mean but I do mind that they lack personality and I have so little desire to talk or interact with them. There's so many other things, I do love the game, its gorgeous to look at, placing furniture outside is great I just don't get the urge as often to return to it like I did with the older games.

The game was number one for an entire year. It sold millions and had good dlc sales. Just because players left doesnt mean it wasnt a success.

i felt like the dlc gave me a lot more to do and was very worth it, i dont think its a downfall but theres only so much differntiation they can make on the same base game i hope the next one is miles better, i think they should introduce careers

I love New Horizons and it’s the first animal crossing game I really got into, but OH MY GOD are there some things that are just so annoying😭😭😭 My biggest complaint, I think, is the fact that you have to craft items individually, even when the item you’re crafting is stackable😞 I hate crafting fish bait, especially. It’s literally so boring and tedious and takes so long!!

Idk about you but I bought a second switch and made another island. I spent 6 hours last night farming bugs on a mystery island and had the time of my LIFE again

I just got this and started playing I like it so far. My big question is… can you unlock the games on your tv like you could in the GameCube version??

nope, you can't even unlock the console minigames from new leaf (wii u and 3ds)

I think it may see a resurgence. I myself have come back after 2 years. This time I am really enjoying the gameplay and making an island that really makes me happy vs aesthetic. I do agree that the villagers could have been a lot better. If I had to beg for any updates its more villager dialogue and for the love of God, let us craft more than one item at a time and allow us to customize at that time. 😢

I played the game once on a friend her switch and i was so bored. Walking around the island with no goal. It felt so pointless. I didn't understand what to do.

Pocket camp was the first animal crossing I played so you can imagine the disappointment of certain stuff in new horizon 😭
