My friends, as someone who grew up in both China and the West, I'd like to follow up on your points: Point 1: You need to know that being a “party member” is like a qualification in China. Most people in China would like to get it so it is easier to obtain a government job. It's pretty immature for the “expert” to use this as a quantifier to assess if a company is aligned with a government entity. These “experts” have their own agendas. Also, it is mandatory to have a party office in a company even for the US companies. It's more of a formality than anything else. Point 2: There are so-called "patriotic" propaganda games/TV series pushed by the government, but most of them did not do well, not to mention internationally. Before Wukong, Chinese people preferred to play Western (non-woke) games, even after the trailer, a lot of Chinese people were skeptical and did not believe a Chinese company could pull this off. The success is mostly due to the popularity of the original book (1 of. 4 classics in China), and the 1980s TV series, coupled with the developers' sincere respect for the series. (music and references) Point 3: No China does not have 2 billion people. 1.4 billion is the last I checked. There are a lot of Chinese gamers, and China is the largest gaming market and growing. Point 4: A good game is a good game. I believe all average people should cast politics aside. The entertainment industry is so infested with people with political agendas. I hope this is a "wake-up call" for all people. As a Chinese I have never played any Chinese games (apart from some RPGs from Taiwan) before this, as someone who loves ARPG (Spiderman, Elden Ring, Dark Souls, etc), I believe this game is easily one of the best, especially if you understand the lore. Last point. I hope everyone especially young kids establishes critical thinking and looks at things with their own eyes and experiences. There is too much propaganda around, if there is something that you are passionate about, do not take the so-called "journalist" articles at their face value, do your own research.

You left out that he keeps harping on communism even though nobody has been communist since 1979. As the grandson of a CCP mid level cadre, that’s the saddest part. China has most billionaires than the US but most people are just ignorant and believe the propaganda in the media. You can’t have state ownership of all property when you have family of senior ranking CCP members with private jets and Bugatti’s.
@zeitgeistx523911 күн бұрын
@@shinchin384which is why his video is sad. He attempts to bring politics into it and structurally analyze it but falls flat on his face due to a lack of basic knowledge on the subject matter. His argument is crafted around a media narrative that is pure propaganda. You can’t tell someone like me who had CCP cadre as his grandfather that China is somehow communist. No one that’s intelligent and understand what the C word means would say China is communist. This fella literally doesn’t even comprehend the word. You can’t be communist when families of the ruling party are billionaires and said communist country has more billionaires than the US. As someone that immigrated to the U.S. as a child, whose family began opening private businesses in China in the 1980s it’s just so sad seeing people push propaganda.

Whats not taught is that the tanks were leaving the square. The tank man got on top of one of the tanks and had a conversation with the tank driver.
@tenchichrono11 күн бұрын
@@smkeybare Let's be honest and say that most media is dishonest without showing the whole picture of something. Showing a picture of the guy in front of the tank leads people to think that the evil military of the CCP had crushed this man with the tank. I thought this for a long time until I saw the whole clip where other people came in to usher him away. I didn't even know the tanks were leaving as well. A lot of people say this was a legitimate protest hijacked by the US/CIA to lead a color revolution to overthrow the government. Also, oddly the leaders of the protest managed to leave to the US prior to the protest ending where they got a full ride attending colleges in the US.

@lonewolfcub241711 күн бұрын
If you see the full clip, which the western media never shows, is that after a few minutes chatting to the Tank commander, some guy on a bicycle rides up to him and persuades him to come down in which they both leave. Western mainstream Media wants you to believe this guy had died which is not true. After seeing the full video, I really had my doubts about western news and what they are feeding us.

Also, I’m on pc with 4070ti Super and Ryzen 7700x. Haven’t had any frame rate issues or crashes yet, almost done with chapter 3, lvl 53. I’m not sure what’s causing the problems your having but the new NVIDIA app optimized me 60/40 quality performance respectively and it does have ray tracing turned off. I manually turned it on and noticed a pretty constant stutter so turned it back off but other than that I can’t agree with any of your critiques about performance. The rest of it, 100%. Actually, 90%, there are some dope secrets I’ve found by literal accident. Entire areas hidden behind breakable walls that require moves , fences that look like boundaries, been a blast. Reason there’s more noticeable games coming out of China is simply because of money, nothing to do with government or “restrictions”. There aren’t such quality games back 20 years ago simply because China was poor, now China is getting rich, some big rich Chinese investors or game companies can just casually drop a million here a few million there into small game studios with good ideas.

Chinese players had the same issues on PS5. Dev on Chinese twitter admitted performance on PS5 is plateaued. Meanwhile me had all ray tracing on and tanked the FPS drops on PC at first all the way till I met Yin tiger, the frame drops just had me killed 10+ times and I caved and turned ray tracing off and it was smooth as butter after.

Man that sucks. I beat the game on PS5, got the secret ending, and almost through the 2nd playthrough. Definitely been my game of the year. But I haven't played rebirth. I did have performance issues and some of the exact same ones (screentearing on ch 2 boss), but I had a smooth experience 90% of the time. My main complaint on performance is that FSR isn't done well in the game on PS5. Camera, framerate, and screentearing were limited to specific areas and fights throughout my singular experience.

I have tried my hardest to explain to friends how I feel about this game- but this video explains quite a lot of my frustrations and love with the game. Because don’t get me wrong, this game is beautiful and if I knew what I knew now, I wouldn’t have bought this as day one off the hype ( I don’t regret the purchase , love the play ). But I will say I have seen that apparent budget constraints caused them to release the game a bit unfinished considering the game was meant to be longer than what was released. And it’s alleged and found through data mining that there’s additional content with dlc reported in the future. With optimization , the game would be perfect AS THE COMPANIES STARTING POINT. Because as much as I’d love to put it on pedestal , outside the technical issues- like you said the bosses and level designs and Wukong himself could use work. This last one is just my two cents but combos could be better. The varied combos are cool but , I wish the heavy attack could also have heavy attack combo strings-. Even if they aren’t as long as the light and for us to be be able to mix the heavy and lights to make more fluid fighting with the staff.

I think it's worth mentioning that the English dub is absolutely ***not*** good, but I think it's neutered due to the fact that the English translation it's based off of is just bad. I had multiple moments when playing the game with Chinese dub and English sub where I got confused by the difference in what was being said and what was written on screen; and after watching clips and streams of the English dub, not only is the vibe off a lot of the time, oftentimes important meaning is lost and I think that's a shame.
