For PCVR the way to go is VR Desktop. It improves massively the quality of the stock steamVR and Meta built-in streaming app, it's customizable, and if you have a PC with a 4000 Series Nvidia card, you can take advantage of the AV1 streaming codec, which almost doubles the performance and video quality.

Id say no because i tried it on two computers, one with a ryzen 5 2700 as well as a rig with a threadripper and they both played great

if you'd like to its not a requirement i did it to test out streaming was not a fan of the cutting out though much rather have it in headset

@@twoBitTech if you stream pcvr games to the headset and only play it on standalone then its NOT PCVR, its standalone vr, again deceiving viewers, if you dont have a pc you CANNOT play PCVR on the quest 3, you cant play half life alyx directly on the quest 3

I use it daily with glasses and I have no comfort issues. I have some 3d printed plastic rings that create a ridge around the lenses so that the glass of my glasses doesn't touch the glass of the headset lenses. The plastic rings are basically the magnetic mount of the VR Rock prescription lenses, but if you have high prescriptions, I can't reccomend VR Rock for custom prescription lenses as they do not thin the thickness of the lens.

the quest three headset is slightly lighter than the quest two headset, it weighs heavier because the default strap is heavier.

I would personally recommend the bobovr m3 battery pack. It is soooo mach comfortable and better from the original quest 3 headstrap

I’m currently saving to buy the 512 gb version so far I have £550 I cannot wait to get my hands on the meta quest 3 😃I had no idea it existed until a month ago when a colleague at work introduced me to it, in his words “once you play on the meta quest 3 you rarely go back to consoles” I was sold, I have the ps4 vr but I haven’t touched it in years for me there’s too much going on in regards to cables and setting it all up where the meta quest 3 is wireless which is perfect.

My opinion is that the 512 GB is not worth the extra 150$. I have the 128GB version for 5 months now. I use it daily, but never felt that I am limited by the storage. The 128Gb is enough to acomodate 2-3 large titles and a dozen more smaller ones - and time is limited anyway. The extra 150$ could better be spent on a BoboVR S3 pro strap and a AMVR Facecover which will increase your comfort greatly and will give you ~3.5h of battery time extra.

@twoBitTech since you are able to compare between the two of them. I can only imagine how clear the image is on the Apple Vision, but what i'm currious on how clean the camera feed is in the Apple compared to the slightly grainy feed on the Meta. The grainy look on the passtrough of the Meta should not be a result of the resolution of the display, but of the quality of the cameras. I am currious if apple has better cameras for this aspect.

id say its a combination of both, the screen and megapixels. the vision pro has about 2.6 times the amount but the quest has a greater resolving power meaning way better text reading from different angles. as for pass-through i think its more affected by the screens inside. thats where vision wins. also you dont get the super weird bending round your hands and arms like in the quest 3

yes i do :) half life, beatsaber are the ones i mentioned the ones i didnt include flight simulator, phasmophobia, among us vr, powerwash simulator

@@twoBitTech i also recomend [AMVR Upgraded PU Leather Facial Interface for Quest 3 with the ice cold silk] it swaps the facial interface and is prob one of the most comfy options out there. Also never go for the official accessories they are jsut bad

@@twoBitTech Confirming what has been said - I also have the BoboVR S3 Pro + AMVR Upgraded PU Leather Facial interface combo and it's a match made in heaven. I can stay hours at a time with it on my head without any issue. (and I wear glasses)

ahhh yes there is a difference, this will always be the case when you are hardwired into a pc. though the best resolution is in the apple vision pro. but there you are most definitely paying for it there. but its neither here nor there. i did notice screen tearing when streaming a game off a PC but its negligible in most cases to me. its to be expected and doesn't bother me. i guess for me its a easy experience over the best possible with the quest 3. im very curious what pcvr do you use i really am looking for something to compare it to.
