The funny thing is, The sword _does_ have a laser. But it's tied to their stance mechanic, which I don't think the lads ever figured out was a thing. whoops!

Aegislash has a couple lasers. There's Flash Cannon, and the little blue laser it can shoot out.

this is painful to watch I love it. btw you can cancel out of Counter Attacks which helps with closing distance. you wanna guard and put in a direction at the same time while charging your Counter. should help with projectile spam :) it's useful cuz it lets you take hits without damaging you or your shield

THIS. THIS is how you deal with spam in this game. Unfortunately Chandelure's lasers can pierce counters, so you simply have to jump and avoid those, but things like Braixen's Fire Blast - counter shield, cancel dash forward, that's how you approach through that shit and shut her down. It's demoralizing getting hit by that move but *so* satisfying to get in through it.

The Pokken videos are some of my favorite videos here. To answer the shell question, it's with the shield button, which is usually the r button I believe Nearly Every character has a unique action with the r button in the air or after certain moves like Braixen and Blaziken having an air dash, Scizor and Decidueye having a controllable float, and Chandilure and Sceptile having a stay in the air movement. I also hope that in one of these they pick the same character just to see some of the stripes and color changes they did to the Pokemon

The funniest thing about Blastoise's shell stance is that you can enter it after almost every attack, including attacks from shell stance. So you can technically stay in the shell for an entire match. He won't even exit it during phase shifts as long as he doesn't get hit

Braixen, as someone who played the original but never played the new one, gives me PTSD. *Fire Blast is so hard to avoid when you don’t have that good tools to get in close.*

Counter Attack Dash Cancel (CA+R+direction) also the smaller part of fire blast has lower priority than the large part of it, so projectiles are a good idea

1:06 the reason why shadow mewtwo didn't deal any damage to machamp was because machamp did a counter attack which you can do by pressing X+A at the same time. (also there is a story mode if any of y'all are interested it is called ferrum league.)

That actually wasn't that kind of counter, one of Machamp's aerials just has the properties of a counter, which is why he was confused

@@QuokkaWaka I think that aerial only has Counter frames when you use it with a Bulk Up charge (or during Synergy Burst which makes you perpetually Bulked Up while you are in it).

To those wondering, the shell cancels are initiated by pressing the right bumper after blastoise's specific attacks. I think it's the water gun, body slam, rapid spin. You can input some movement with the shell cancel to make blastoise hop to that direction while going into his shell. I'd go more in depth, but there are guides for that. This is just to get the attention of whoever is interested in using blastoise. Happy studying!

Alright more Pokken content! Just gonna say what everyone has said before. THIS GAME DESERVES A SEQUEL there's so many contenders from older gens and even the recent Gen 9 that would fit well 👍

It REALLY does, however... it being on a Nintendo system only while most people who played fighting games were on PS or PC hurt sales, the lack of marketing here hurt sales, and Nintendo's insistence on control over everything, including tournaments and what types of controllers can be used, hurt sales. There is ZERO reason why this game shouldn't have been a huge hit; but it wasn't until years after that I was even aware it existed, and I'm someone who plays both Pokemon games AND fighting games... that is unacceptable. So sure, if they are willing to be multiplatform, treat tournaments and competitive play like any other company (leave it alone and if anything support by give money for prize pools), and actually bother to advertise it then I think it's a good move. If they are going to disrespect the team that makes the Tekken FFS by refusing to do this then they shouldn't waste their time. Just my two cents. This title DESERVES better and if they are not willing I almost don't want to see it happen.

