Cucumber mint is my favorite scent right now! I usually am afraid to use fragrances for how irritating they are to my skin, but this stuff doesn’t seem to irritate my under arms. I might have to try the body wash soon.

I FEEL YOU about the jumping on the top of the car and screaming for everyone to stop!!!! I did this very behavior inside a Dillard’s department store. This was in 1997 before people really freaked out like that. I screamed so loud complete strangers and employees blocked doorways and began searching the entire first floor which was huge, yelling her name. About 90 seconds later but seemed like an hour my daughter popped out from a densely packed clothes rack saying “hi momma.” I was embarrassed but not one person was angry or irritated with me. Many hugged me and kindly lectured my daughter not to do this again. My advice: cause a scene better safe. IMO ❤️🤗🥰 You are so relatable Stephanie!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Yes! Thank you! I’m a teacher and a little girl in my class was kidnapped, raped and killed by a neighbor (her name is Skyler Kauffman if you’re interested in reading about it). It completely traumatized me. It happened about ten years ago but I am terrified to let my kid out of my sight. Luckily, within hours, the guy was caught and put away for life.

Agreed!! I am mom to a 6 yr old boy. My only child. I am very overprotective but I worry!! I watch things like this which make me vigilant! I watch out for other children as well. I don’t let my son wander around the neighborhood alone even though it’s small and just a loop. I don’t trust it, and I don’t trust people!

This story is eerily similar to something that happened to me as a kid. My brother played sports and since both my parents would go to all the practices and games I always had to go with them to the field. I usually played with other kids at the park nearby like Morgan did. But one time there weren’t many kids there and it was getting dark so I asked my dad if I could sit in his truck. My dad always had a ton of coins in his truck so I was playing with them and counting them. Distracted. Until not even 10 min later my dad and his friends came and swooped me up out of the truck and my dad said “sorry, you can’t be in here alone!” I was so mad because I was so bored and all I wanted to do was count his coins. Until my dad finally said “there was a man standing in the woods over there watching you” and when one of his friends went to run after him the man took off running. My dads truck wasn’t locked when I was in it. If my dad (or his friends) weren’t being vigilant and didn’t notice that man, I most definitely could have been kidnapped. I think about that moment all the time when I hear stories like this and I’m so thankful someone was paying attention, because I certainly did not notice anyone looking at me.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was around 6 or 7 I believe. I used to spend a day a week with my grandma and one time we went grocery shopping, but I didn’t bother to go inside, instead I wanted to wait in the car. After some time, a man came up to the car and tried to open the doors, but luckily my grandma had locked them. I was in total shock and just froze. I told my grandma and I can only imagine how freaked out she must have been. I don’t think she ever left me in the car alone again.

I actually just remembered that when I was around 10, I was walking on the side walk of the street we lived on and passed a parking car. There was a woman in the backseat pounding on the window and screaming or crying. I got so scared, I ran home as fast as I could. I told my mom but she said the woman was probably just sad. I think about that situation from time to time, hoping that the woman is okay.

That’s a great idea. At a huge park with tons of people I saw a lady frantically looking for a child. I could just tell she had lost a child. I went up to her and asked what they looked like and then maybe 5 mins later I found her. I think it was easier for me to find her because I was calm In comparison to the mom (which I totally understand) but just mean, it would help a lot if the surrounding people KNEW clearly what is happening and who to look for.

It's so hard to believe that with so much evil going on in the world, with children at the center of many of these cases that trafficking rings and other various cults should be investigated for involvement bring such indignant responses from the KZbin community. It's also so disappointing. Is that the general attitude some people have surrounding unsolved abduction cases? I can’t imagine how guilty her mother must feel, having those “what if I didn’t...” thoughts probably every day for the last 26 years. Regardless of how careful you are things can happen so fast, when I was 6 I almost drowned because my mom looked away for just a few moments. I hope this case will finally be solved so her family can have some peace and closure, even though I’m sure their pain and regret will never really go away.

