I have worked with 2 brilliant therapists both of whom identified me as having gender dysphoria ( I do ) and yet neither pressured me to transition or pushed me to take any medical steps towards a sex change. They simply continued working with me on my PTSD. At 54 I am finally comfortable in my female body. I am certain had I not grown up in 1970’s that I would have been talked into mutilating my body by the gender-ideology-cult. I have had several heterosexual female friends who are mothers say they were tomboys who also would have transitioned at 12. Giving sex changes to children will one day be seen as the horror show it is. God bless this brave young woman for having the integrity to fight for what’s right. First do no harm !!!

This was true for my now-adult child's gender therapist. She didn't push. She gave information when my kiddo asked for it but kept herself very neutral while remaining supportive. Nobody coerced my child into socially transitioning, then deciding to do so chemically. We researched extensively beforehand and spoke with two pediatric endocrinologists. Kiddo absolutely bloomed post-transition. There have been no regrets. Being nonjudgmental and holding things gently helps kids sort out gender stuff. Freaking out and pushing back causes serious distrust. As this woman mentions, her client let the dog idea go. This is normal. Many, many kids play with gender. It's not a big deal. NO therapist should go into a case with a pre-conceived idea of "the best outcome" that does not involve the client's buy-in. It sounds as if this woman had no training and didn't want any. This "whistleblower" seems fine discussing her former minor clients in public. Talk about a red flag. I would not recommend her to anybody. Ongoing training is to keep therapists aware of best practices, which is absolutely important. Her refusal to listen is clear.

@@rachael_greythe "whistleblower" was actively seeking to understand "the process", was being shut down, dismissed, told to follow blindly..the red flags lay squarely with an ideology that umbrella's a diversity of clients, many who are coming from vastly different motivations. Trans is a bug, not a feature..it is very rare, not common..this whistleblower had every right to question, as we all do. The trans friends I knew who went through this in the late 80's early 90's went through rigorous psyche evaluation before they medically transitioned.. whereas today "best practice" may exist randomly in some clinical settings, but I can assure you most clinical settings aren't currently. My f2m "nephew" was rushed through medical transition at 15..along with 2 other classmates, also f2m..what are the odds? 1 has detransitioned, 1 has self harmed many times & my nephew appears reasonably ok, despite finding difficult to find a healthy accepting relationship. This is a massive sweeping trend in the West & fraught with issues that need to be tested..it also is 💯 an ideology.
@rachael_grey6 ай бұрын
@victoriapharey1931 We only have her word for it, and she openly discusses her former minor client. In the UK, I suspect she'd be investigated for failure to safeguard a child for this. Every minor *still* has to be assessed and diagnosed before anything further can happen, and therapy is an ongoing requirement. The teens who come to understand that they aren't trans? It absolutely happens, and good for them. That's why all of this process is slow, and any HRT that a teen is initially prescribed is at a low level, and only increased if the teen indicates they want this (with permission of parents). We take ALL of these precautions for the benefit of cis minors, not for trans minors. The loudest voices in this latest moral panic are recycling old homophobic "social contagion," "grooming," and "brainwashing" lies that were leveled at closeted kids like I was at the time.

Ironically enough, she wants to major in Biology in college. These poor kids are fed lie after lie and it’s so sad that grown adults are falling for it, too. We went through two very affirming therapists and my daughter would be on testosterone and have her body cut up if I listened to them! Thank god I trusted my gut and my sanity over their delusions and saved her from harm. We never used pronouns and never used her stupid new name. We were her reality! Shame on these other parents who are afraid to be parents and set boundaries for their kids. Get them off their phones and back in real life. Make them get a job. Screens are raising these kids and doing so much harm that will take years to repair. I thank god every day that we came out of this unscathed. Thank you Tamara for your bravery! They put all these kids into KZbin when they were doing online schooling and from there it’s taken off. So much negative influence to be found with no parental controls. The idea that you can’t question a child’s motivation but can only affirm is such a crock. How can any therapy even occur? A traumatised child. A child potentially showing signs of abuse if they're showing pictures of a wounded dog. Like its common for abused kids to identify with dogs especially even eat dog food off the floor... right? And sexual ideation is often a sign of sexual abuse or exposure to porn etc causing trauma. Im not even a therapist but this is the first thing i would think if a child came to me and showed me sexualised pictures of animals being harmed. What has testosterone got to do with anything here? At 13? Non verbal? What the actual f? I mean is there not protocol in place that if a child shoes these kind of signs they would have for example speech therapy? They would have some sort of investigation into possible abuse? An autism diagnosis and autism spectrum therapy, before even establishing anything else? Thats just insane.