Yes it does with some pokemon that are from gen 8 and 9 plus alolan galarian hisuian and paldean form pokemons not to mention more gen 5 pokemons being playable

@@olivernguyen50 , ah now regional variants are a lot of bang for your buck as far as the development goes. You get to use the same rig, most of the same animations, most of the same hit and hurt boxes (with maybe slight variation), and then you simply alter the existing textures... other than that you are just changing some of the mechanics until you get something that is close to the original character but plays differently. This is EXACTLY why they went for a "Shadow Mew" and a luchadora version of Pikachu in the game, and why you always see pairs of characters that are almost only recolors (Ryu and Ken), and why there is a trope of an "evil" version of the protagonist. It's just cheaper and faster. Except now, it makes sense to the lore of Pokemon, and it is often the more popular ones that get variations anyway so all of this is a crowd pleaser. I mean that is BRILLIANT my dude... you take a "cheap" feature and have it coincide with a cool and unique aspect of Pokemon that people like. Recontextualizing it in this way makes all the difference.

Legends arceus made some much needed changes to the formula but it was by no means a great game. Pokken is easily the best Pokemon game on switch

you know what? I'm gonna show some blastoise player sweat in hopes of him getting a dub if we do get more pokken. TL;DR version is press shield during water gun and his normals for shell stance, use this move when their knocked down 5:47 and if you get put into a corner, pick a god and pray (or mash high stance strong attack preferably) So Blastoise's whole shtick is that he's a hard hitting mid-range fighter that swaps between two stances, his base and shell stance by pressing R (Shield) during Water Gun (this move 5:29), Rapid Spin (this move 5:39) and his normals (except his crouching attacks) When you're in shell stance you have three options for attack, Skull Bash (X or strong attack), Water gun mini (Y or weak attack) and Rapid Spin. You exit out of the stance by pressing R or pressing R/B while holding a direction. Hoping Kai sees this and gets a Blastoise dub one of these days

aegislash does in fact have a laser. back and special enters shield forme, some other moves do that but that is the simplest one. in that forme, certain attack are lasers. as someone who fought aegislash a lot because my best friend mained it, it can be insufferable if you play it right, but really fun to use

Thanks Casey for using Braixen this time! As many have said before, there REALLY needs to be a sequel to this game soon, so many Pokemon from Gen 7/8/9 (yes I am aware of Decidueye but he is the only Gen 7 'mon in the game) + some older ones missing from this game that would be really freakin cool to see playable (and not just that, but they would also look *stunning* since Pokken is visually amazing)

One of Braixen’s moves allows them to enhance some of their attacks. And if they do it while they have an enhancement charged, it speeds up the cool down of their support a little bit. Check the move list for more info.

Me and my friend actually picked up Pokken on the switch because of you guys, I had completely forgotten how much fun I had playing it on the Wii U until you guys started posting videos of it. It's so anime I love it.

Kai, for Shadow Mewtwo you gotta use Vortex for oki. It's one of the best moves in the game. Hit A to charge shadow ball, and then you can do a few things. A again fires shadow ball, Y does some slashes, and B does Vortex. It's a counter that also beats grab (except Sceptile's Primary Lotus). It's been ages since I played, but I'm pretty sure those are the right buttons. You can also teleport out with R and a direction if you don't want to commit after charging Shadow Ball. Shadow Mewtwo has the lowest health and deals himself damage in order to use some sick moves. Using back A (I think) will also give a ton of his move extra properties. For example, the pillar at the beginning of the video can be triggered to explode which starts block strings or small combos. I'm rooting for you!

You can use the aerial x attack in field phase to close the distance very quickly, if the move itself doesn’t get them, shield just outside of grab range, and wait for an opening, then use forward a to grab them almost instantly. You can also grab blocks and counters. Machamp is only scary when he is in your face and he knows what he is doing

Bless, it's always a good day when y'all upload some Pokken! I'm really holding out hope that TPC taking down DX from their world championships out of nowhere means that perhaps there is another in development. It just wouldn't make sense otherwise given it still had a very active scene and presence just the year before. Also Aegislash has several lasers, and they're all very good. I hope this series continues to be a regular thing on the channel, I love it so much.

My initial reaction to having this recommended to me was "wtf is the point of this, might as well be the unfortunate state of Tekken 2" because I thought this game was old and dead like any fighter after years. BUT the comments show it's active so genuinely hope you guys get that sequel or something.
