Wonderful video on Queen Claude. She needs her own book and movie. Her true piety and chastity were not feigned. Anne Boleyn was a lady in waiting to this great lady. She must have found great lessons in a queen’s behavior and dignity. Too bad she met that narcissistic monster Henry VIII who was covered in red flags. Run away Anne. You would have been better off in Ireland with Piers Butler.

I just finished Hunting the Falcon and Claude’s early death had me looking to learn more about her life Listening to your analysis, it sounds like Claude was in a similar position to Elizabeth of York? At least when it comes to being daughters of kings with better claims had they not been female Really loved your video! ❤

Completely agree with you and all the comments that Claude was such an admirable figure in her own right.. She knew her duty as queen consort, even despite her being of more royal lineage than her husband and mother- and sister-in-law.. thanks for dedicating this video to her!

Yay! I have been looking forward to this! I am reading Leonie Frieda's bio of Francois I right now, and I am so intrigued by all the women in his life. TBH I find them to be the most interesting thing about him.

SEVEN PREGNANCIES! The daughter of a King, the woman who SHOULD'VE been QUEEN! And the Tudors just reduced her to Francis' wife and getting hit on by Charles Brandon... lol

Because of Salic law France prohibits any female descendants to inherit the throne

What do u think of the Wikipedia's claim she 'very likely' had down syndrome based on accounts of her appearance? Apparently, a few few 'historians' think this. I think it is a bit far-fetched and likely not true.

I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.

@ElleHistory cool, I got the vibe it wasn't true. It literally just appeared out of nowhere. Their reasoning is ridiculous, too. Thanks for the reply. :)

What did she actually do? It doesn’t sound like she did anything but give birth.
@jamiemohan20493 күн бұрын
@apriljoy1094 she was Queen of France and a nice person. She wasn't a conqueror or lived long, just a forgotten Queen of the Devois dynasty. I'm more intrigued at how people are claiming her to be down syndrome off of a description that is just unflattering not a sign of having down syndrome and honestly offensive.

De Valois not Devois
