This video is a remake of my 2022 version of the story which can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJelp5Scadusga8si=AwthAqwvbJraQrjO It had much poorer editing and storytelling quality, hence why I decided to do a remake, now including the official ATC audio. Enjoy! As I also stated in a recent community post, videos are currently being limited to weekly uploads rather than my usual 1-3 videos a week due to my busy schedule right now. Nonetheless, I’ve still got some great content on the way, so stay tuned, and thanks for watching this one! Never forget.

it is still incredible that a tower that is so high that actually withstood the collision of a fully loaded jetliner for more than an hour
@ice711real3 ай бұрын
True. Most people only say how poorly they were build because of how “quickly” they fell.
@JRG723 ай бұрын
They wouldn’t have fallen, if it hadn’t been for the amount of fuel on board.
@electro_sykes3 ай бұрын
It wasn’t the impact the caused the collapse. It was the fuel. The speed the plane hit wiped off all the fireproofing which exposed the bare metal beams to the fire. The beams lasted about an hour but eventually gave in and the lower part of the building couldn’t support the fast collapsing weight above it, hence it also collapsed.
@Aviator111Bird3 ай бұрын

Crazy how aerolineas argentinas is one of the airlines with the best safety records yet they were almost involved in what could have been the worst plane crash in history.
@crazypro7153 ай бұрын
Fr
@Fluxwux3 ай бұрын
It would be far from the worst crashes in history if it happened. Plane only had 49 passengers and at 10 PM the WTC was almost completely empty - so is the financial district which essentially has 0 permanent residents and not too much activity those times, which would kill a minimal amount of people in the building and on the streets below due to debris. Especially considering the very tall impact (significantly higher than AA11), the 707 being a comparably small jet for modern standards and the minimal amount of fuel left in the tank. Therefore the tower wouldn’t have collapsed or trapped people on the upper floors in anywhere near as raging of an inferno as the fully tanked much larger 767 used in 9/11. My guess would be that it would have caused less than 100 lives being lost. Maybe 90ish in total.

I had known of the collision of the Empire State Building and the B-25, but not this one. It's surprising to think that this near miss happened just 20 years before the attacks. It's also impressive that a building of that height could have withstood the impact of a beefy 707, though the buildings were designed when they were still being made.