This is one of the biggest reasons why the overuse of antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals is a tragedy the medical community is complicit in provoking. I was taught that "who you are" ie your identity is based on your morals. As someone with BPD that has processed a lot of my issues, I think they're fixating on the concept of "gender" as what I call an identity template, where one uses a concept in place of their identity as they're figuring themselves out. Usually, these are more like cliques, but this is to a whole new level. If identity is a fluid mental concept, medicalizing children with permanent procedures is not the answer.

I can't believe how effective it's been after a lifetime of searching for help. Contrary to what Sasha says, there is plenty of evidence showing its efficacy and it's been around for decades. Make sure you find a certified practitioner of course, there are charlatans out there just like anything. But they don't "stimulate" you with the electrodes. They put a cap on your head with some gel and then you watch TV and that's it! It's so easy! I wish i would've have done this a long time ago - my life would have been completely different. I can't even explain how good i feel - i feel like a new person. I highly recommend it - it is literally the best thing I've ever done for my mental health!

Totall agree on Neurofeedback therapy. It’s the best treatment modality out there, but the outcome of the treatment highly depends on the skill level of the neurofeedback therapist. Ideally you want to work with someone with a solid understanding of neuroscience. This isn’t the first time Sasha has said something incorrect, such as denying that there is a neurological basis to ADHD, or not understanding how DID/OSDD work. I don’t even think she believes it’s a real disorder, despite the neuroscientific evidence behind this diagnosis as well (no it’s not literally multiple personalities, but the fragmentation of the psyche does genuinely happen, and you end up with severe dissociative amnesia, along with behaviors and a sense of self that are inconsistent across the non-integrated parts of the psyche). All of this denial of neuroscience-based understanding of mental disorders, and a “talk therapy can fix everything” attitude really hurts her credibility in my opinion.

How interesting, thank you for sharing. There are very low level versions of bio-feedback that already earlier generations knew about, and taught as "household tricks". The most common one is the breathing into a paper bag. 15-20 years ago I got interested in this and used a heart rate monitor to train myself to be able to deal with a phobia of steep stairs/climbing (not heights, mainly the act of descending). I should have done more of it, but it already helped so much to know that if I can get my body to not panic that crippling shake-inducing dread will also go away.

The rare occasion someone supplies actual sources then it will quickly become apparent they've never read them. It's not exactly transphobic to say ppl who identify as trans shouldn't be routinely sterilized. And in your case you literally said don't harm your body. How can anybody using their brain be against that?

I was banned from r/politics for making that reply today btw. I really don’t think you all know what is happening to people that do these major gender surgeries. Not only is it extremely traumatic to the body they now need to take drugs for the rest of their life which is in itself exhausting and unpredictable btw the body may end up rejecting and even fighting against the drugs creating complex issues, among other things I am respectfully not mentioning here look it up. I will withhold further comment for the sake of people that have had the surgeries, I pray you are well and strong we are with you, we want the best for you, however we want to protect the youth from harm that is clear and evident. If you are well please let us know , but if you are suffering please for the sake of the youth come forward and protect them. Please allow open dialogue from both sides of this issue so we can learn as much as possible as fast as possible to reduce suffering

I get that the participants are trying to get across how vicious trans activists are to even the most docile people, but the way they kept mentioning how soft spoken Tamara is also has the effect of reinforcing the idea that being “nice” should garner empathy and respect. Women like KJK have been bashed mercilessly for telling it like it is, most of all by other women. We’re just not used to that and we need more of it. It’s horrifying to me that we’ve come to a place where people don’t see an extremely damaging and fallacious situation and point it out in black and white. We all want to be open-minded but being like, “These people want me to affirm a child who identifies as a wounded dog and I’m not sure if I’m justifiably alarmed; is it just me?”… how is there any confusion? There’s a ton of gaslighting so people are made to think they’re exceptional when most people agree with them, but we have to snap out of it and be the adults in the room. Thankfully many like Tamara have done just that. This seems to be most common among women thanks to gendered conditioning but more generally, we have traded common sense for a warped version of so-called politeness. Some things are flat out crazy and we should all say so without hesitation.

As a Washington resident, I am finding it impossible to find groups against this ideology and whats going on here. Im not religious and im not MAGA. The only group I could find was The Heritage Foundation which is just as dangerous as trans activists. The choice here in the US is Democrats pushing this ideology and Trump. The epitome of a rock and a hard place. Im very passionate about this but as a housewife that nobody knows, I feel I have no voice. I lose sleep over this issue. All I can do is hope the people with a voice can change things. I have to say, I don't have much hope at this time.