When I was 7, i got separated from my mom at a Wal-Mart. She was losing her mind, they were calling my name throughout the aisles. She found me in the toys, she ran up to me, hugged me, crying and fussing and hugging me all at the same time. Telling me I was never to do that again. @@chelseapthib36 I had a similar story but Iwas in walmart around the same age and I was looking at something and lost track of my grandma and started wondering around. I remember being so scared everything was blurry and fuzzy and I started to cry. It was the scariest feeling. An employee saw me and asked me where my parents were and I said I didnt know but they stuck with me and helped me locate my grandma. When I saw her I ran to her and she hugged me and I held her hand and made sure I stuck with her. As i got older i still got freaked out when i lost track of whoever I was with 😂 but you can never be to safe the world can be a very dangerous unsafe place :(

There still are good people in the world, but the bad outweigh the good, and thats truly sad. Random women dressing as nurses and stealing babies.. it's like it gets worse every passing year. And walmart is an easy place to snatch a child. It's a shame this is the world our children have to grow up in.

I know the feeling of that instant panic. It’s terrible. I woke up one Friday not realizing it was Friday and I went to wake up my 4 year old. She wasn’t in her bed. I pulled all the covers off her bed. Ransacked the room. I ran through every room, around the yard, up the street. I was already bawling screaming her name. I had my phone out about to dial 911 when it dawned on me that it was Friday. Her dad is off on Fridays and he was gone too of course, so I called him quickly. He had gotten her up and taken her with him on errands so I could sleep in. I can’t put the terror I felt that morning into words. I want to cry thinking about these mothers feeling that feeling and not finding their babies. God it’s just awful.

One time, I laid my son down, went 3 feet down the hall to put a load of laundry down and he got up and I couldn't find him. I called 911 the police came...he had sleepily walked to the living room, and went under the reclining chairs in the couch and fell asleep under there thank GOD. I’m not a mom, but also I kind of am to my little sister. I watched her, bathed her, fed her, did everything for her while my parents worked and the most frightened I have ever felt in my life is when I thought someone took her. She was with us for a moment and then gone the next. My parents and I frantically ran around yelling for her and there was nothing. We were inside a department store and I took off for the door in case I could find her and whoever took her. She finally peaked out of a clothing rack and I bursted into tears. She was only gone for a minute but it was the worst minute of my life. I can’t imagine what Morgan’s mom and others have gone through.

Since this happened I still sometimes let my little girl sleep in my bed just because it makes me feel more comfortable knowing she’s right next to me and no one could slip her out of her room without me knowing. Occasionally I will go and scoop her out of her bed and put her with me just because I have an uneasy feeling.

I recently had moved to Georgia. 5yrs ago. But at time we LITERALLY just moved their.. Very rural area. I couldn't find my 1.5 yr old.. screaming,calling... complete TERROR 😳😡🥺 THANK GOD, she was UNDER porch. But I went to pee and gone. When we found her omg so happy. Thank God she was OK. I got lucky. This is crazy. My mom had a Keychain with a picture of a missing girl. I was 5 when this girl went missing. I used to play with my moms keys and remember being disturbed looking at the picture of the little girl because she was just a year older than me but I was obsessedwith looking at her. Ive always wondered what happened to that little girl but could never remember her name. I even asked my mom and she didn't remember. I have searched for her picture, time frame and murdered children a bunch of times to no avail. It has bothered me for years and years and I think about her when I watch these types of videos. Now I know it was a picture of Morgan. Im completely shook. Her little face has been burned in my brain for so many years.

When my cousin and I were 6 and 7 we went walking around our neighborhood selling pictures that we had colored and a man walked up to us and asked why we were selling them. We told him it was bc we wanted to go to Wendy’s but had no money. He then told us to follow him and he would take us we started walking with him and then my cousin said “wait we should let me mom know where gonna go since it’s so far” and before we could let him respond we ran home to tell her mom that we were going to go to Wendy’s with this man and I never seen my aunt and uncle jump up off the couch as fast as they did that day and they ran outside looking for him and he had disappeared. I can still see that man’s face to this day

The family came to the school when I was in elementary to teach everyone of the same age group of Morgan the importance of being safe. I grew up in Clarksville Arkansas. People would still talk about morgan and every year her birthday passed my nana would always say morgan would be 12 today or morgan is 16 today. My brother played little league in coal hill and after morgan my mom never ever let me out of her sight. They even came and talked to us at the school about safety and stranger danger. It was heart breaking.

