The sanctions are not about human rights but containment efforts against the BRI, solar energy, cotton and other labour intensive industries, which affect the livelihoods of the people. They were meant to smear China's reputation among the muslims and incite local unrest. A playbook that is too often played against weaker countries (e.g. Africa, South America, Asia). Therefore the sanctions will not end until the goals of containment are achieved. Still it is good that an impartial obejctive investigation has been carried out by the UN which unmasked the malicious nature of these sanctions. What 's happening in Gaza is opening the eyes to the true hypocrisy, double standards and lies by a certain hegemon. Wishing you a full speedy recovery.

Cuba has been sanctioned by the U.S. for 62 years since 1962 with a draconian trade blockade around that small Caribbean island in an effort to overthrow the Cuban Government. Has that succeeded? While originally directed at Fidel Castro for having the audacity and temerity to thumb his nose at U.S. hegemony (a'la the Monroe Doctrine), Castro is long gone, having passed away 8 years ago but the trade sanctions continue - and even despite a U.N. overwhelming 184 countries in the General Assembly voting to end the trade blockade vs 2 (the US and Israel) against and 3 abstentions, the U.S. simply ignored the wishes of the majority of the World, demonstrating its height of arrogance. So, what makes anyone believe that the U.S. will abide by the UN resolution to end the sanctions against Xinjiang? The U.S. has become a rogue nation which is isolating itself from the world.

Americans pioneered modern advertising. When America found it tough going to compete in cotton production, its propagandists (advertisers?) created accusations of genocide and forced labour. More recently, when the US found itself unable to compete in green energy products, it created (advertised?) the notion of overcapacity. There is no end to American creativity and advertising capability.

Great video. And congrats to Dr Alina for the truth and courage. We have studied the accusations related to Uyghurs and concluded that there's no reliable proof about the alleged abuses or crimes. Moreover, a country has no legal right to impose such sanctions against another country, given the territoriallity principle of legislative job of each country. And that kind of sanctions represents a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of another country, in case China. We're living under some kind of barbaric and irracional (dis)order. But we should understand that the sanctions don't aim protection of the uyghur population but aim to attack the china's state. So expecting the sanctioner to ammend his hand is like to expect the mercy of the butcher.

In fact, China is working toward that direction quietly. If China decouples from US market right now, it will hurt its economy and subsequently Chinese people. Chinese government is trying to expand its own domestic market. But, it will take time to change people's behaviours because Chinese people simply love to save money. Its saving rate is ~45% of its GDP, as compared with 3.6% in US. If Chinese people all the sudden are willing to spend the money like American, it can absorb the loss of sales from its US market. But, that is not a normal human response. If China decouples from US right now, it will trigger more saving by Chinese, hoping their saving will ease the hard economical cycle.
@dranzacspartan8002

@@DragonYang01 The reason why the people of China are able to save a lot more money than those in USA is because the government of China takes extremely good care of all its citizens (not so in USA ... unless you are in the 1% that own 90% of their country's wealth). In China, they have the most amazing Civic Infrastructures that are modern and extremely functions, right across China (you can get a modern apartment, in the City, for $400.00 a month ... in USA it's close to $2,000 a month. And China's civic transit systems are fast, safe, comfortable, and cheap ... quite the opposite of USA). Also, China provides CHEAP and AFFORDABLE quality Civic Services (not so in USA, they have the most expensive Civic Services in all the Developed Countries in the World). Hence, though people in China may have a lower salary than those in UISA, they have very low expenditure ... hence able to save a lot of their money. In USA, even with the higher salary, by the time the pay for all their basic needs to maintain their life style (transport, health, education, etc) they have very little money to save. Millions are forced to live Paycheck by Paycheck.
@DragonYang01
@DragonYang01 24 күн бұрын
@@dranzacspartan8002 You explained why Chinese people are able to save money, not why they don't spend money for more luxury lives. I live in Silicon Valley. Over years, I saved money to buy two rental houses. My renters, while not able to save money to buy their own houses, live far more luxury lives than I do. New cars and multiple vacation abroad annually, etc. American people can spend more than they can afford. This is just their culture to enjoy life now most important.

It's slowly but surely happening, the UA was China's largest trading partner, it's now No3, the others have gorn but the US has shrunk too. Exports from China to the USA have gone from over 20% to 17.1% and exports to the under-developed world have gone in the last 10 years from 15% to over 50% We are watching a tectonic shift before our eyes and should appreciate what this means, countries that have been exploited and jept poor for centuries are now lifting up out of that poverty - it won't be a one or two year change, it will take longer but it will be massive and, if the USA doesn't jump onboard, which is very unlikely that they will, they are going to be reduced to a new label I cal the Declining World - Australia too. Much of its foreign trade is with Central Asian countries and Russia, and now with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). With China implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and other existing FTAs with other trade partners globally, that equates for opportunity for Xinjiang-produced items like clothing, machinery and equipment, chemicals, steel, autos and automotive parts, textiles and food products. The Uyghurs in Xinjiang are also becoming aware of the fact that the U.S. is not their friend by the sanctions thrown up against their products. Nice going, U.S.! Decoupling from the US seems like the only way for the world and that process is already in place. Does not the US government see that? Or they're so blinded by the power they enjoyed for so long that they don't understand that their behavior is equal to sawing the branch they are sitting on.

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely" - the U.S. having gained the "Number 1 Superpower" after the fall of the USSR, surveyed all before it and saw that it now has immense power over its dominion and thus, is not hesitant in doing whatever it likes and wants. It has become a corrupted force without fully realizing that it is slowly becoming a "rogue" nation, supported only by the very few, but shunned by the MAJORIY of the countries in the world if it keeps along the same path of corrupted power.

The U.S. pulled their (sanctions) on Japan in the late 1970's to stop Japan's growth/prosperity to which it succeeded. Now, the U.S. is trying to pull another one off on China hoping to succeed. Instead of building friendly relations and work to cooperate more and more with other countries in order to move forward and rebuild its economy, it is sad to see them embarking on something which is going to destroy itself.

Time for huge apologies by Western critics', mostly women, who heaped vitriolic abuse on Michelle Bachelet for her report on Xinjiang after her fact-finding visit to the region three years ago.
@jerrystakeonchina799

Michelle Bachelet did all the right things, the report she gave was a verbal one to the UN and was highly positive, she also gave a presss conference on leaving China and had some gipes but was overall very complimentary. The report was not her, it didn't have her signature was not released by her and had no endorsment from her - I think there were evil forces afoot that day - I wouln't blame Ms Bachelet for anything as she was old, tired and stepping out of the role into a well-earned retirement. It was also her who set up the conditions for this most recent visit to take place

As a Chinese, it is difficult to understand why foreigners believe lies that occured in Xinjiang. The Han Chinese have strict one child policies but do not include Xinjiang, so Xinjiang's population is growing rapidly. Xinjiang students can attend the same universities with lower scores as Han Chinese. More than 80% of cotton in Xinjiang is cultivated by machines. How come workers be forced? What benefits can the government gain? On the other hand, is it not contradictory for foreign media to promote the serious unemployment of Chinese people without jobs?

It's not like you can prevent every virus from entering your body, there is no excuse needed for things we can't control, but the ones we can control. Sanctioning a whole region's trade is never a sign of wanting to prevent misuse of trade but rather causing destruction in the region, otherwise you would pick out the companies you want to sanction instead of sanctioning any company.

What we need is a legal precedent to firmly establish the illegality of US's unilateral sanctions. China has the size and resources to push back against the US's lawbreaking, but it's the smaller victims of US bullying that needs help most urgently.
