how to fix MHA's ending: (first off, the final battle occurs at the end of their third year, so therefore they are now Class 3A, and a whole lot of exposition and character development has occurred beyond the original rushed single year timeline) 1. Class 3A -and- an assortment of pro heroes -and- a handful of converted former villains arrive at the Deku-Shigaraki fight just as Deku passes out from gear shift. The mob of heroes and converted villains collaborate to fend off Shigaraki as Deku lies unconscious. 2. Simultaneously, All Might and OFA are locked in their "final" battle. In this universe, Eri was able to reverse All Might's previous injuries which allows him to recover very weak flames of OFA (we get an encore of All Might from the early days) 3. All Might and OFA basically fight to the death; something like "Toddler OFA" and last-gasp All Might land simultaneous mortal blows. 4. Passed-out Deku is "recovering" in the previous user's realm when All Might's form flashes into golden flames before fading away and revealing the full All Might visage. Deku and the previous users immediately recognize that this means he was killed. 5. Shigaraki has mowed through the majority of the heroes / former villains at this point, and Deku awakens in an inconsolable rage. 6. As Deku hurls himself at Shigaraki, we learn that Shigaraki has stolen a handful of Deku's classmate's quirks. 7. Huge beautifully rendered fight occurs, Deku is mostly outmaneuvered by shigaraki but sees glimpses of cracking due to the sheer number of quirks and Shigaraki's own mental instability (more childish outbursts revealing an inner Tenko). 8. Shigaraki's instability puts him into an emotional rage and Deku starts losing 9. Spirit realm heroes in OFA hatch the plan to transfer themselves to try to separate Shigaraki's inner child / Tenko from the effects of AFO 10. Dual-realm fight scene ensues as Deku holds off Shigaraki while the former users are transferred and begin a "spirit realm battle" against AFO who has imprisoned a scared Tenko 11. A particularly hard hit causes both Deku and Shigaraki to temporarily black out. All Might's visage is the only remaining one and Deku pleads to not transfer him. All Might convinces him and they share a final goodbye 12. Deku and Shigaraki regain consciousness, Deku's rage is gone and is now replaced with a mournful determination. 13. All Might is transferred and turns the tide of the spirit-realm fight agains AFO. Deku is on embers of OFA 14. Shigaraki is about to kill Deku when Nana reaches Tenko in the spirit realm. She consoles the crying child as only a true grandmother could. 15. This release causes a rift within Shigaraki and he misses Deku with his final blow. Deku (also attempting a last-ditch final attack) lands an earth-shattering punch with all that's left of OFA. 16. The fight stops and silence follows as both rest fall to their knees, Shigaraki has regained mental stablity (still childish, but it is clear that it is Tenko now). The finger / hand / monstrosity begins to "decay" into dust and blows away in the wind. 17. In the spiritual realm within Shigaraki, Tenko (surrounded by the previous users) admonishes a clearly defeated OFA. AFO pleads for Tenko to continue to fight and reaches out to him. To the former user's horror, Tenko reaches out to take AFO's hand, but delivers the killing blow by initiating decay as he declares he doesn't want anyone to feel afraid and lonely anymore. 18. In the real world, as Shigaraki's bulk form continues to decay, Class 3A and the rest of the heroes / former villains surround Deku and Shigaraki. Shigaraki and Deku share parting words; Shigaraki thanks Deku, Deku apologizes for not being able to save him sooner. 19. As the decay reaches Shigaraki's body, he remarks on the former users being really nice people. Deku wipes a tear away from his eye and says he'll miss them. 20. In his last seconds, Shigaraki scratches his head with his only remaining arm (the other is decayed away) and says one of them wanted to convey a message. 21. Page-size frame of Shigaraki holding out one of his hairs while saying "EAT THIS" and mimicking All Might's smile 22. Tears stream from Deku's eyes as he takes the hair and Shigaraki fades into nothingness. The heroes have won, everyone stands around Deku in silence and utter exhaustion. Deku is kneeling on the ground holding a single hair. 23. It is revealed in the epilogue that Deku regained OFA as well as a 'clean' version of AFO. Accessing the "spirit realm", he is able to identify and return all of the stolen quirks. He is shocked to find a young version of himself wielding Shigaraki's decay quirk. When he reaches out to pat the younger version of himself on the head, the younger visage is absorbed into him and he feels a strange sense of closure. 24. Deku and Class 1A go on to be successful pro heroes in a newly rebuilt society. ...there... fixed

The main problem with deku and ochako is basically "why" when asking why horo wasted so much time with shipping scenes for nothing to occur. Bleach and Naruto while not well handled we can see and get pay off for orihime and hinata getting Ichigo and naruto showing the romance was not wasted time. Mha was all wasted time as 8 years and ochako should have moved on by now or too busy with her work since the quirk singularity would make things worse as a whole showing people that rereading the series everytime they talk it's not going anywhere. Not even the friend ending either since deku was basically alone at the end which is bad overall. Could have been fixed by having deku work under ochako after her therapy business was made and just show rings on them. Boom little to no work needed and people can see it happened.

The comparison with FMA was perfect. I hoped that OFA embers left in Deku acted like a reset button, so he would grow his powers again, but in a different form. Also expected something about the main couple, Deku / Uraraka. It seems these two don't even talk to each other anymore, and she only liked him because of his powers. At least, some recognition for his sacrifice in the war? Nothing. I personally got depressed to see that ending.