I grew up right next to Alma, a few years after Morgan’s disappearance a man showed up at my uncles house looking for his “dog”, my cousin and I were playing in the front yard when he asked us to come to his car and look at the pictures he had so we could “tell him if we’ve seen it around” my mom told me all about Morgan but being 6 myself I didn’t fully understand yet that people could be so cruel there was also a small fence between us and the car so I felt safe in that moment, we started walking towards the mans car, luckily my mom saw us and ran over stopping us from getting closer, the man sped off and she then explained to us what his true intentions were and that if he were truly looking for a missing dog he would have been perfectly fine with her being right there with us. I never trusted a stranger after that.

Honestly, the older I get the more shocked I am that I’m still around. Starting around 8 me and my cousins were constantly wondering around all over the place, being left at home with pizza on the way for parent’s date night, even walking a couple of miles on the side of a rural road in the middle of summer to get ice cream. My parents weren’t bad parents, they just grew up similarly and didn’t know better. But looking back I’m just glad I survived!

One time at a birthday party when I was about 5 years old in the 80’s, a photographer tried to lure me out of the party. He kept saying “let’s take a picture here” and “let’s take a picture there” and we kept getting closer and closer to the exit door, we were at a very darkened and unused part of the venue at this point. Luckily, an adult spotted me and grabbed me, the photographer then fled the party. It still gives me chills.

I had something similar happen when I was overseas, they said in Morocco it was very unsafe and the slave market was huge. They had guides all around us to protect the group, but at dinner that night a guy tried to lure me away when I went to the restroom, he wanted me to look at his wonderful range of Moroccan carpet mats …….it really creeped me out and he felt sleazy, even though he thought he was gods gift to women, and could talk anyone into what he wanted. I wouldn’t go, and went back to our “sitting on the floor” dinner, the tour guide later said he was trying to lure me away because of my blonde hair, blondes get more $$$ on the slave market, it made my blood run cold and so glad I trusted my gut instincts and didn’t go the the other side of the huge room to look at his “carpets” he even said, oh I am not taking you anywhere, it just over there …see??? Mmmmmmmm yeah right ! I would never return there, that place is creepy as. Turns my stomach thinking about it, couldn’t even use their water to brush your teeth, was never so glad to leave a country as I was Morocco !

And why would you be on vacation in that van? We were older so we just said uh, no? And left. We weren't scared. I can't remember if we told anyone. DO *NOT* worry about making a scene, it is *always* better to be SAFE than sorry. Your kids will forgive you, & eventually later in life will understand exactly why you did what you did/where you were coming from....ESPECIALLY if they end up having children of their own.

Definitely agree. I lost a kid for a minute on a field trip (high school teacher) in a museum and I immediately started running around screaming. Kid was hiding behind a display on his phone, and if I'd waited another 30 seconds before making a scene, I'd probably have found him. Don't regret it at all though. This happened in my hometown. Even though it looks different than it did at the time, I still can’t drive by the ball fields without thinking about Morgan or how terrible I feel for her family. Especially her momma. Morgan being kidnapped changed our little town forever. Even so many years later there isn’t a person around that doesn’t know who she is. I talked to my kids about kidnappers starting really early. My 5 year old son keeps me in check - when we go somewhere he says "mom be sure to watch me! I don't want to be kidnapped!" And of course, my eyes are glued on him and his sisters at all times. Can't be too vigilant in this world.

My husband didn’t want me to scare my stepdaughter by talking about kidnappers, but he finally agreed when she was young that we could teach her without instilling unhealthy fear. She was always way too open and we had to constantly remind her not to tell strangers personal info. Finally we told her that there are bad people who hurt kids, and we need to be “aware, not scared”.

Yeah, also the Melisa Witt Disappearance that happened at the bowling alley in Fort Smith the year before even though she was 19 she disappeared from her mothers side then her remains were found 6 months later In Ozark. But Morgan's disappearance really did rock the town. My sister was playing very close to where Morgan and her Friends were that night. I was playing baseball.

I’m hyper-focused on vigilance out in town. Everywhere I go I think “I could be walking past someone who gets trafficked” and the worst part is it’s true. It happens all around us, it’s truly terrifying. I was recently followed in Walmart by 4 men. The tracked me through the baby section(even scarier) but luckily I didn’t have my baby with me. Once I realized they were following me I confronted them and said I know what you’re doing and I’ve told an employee and they ran. I wish I could say this was a one-off but this is a too often reality. Stay safe!

