November 10th, 1975 two major events happened, some Canadian singer got some insperation for a song about a shipreck 17 miles off that coast of Whitefish Point in Lake Surperior, and my parents welcomed into this world thier 3rd child (me). Thanks for letting me hang out with you fellas for a couple of days, you’ve inspired me to get my ass back in the air.

I'll tell you what, KyleO: No video can do it justice, but I want to thank you for it, just the same. What your video couldn't capture, my memory filled in... the vivid colors, the contrast of the paper-birch tree, the blue-green of the water, even the chill of Lake Superior. I've been in South Florida for 20 years, now, and I sure do miss the environment of Michigan.... all but the politics. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Glad you had fun, man! That’s exactly how I feel every time I head South. Everything is different and interesting… and warm! 😂 I like the heat because it’s cold here 11 months a year.😁 But yeah, I hear where you’re coming from. The different trees, the different sounding birds where some are similar to back home but not quite the same. It’s really cool to see. That’s what I miss about working for myself. I could travel anywhere at any time. We’ll see how long I can handle this for.😆 Great stuff Kyle! 👍😎👍

Awesome video! I’ve got an off grid cabin 5 miles from Whitefish point on Lake Superior, it’s absolutely God’s country up there.

Nice work. Glad you enjoyed the U.P. Next time you are in the Marquette area, hit me up and I got a place for you and crew to stay and fly. Noticed you flew in Grand Marias for 30s and also roadside in Autrain. Camping in Grand Marias next weekend. The UP is a Gem. Cheers buddy!

Yeah, watch out for the poison Ivy there behind the hang-glider launch. That's a little field mouse. Lots of small critters and birds dine on them. Mostly pine trees up that far North. Lake Superior is the ultimate natural air conditioner. It can be 20 or so degrees cooler near Duluth MN than 20-30 miles inland. The rocks are very cool too! Nice Chilled out vacation, Kyle! 8^)

P.S. As far as the fish in the Great Lakes: there are some shallow water fish, as you saw, but most of the good fishing is in the deep water, which isn't that far out. It drops off pretty fast. Superior is over 1300 ft. deep and Michigan is near a thousand. In all that water there's not a single thing that is dangerous to humans. I went sailing/camping near Sleeping Bear Dunes on an island called South Manitou Island and met a British troop of Boy Scouts (whatever they call themselves). I guess I hadn't had my coffee yet so when the scoutmaster asked me if there were many sharks around the island I told him there were giant musky sharks, but they hardly ever eat people. It was a mean thing to do and I feel a little bad about it. In Michigan, other than bears and wolves and Moose (in the U.P.) there are no animals or snakes or spiders or fish that are harmful to people. Heck, even the bears are just the non-aggressive black bears. There aren't even any sandspurs (sand burrs). You can shuck down to your drawers and can wade through the murkiest swamp or the weediest fields, barefoot, and not worry about a thing. The summer mosquito is the worst critter you'll encounter in Michigan. In the U.P I think the mosquito is the state bird. Okay, I guess there are ticks. Check for ticks.