The ending would not have been so disappointing under different circumstances but, it feels very unsatisfying and lackluster considering the fact that this series has been ongoing for about 10 years. 10 years is not a short time, and if you have been reading this story since the beginning to the end throughout all those years, you naturally would expect a better conclusion and writing to the story. At the end, the ending is just not really good and makes you ask what was the point of it all. I wish the story was kept shorter tbh since at some point Hori couldn't handle all the plot points he set up, he wasn't even able to resolve most of them and many things feel incomplete and pointless. This series could have been saved had it been shorter, so it would have had a thigter story with a better conclusion imho.

The scene were he is talking to Eraser have him mention to Deku that he did a good job yesterday and we see a panel with the two of them standing on a roof together with Deku's rank number over him. Even if he is like the rank 50 hero that would be better. Then when he gets home have his wife and kids there to great him. If he wants given the time skip he could have married someone else like Froppy or Mai or Malissa or who ever just don't make him the cocked looser.

Goes to show Japan loves to not really touch on actually subjects. The quirk racissm was a nothing factor. Added last minute and ended up being a nothing plot point when spinner who has no character or personality is the only thing connected to it No quirk humans. Would have been great to see a black market form of all for one give quirks to people to join his army since we see it happen to have his men get into the hero business. Shiny boy being one could have been great to show the hero industry is already bad and the plants are all ready to turn on the heroes That or normal humans feeling inferiority and leading to more technology to fight back since somehow deku gt that suit and nobody else thinks about it. They have a tec group for petes sake. Twice was good. Horo did a great subversion of his potential power level of being a mega threat making an army all by himself and offing him before he can actually use is was what I want to see more in shounen stories. Not characters get one shot off screen immediately (jjk) Also all for one went from a good villain who knew his time ended and set up th future to a boring one note boring antagonist who would have lost regardless

To be honest, this ending makes sense. While I will admit that that it didn't follow the theme of "anybody can be a hero." It DID follow the setting of "only people with quirks can be a hero." Deku's use of ofa was ALWAYS meant to be temporary. Not only was his body not fit to use it in the beginning... but that it make sense in the story that since ofa only existed to counter afo, that both would disappear at the same time. Deku was living a blissful lie in highschool. It makes sense that most of what he gained from having a quirk disappears when he becomes quirkless again. This is a REALISTIC ending. It is no wonder deku wants to relive his highschool years, every adult does. I LOVE THIS ENDING I am so TIRED of seeing the world view of a story being flipped on its head to give the MC a happy ending. The entire world doesn't have to change for the MC to get a happy ending.
@matijasostojic42882 ай бұрын
Except they also didn't fix or Actually changed their world for the Better aside from "We killed the big bad'. Society still sucks and teaching some kids quirk math isn't gonna help.
@chasetanner48222 ай бұрын
@matijasostojic4288 Again, this is realistic. But just because it is realistic, doesn't mean it is going to be happy. Of course the actions of some random teenage in Japan wouldn't be able to change how the whole world works. Ironically, giving deku a quirk to become a hero ruined the chance for the world to be changed. If you wanted the world's views about the quirkless to change, then make a example on how the quirkless can become hero's as well. I can not think of a bigger example then a quirkless person defeating afo. If the whole world learned that the world's greatest villain got defeated by a quirkless person, then the world would then reevaluate how they see the quirkless. The whole world after learning about afo's defeat by a quirkless person would think of something like this: "If the quirkless are capable of defeating the greatest villain in history, then why are they being treated lesser than people with quirks if they have equal or maybe ever greater potential than people with quirks to become hero's." And boom, quirkless discrimination either disappears completely or lessens greatly. The world needed quirkless support gear using deku to defeat ago so it can chsnge for the better. But since powerful quirk using deku defeated afo, the world saw deku as just another hero who defeated another villain and thus saw no reason to change.
@matijasostojic42882 ай бұрын
@@chasetanner4822 The problem is that the story sets itself up that the society is flawed and that people mindsets need to change. But at the end they just kill the big bad and it doesn't seems like anybody has really done much to reform.
@chasetanner48222 ай бұрын
@@matijasostojic4288 I know that. Do you not read my previous comment at all? In my previous comment I said the reason the mha world didn't change is because they weren't given a example so big and undeniable that would cause them to want to change. Quirk using deku just followed the status quo of a hero defeating the villian and thus show no reason for the world to change. With this context I just added to the mha world, deku getting a quirk ruined the chance for the world to change. Deku should have instead become the first ever quirkless hero and proving to the world that quirkless people can be a hero and proving the theme of "anybody can be a hero" right. Deku just became another hero with a quirk proving the setting of "that only people with a quirk can be a hero" correct instead. And this point is proven correct when he stops being a hero the moment he loses the ofa quirk.
@matijasostojic42882 ай бұрын
@@chasetanner4822 I agree on the last part but the begining I disagree with. 1. We and Deku were told both by the story and All might himself that his way of doing things was wrong. Putting the hopes and stability of an entire nation on Your back is both bad for you and for that nation on question when you eventually falter. 2. The lady Nagant situation taught him how corrupt and manipulative their higher ups were. Taking heroes like him and turning them into glorified assassins is so wrong. 3. The most important one. The societies general treatment of those borm with "Bad quirks". Many villains were created when they really shouldn't have been and they went on to hurt and kill many people. They had the perfect chance to change something. But instead they all just kinda slipped back into the status quo of the system they have learned is fundamentally flawed. I don't care about the reality of the situation. The fact that the story bassically just went back to where it all started doesn't sit right with me.

I have a few counter points. Deku did say he was ok being quirkless again and that he enjoyed the time he had his powers. Also he and Uraraka are together, it’s just not blatantly obvious. She is wearing his mouth guard from his beta costume, she is looking at him in the final panel and they are going on a date in a small panel in the last chapter