Is there anything to look out for if someone’s being trafficked? I just wish I could know when someone needs help. Many Walmart’s in my area have had people in the parking lot try to lure women away either asking for help or convincing you to join their church (there’s no church). Trafficking is rampant, and I think it’s potentially worse near state borders and major interstates (which I am/those Walmarts and Targets are) I worked at one of the targets for 2 years and a Walmart for about a year (through college) and leaving late shift could be scary. I’m a 5’2” ~115lb female. I keep a knife in the console of my car but that’s all I got. I was always “watching my 6” on my break, and moved my car if there were suspicious people around. Someone came up to my car window and motioned for me to roll it down once. I shook my head and ripped out of the parking spot and drove around until my break was over. I never encountered the trafficking schemes that happened there but in several years of retail I have definitely seen people who needed help. Strung out on drugs, homeless, having a mental break/psychotic episode, domestic violence and abuse (literally occurring in the store), bomb/gun threats, you name it. I quit in may of 2020 because the store was doing nothing to protect us from covid and I couldn’t take it anymore. I was terrified like we all were. No promised hazard pay ever came. Sorry for the novel, working at Walmart is traumatizing.

Unfortunately, as women, we are always a target. Get a weapon, preferably a gun, but at least a tazer, learn how to use it, learn how to defend yourself as best you can. They want someone easy most the time, like you said, make it hard and never go to the 2nd location, 92% chance you won't come back. I carry a pistol whenever I leave my house alone, especially with my toddler. I'd rather catch a charge than die or be tortured. I'm also 5'2" but have been a weight lifter since my teen years, so about 140lbs, size 6, so I'm heavier than I look, and will use that to my advantage.

The world our children are growing up in is so scary. I don’t even trust my son to be safe, on our porch alone. He’s three and we live on a dead end in a small town. But I constantly have the thought, that there is someone just waiting for me to look away. I never take my eyes off my son. It is way safer now. But many cultures are also more open about abuse. It's usually people you know. The narrative we're immersed in isn't accurate or helpful. The big danger to children at home is accidents. And luckily we can get vaccines now and avoid the terrible consequences of serious diseases. One of the best things you can do is teach your kid about consent, bodily autonomy, etc., and SHOW him that you take his bodily autonomy seriously, by respecting it and protecting it even from other people forcing affection on him. Show him you listen to him and act when he has concerns. I tried to get help about adults who were a threat to me and no one did anything about it. That teaches a lot more than any words anyone can say. Literally a neighbor LINED UP NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS AND SPANKED US and no one did anything about it. Anyway if you need any resources, you can look up Erin's law pdf in Oregon. We have a mandated abuse prevention curriculum now. You can find the materials teachers just started to use and give out (k-12 level). There are little stories and handouts and info for adults to read to kids.

Allegedly people do. His alleged nephew Joe Tollett said it belonged to his grandparents and his uncle Cecil Tollett drove the truck all the time. He provided a picture of Cecil and he looks just like the composite sketch 😳 you can see all this on FB by searching for Joe and scrolling down a few posts on his page. There are family members saying it was Cecil and other family members saying the accusations are a result of family drama… there is even a stepdaughter commenting who people think is Morgan but the step daughter says she was 13 when it happened so who knows… either way interesting comment thread to read and to me the composite is undeniable. Unfortunately no picture of the truck has been provided by family members but honestly they may not have one… we may have some random pics with cars in them from the 90s but chances are slim to none honestly so I don’t think that’s a deal breaker for me personally. I hope LE is investigating him.

