The US Congress wants China out of our drug supply chains. Companies and patients insist they stay.

The US Senate passed a bill which would force American companies to drop contracts with Chinese biotech companies and drugmakers before the end of this year. US executives panicked, and informed lawmakers that they couldn't possibly find other manufacturers for at least eight years.
The House of Representatives passed a revised bill that pushed back the deadline until 2012.
The US faces more drug shortages than at any time in decades, and American companies rely on Chinese biotech firms to create compounds worth billions of dollars in the US market.

They can. But it also hurt their own companies. They always try first to minimize their own loss. At the same time, they are opening up as wide a market as they can (central Asia, middle east, Africa, south america, and mostly Southeast Asia which is now its largest trading partner). The day of a complete decoupling will come one day when $ is no longer accepted for their tangible goods made with sweat and labour.

China wants to do business and not project dominance over the world. Their existing policies seem to prioritise the welfare of their 1.4 billion people over global dominance. Their role on the international stage, as a result of their economic position and goals, appears to be reluctant. This is understandable if we appreciate the fact that the only people with the power to remove the CCP are the Chinese people and not a foreign power. There is no benefit to cutting off the US if China simply wants to do business.

Thanks for your videos. You are an American living in China, so you see a lot of the good and the bad there, which is no secret--and the Chinese government knows it and only talks about their aims to continue one the path to being moderately prosperous-it’s a fair and good goal for a country with 1.45B people….now on the other hand please explain why there are no good politicians in the US government….how can an entire country the size of 350+M people be run by a bunch of insane lawmakers who are so hellbent belligerent to the point they will do ANYTHING to try to keep their hegemony because they cannot accept that they can no longer dictate to the world, to the point they can and will make their people suffer, to the extent they can even entertain war and risk a nuclear war….just because they think they must be exceptional and be number one, FOREVER….it’s bloody DEMENTED!

My father was sent to Japan from Taiwan to assist US government's war effort in Korean War and he was trained by an American officer. During my growing up, he always told me that American were can-do type of people, honest, brave and with high integrity. We later immigrated to US in 1980 and the American we met in US then were kind, honest and with high integrity. But, then Soviet Union collapsed and, without an enemy, American became arrogant. The goal was not to save the world from communism any longer but taking profits. The entire American culture shifted toward entertainment and money. We only debate about abortion and gay rights while the rest of the world continues to improve their economies. To answer your question for why there are no good politician in US, I think it is the loss of integrity in American culture in which money is the only thing matters, not people any more.

Health insurance companies can only make profits below a certain percentage of their revenue according to Obamacare. To increase the profit, it is mandatory to increase revenue, not reduce the cost. This is the reason the health insurance companies encourage rising cost of health care providers, more doctor visits, more unnecessary procedures, more lab tests, etc. American people are fooled by the notion of "market driven" health care. In fact, if you go to Asia, you will find single-payer system works the best because the government determines the basic cares. If you want more than basic, you can pay to get additional coverage. With single payer system, the health care providers work hard to reduce cost for more profits.

US is still the important role in this globe-- but it is not all of the world US printed too many green papers which out of the value it can produce. China is the biggest trade partners of 160 counties---

You might want to dig deeper into if the drug companies actually pushed for these bans in order to disrupt the supply chain, and have an excuse to raise the prices to even more ridiculous levels and then blame it on the disruption…similar to what has happened to many consumer goods, food, and fuel during and after the Covid pandemic and Ukraine.

America only occupies 4% of China’s total trade, therefore it is not worth for China to go through with such a hassle. Just sever all relations with the U.S. is the best policy.

This type of incidents are caused by American lawmakers too lazy (perhaps incompetent) to find out the background to their proposed laws and the consequences. It is the end of the road for the country if they continue this way.

It's the old Bruce Lee attitude: train every day, be 100% focused on what you do and then you become invincible. Meanwhile it seems the realisation that China is actually stronger than the US right now that is causing mental problems. US politicians are only practised in the art of pride and talking big and tough. This is cognitive dissonance on their part, but a group-like cogitative dissonance, which makes it so much more potent. China does not even need to go to war with the US even if it wanted to because the Bruce Lee approach alone causes it to destroy itself.

BTW It's actually Soda Ash that the USA has. Just in huge deposit The Chinese are apparently making synthetic Soda Ash using sodium chloride (salt). But in their desserts they plan to pump seawater into them. And the have the water evaporate create clouds change the environment/ ecosystem. Where there will be left over salt