No hearing should ever go ahead without the defendant bringing forward opposing expert testimony. And if this is just an internal professional body hearing where they refuse to allow your opposing expert testimony threaten them directly with legal action for abuse of children. Further more if they do allow your opposing expert testimony but still rule against you still sue them anyway. Make the process the punishment just as much as they will try to use that tactic. To be honest their time is running out with the Wpath files and the Cass report so the fact is they are showing willful neglect of minors. Make it clear when the truth is out in the USA and all around the world you will continue to expose their abuse and willful neglect. It's clear you have been providing them with documented evidence for concern.

This is rediculous. When i was a teenager i was in therapy for extreme anxiety atacks, i cant immagine if i walked in and said i feel like im dieing and they just affirmed me and said well done you know who you are and yes you are gonna die. The therapist had to work through the issue presented (anxiety attacks) and get to the roots of whats causing it. Same thing here, if a person in therapy says they are a wounded dog (or male or female etc) they need to see that as the presenting issue that needs to be resolved by getting deeper and finding whats causing those feelings. Ignoring the most obvious issue and affirming it means the rest of the therapy is useless

I am 60yr old transgender man. I had a life time of trauma and have had counseling since i was 16. I worked through all the trauma and I am still in therapy. I came out as Transgender in 2021. I got my current counselor in 2022 and when I met her I asked her to question things as much as she could, my concerns were around could my desire to transition be a result of trauma. She has been wonderful. I know that I am on the right path, I am so much happier and more confident. My therapist is helping that process so much. No I don't think of her as gender affirming, but she does say she agrees that my idea of questioning is important for healthy therapy no matter the issue. She does use my preferred name, which I appreciate. When she had to go on maternity leave she asked me if I would continue therapy with her because she feels like she is learning as well helping me improve my life. I said absolutely.

As a child, I would tell my friends that I didn't feel girly ENOUGH. "Like boy energy in a girl's body that still wants to be a girl," but I was a fat, emotionally withdrawn child seeking a way of expression through dark clothing and makeup after years of abuse. Of course, I was targeted as being the odd girl out, which only made me feel even more disconnected. A monster. There are so many different issues that could cause feelings of dysphoria. Transition should never be in the top 5 list of options
@sarahcarter26506 ай бұрын
I agree completely. Transition should never be in the top five options.
@alibelyea6 ай бұрын
It should be the last option, after lots of time and competent therapy THEN I still have issues with it because it's never going to be safe or healthy but at least a person has actually struggled with it instead of self-identfying into a struggle, overnight and taking on the fantastical history of trans. Some people choose to live as trans sexual. Sure. Promoting it as an option is madness.

I'm glad you have whistleblowers in mental health, but you need some financial whistleblowers. Insurance carriers are being ripped off, and hospitals need to supervise doctors who prescribe hormones or surgery without a comprehensive mental health evaluation and treatment. Any life altering elective surgery requires adherence to medications, follow up and the presence of mind to monitor himself for complications and report danger signs promptly.

I will admit I am obsessed with this subject and trying to work out why THIS subject obsessed me in particular. I am also fascinated in the political dissection of early 20th century political movements on the TIK History channel. What I am listening to here is clearly a "take over". I began my obsession after coming across Jordan Peterson's tortured rants to camera in the wee hours when he challenged bill C16 in 2016 (compelled speech legislation regarding gender). Stella exclaimed in this video "feels Soviet", having learned the ideological pedigree of National Socialism, Fascism and Marxism I have to concur with James Lindsay's conclusion - this is a political movement that it's adherents have no insight into. This is a warped outgrowth of a quasi religious cult that manifested itself in the totalitarian European political movements of the early 20th century. This is so reminiscent of National Socialist Germany during the 1930s and 40s. During those dark years people of conscience were similarly repressed. The ideology expelled hundreds of thousands from their homelands. I am concerned, people like this poor women are being ejected to satisfy a morbid appeal for sanitation. Germany's political revolution began with an obsessive cleansing. They started with the factories and it took a few years but the moved onto the disabled and other sectors of society that irritated the shadow aspects of ideology. Instead of sanitation I believe this neurosis entered the political realm through Occupational Health and Safety. A friend is damaging their feet having to wear "safety" boots, ironically the HR department is similarly dogmatic - these are for safety if they are damaging you you are at fault.