Excellent advice about parents following their gut and teaching young children to be aware of what is going on around them! I'm a 30+ year member of LE and I'd like to add talking to your children from as young as they can understand that there is absolutely NO reason for an adult to ever ask a child for help with anything! If you should get separated teach your little ones to find a mommy with children to help them. It's your best bet for safety. All that said I'm going to give my PSA I've been putting everywhere. Please, please please be mindful and careful what you are putting online. I work on a federal internet crimes against children taskforce. In the last few years there has been a huge increase in "family" pics and videos being sold and traded on pedophile sites. These are seemingly innocent things you are putting put there that are being taken and used by pedophiles in ways you know would make you sick. We do not have the resources to track these photos and videos back to the owners. Because they are not illegal. If it were my child I would want to know. I recently took my personal time to track a group of photos and videos back to a KZbin "family channel". They were very angry at ME and made a complaint for which I lost pay. To me, I don't care about the pay, but WTH are these parents thinking? Please know that you are putting out much more than you realize. I have been posting this as often as I can and one mom asked me to prove what I was saying In 48 hours I had all her children's names, photos, where they attend school and both parents names as well as what they did for work. If someone become a obsessed with your child they can easily find then based solely on info you are providing and use that info to gain trust. I know no parent means to do this but I've watched so many beach videos, bath time and potty training. What is a cute innocent moment in your eyes is made into something sick and wrong in the hands of a pedophile. Please lock down the access to your children. Require family and close friends to not share w/o your permission. This has me so worried and no one seems to care. It's your responsibility to protect your child. They are being victimized and you are handing them over freely. I am not judging anyone. I am just frightened by what I see at my job and the increase is huge and it's daily. We will email/text photos to trusted family/friends and make it very clear they are not allowed to post the photos. We already know people will be mad about not having the access to our kids they feel entitled to, and those people can eff off. My baby, my job to protect it. My sister in law gets flack for being cold to strangers who make comments about her daughter (“she’s so cute” “can i hold her”). Ever since they were tiny, I have been discussing Stranger Danger with my girls. I told them that if someone tries to take them, they have permission to bite, kick, whatever it takes. Also taught them to scream, "This is not my Mommy/Daddy!'" since a tantrumming preschooler may not draw the needed attention. I try to emphasize that most people are kind. However, there are some bad people and you can't tell who they are just by looking at them. It's hard to strike that balance between keeping your kids safe and not giving them an anxiety disorder.

I've lost sight of my kids for 2 or 3 minutes tops in their lifetimes. The panic and terror lasted 2 or 3 minutes. I can't imagine living with that feeling for years. Her poor parents. It's awful to imagine it. My heart goes out to them for what they've gone through.

When I was a little girl, we were on vacation in Tennessee (I can't remember what for, but there we were) and my grandmother kept staring at a man with a little blonde girl leaving the parking lot. Until the day that she left this earth, she still believed that she saw Morgan Nick and it broke her heart that she didn't say something. She really truly believed that she had seen Morgan but had felt like she was being ridiculous. I think it haunted her deeply; I pray that if Morgan is no longer with us, she and my grandmother finally get to meet and there's some sort of forgiveness or whatever you want to call it. This story still breaks my heart to this day.

May be the friend was out to get any child but recognised Morgan with the other children and as a easy target, as they had met before. I wish the other 2 children at the time had remembered what he had said, it could have been something like “hello Morgan what are you doing here? What bothers me the most about when kids go missing is not knowing what they are going through or went through and that is truly terrifying and heartbreaking like it is literally something that eats me alive... 3 weeks ago my son that's 7 who's on the autism spectrum left and didn't say where he was going. We went door to door and thr feeling of despair and guilt I had can't even express in words. We ended up having to call the police and report him missing. 3 hours later one of the officers found him as soon as I saw him and hugged him I was hysterical. My heart hurts for this mom 💔.

One of the hardest thing of that whole process was having to send pictures of my son to the officers incase they had to put his face on the news. I am truly blessed with neighbors who didn't even know me but went out and looked for my son. Even kids helped look for him. I just want to give this mom a hug because there wasn't enough done and people didn't take her seriously until to late. Just because you your kids are in a safe space doesn't mean there aren't bad people waiting for their chance to come in.

Ask your small child, "What does stranger mean?" "What is a stranger or what do they look like?" And then explain what an actual stranger is. When my children were small, I was shocked by their answers to that question. I couldnt believe the number of times I had told them all the things that we tell our children about stranger danger and all the while, they thought I was telling them not to take candy from a monster or boogeyman. It never occurred to me to define stranger.

I was born in 1997 in the UK. In 1991 a little boy called Ben Needham went missing & even though I was my Mum’s fourth child she was petrified because of it. Her & my older sister drummed into me my full name, my date of birth, address and our home telephone number. I could tell you all of that information at the age of 2 years old like a little mantra. Obviously at the time I had no idea why they had taught me those things just that it was a fun game. My older sister would also tell me that women can be bad people too & that if anyone asks me to come with them I should check with her or my mum first even if I know them. My sister was also fond of showing & telling me defensive moves to do if someone was to attack me but this was when I was older say 6/7 yrs old. I’m 25 years old this year & forever greatful for the stranger danger they instilled in me because it really has saved my life on many occasions even as a young adult. Priceless skills in my opinion.

When my grandma asked why I couldn’t sleep, I told her that I was scared that the monsters would get me. I can relate to how terrifying it can be when you can’t find your child. One time we were at this play park with our kids and we couldn’t find our son for 15 minutes. My mom did this to me when I was around 13-14 years old. We were at a public outdoor event and she let me go to a food truck for an elephant ear. I was on my way back and just kind of going slow and watching the event. She came up behind me and grabbed me. She didn’t drag me away or anything but I didn’t scream. I just froze too. Within seconds she revealed that it was her. But I’ll never forget what she said to me. ‘If that ever happens to you again you need to make a scene! It’s easy for people to snatch other people and get away with it.’ I wasn’t mad at her at all. To this day I’m actually grateful that she showed me how easy it was for someone to grab me and pull me into a vehicle or a home, etc.

I really made an effort to educate my daughters on "Stranger Danger" when they were young. I would makeup random scenarios to see how they would respond.....ie: What if a stranger asks you to help find their dog? What if a stranger offers you candy? What if a stranger tries to ask you for directions? What if a car slows down beside you? What if someone is making you feel uneasy or unsafe...What should you do? Sami was only 4 yrs. old, but her answers proved I had taught her well....lol. Anyway, one day I threw out the question, "What if a stranger walked up to you and said, "If you come with me I will buy you a pretty new dress". She responded, "Oh, well I think that would be ok" I almost died. "/

Seeing other almost abduction stories on here makes me want to share mine! So when I was little my dad took me to a Texas beach and my hair was pretty long and was getting messy so this woman came up to me and asked if she could fix my hair. She said she would watch me while my dad went to swim. When he came back the woman asked if she could take me back to her hotel room because I was tired, that way he could still have fun on the beach. HE SAID HE ALMOST AGREED TO LET HER TAKE ME!!!!! But then something felt wrong so he said no and came and sat next to me. Shortly after, she left with a man who my dad wasn’t introduced to and they got in a windowless white van and left…. 😳😳😳😳 You never know how close you come to danger.

Reminds me when I went to this beach in Brazil with my 2 year old and this girl wanted to take her swimming (we were at a playground) and even though she was also a child she was 9 and I didn’t feel comfortable so I went with both of them, then the next day we were at a different place ordering food and a lady that worked there fell in love with my daughter and was like let me watch her I’ll play with her you can enjoy your food and I let them play for a bit within eyesight and then started following them around lol even though I don’t think she was ill intended it’s better to be safe than sorry in these situations ! i remember being like 14 and seeing a little girl wonder around a parking lot so walked up to her and asked if she needed help she didn’t speak any english luckily i had a basic knowledge of spanish as i was walking her back to the walmart a man in a truck drove up to me and asked if i knew the little girl and if he wanted me to give her over to him to help her home i felt so scared for myself and her in that moment a grown man was trying to get me and this small girl into his truck i ran inside the walmart and found a worker and they helped me find her family sometimes i think about what if i didn’t help her that man could have got her or another adult could have just ignored her because of a language barrier she had been missing long enough that the police had been called i think about all the little girls and boys who don’t get helped and just swept away to never be seen again it’s so cruel that people can just hurt or ignore distressed children

I have a story about something seriously so so stupid that I did when my oldest (only child at the time) son was 4 years old at the time and I was asked to sub for a softball game. I had to bring Jared because my husband was working late that night. There was a group of kids that were going to play at the park and there were 2 teenagers that were apparently the teams unofficial "babysitters" and my friends on the team vouched for them. I let him go but in between innings I always went to check on him and he was having a blast. Well the last inning we were out on the field for longer than normal and then when the inning was over I was first up to bat so I went directly to bat. Anyways I was on second base when I saw a lady walking hand in hand with Jared and she was coming towards our diamond with him. I ran off of the field and went to them Well it turns out that he was left at the park all by himself and this lady saw him and was concerned ( thank God) I was crying so hard as she was yelling at me for leaving him alone etc.. my son is very lucky that this lady was watching out for him and that it wasn't someone with nefarious plans. That was the worst mistake I've ever made and tbh my husband threatened to leave me because of my irresponsibility that night. My son could have been snatched and it would have been all my fault for just trusting these girls when I didn't even know them. Jared is now 20 years old and my husband is still married to me lol. I know that this has a fine and happy ending but I don't want to imagine how it could have turned out.

@@HLJRMAI1 I’m not a parent myself but I think that if we didn’t make mistakes we wouldn’t be human. It’s unfortunate that we can’t really trust people with things such as watching children. My mom lost me in a grocery store when I was a toddler and had to get the whole store shut down while everyone looked and I ended up being hidden in the furniture section in a dresser. I don’t remember it at all but she says that I was trying to play a game😅. It makes me scared to be a parent cause you can do everything right and still look away for half a second and your child will have ran off or even in your case someone you trust might not be as cautious. I’m so glad everything worked out though cause I’m sure it was terrifying in the moment. These true crime videos make me be super cautious when I babysit cause I know how much evil is out there.

I was protective our our children, but still lost our son in a freak car accident, daughter now lives 2K away, but I was one of those parents that would never let our kids walk the streets alone, even when teenagers, because even that age they aren’t safe ….it’s a sick world out there, and I know in my heart that I did the best that we possibly could. We never ever had one ounce of problems from our son, we would explainable why he couldn’t do something and he just always accepted it. He never argued or tried to sneak out. Same with our daughter, but she was a bit huffy about it as her friends were allowed to, but then some parents don’t care or think about the dangers. I remember being horrified that a friend used to allow her son in year 8 at school go 15 kilometres on his own not a care in the world, often home after dark. I couldn’t stand the worry if that was me, but our kids it was Pre mobile phones too, they were just coming out as our son was nearing end of high school….. I don’t feel bad for being protective, and people can choose it they want to or not, but no one has the right to judge another or put pressure others if they are not comfortable with it.

@@karleet thank you it is the hardest pain of all, just like this poor Mum, loosing Morgan, but hers is worse never knowing. I truly don’t know if I could stand living not knowing, she is a strong woman, much stronger than me, same as any mum who’s child is taken or murdered. To loose a child a your worse nightmare in technicolor that’s on replay and replay and never goes away, time only teaches you how to get through each day, it never helps, and you never “get over it” not when you love you child. Sad but I know some parents who have lost children and have no idea of the date or month, cold and heartless. Parents who have a child taken , that’s a whole other level of grief, the never knowing and always wondering I know I wouldn’t cope, I barely do most days even after 16 years. As Stephanie says stay vigilant because what can even seem innocent can often be someone worst nightmare playing out.

I always tell my 10yr old daughter to always be aware of her surroundings. I tell her that she is not to go anywhere with anyone unless it is a specific family member. She is extremely vigilant. When we are out and about, she won't let me out of her sight and vice versa.

I lived in Alma for a year back in my twenties and discussed the case with a coworker. She was in her fifties and remembered when the kidnapping happened. The cops were stopping red trucks, looking for Morgan.

I'm surprised it wasn't found ditched as it would seem sensible to change vehicles. Although communication is still poor today but even worse back then, so I wonder what the radius was who was looking for that red truck.

I grew up in country Australia. Everyone had trucks like this, they're really handy for throwing everything in (including your kids and 10 of their friends. I don't know how we all survived). If you had a canopy it would be put on and off as needed for whatever you were hauling so I could totally see truck owner getting Morgan to where ever and just taking the canopy off and tossing it. Especially if it wasn't actually properly fitted for that particular truck.

Yeah kind of reminds me of the Delphi murders. How the hell does no one in that town recognize that truck? Or in the Delphi case the picture and voice of the killer.

Just made my first cup of coffee this morning. I'm already feeling Morgan and her little cat lady vibes. This is such a sad case. I couldn't even imagine, like how do you just go home and resume life after your kid disappears at a ballpark like that? It's terrible to think about.

My worst nightmare. My daughter is a HS senior and started driving the last year. The spreading of her wings has me always scared of the worst. I can’t imagine the pain and range of emotions that a parent would endure in this situation. Prayers for her family. I hope they find her regardless of the circumstances. Xoxo
