I'm pulling back on stacking and collecting this year. That said, my only priority here is the Morgan/Peace reverse proof set. After seeing the reverse proof Eagle set, I'm sold on the Mint's ability to provide stunning examples of reverse proof coins. Tack onto that the desirability of the Morgan/Peace design, and that's a winner for me. One for me and one for dad, only reason I signed up to the subscription service.

I have the reverse morgan and peace dollars on pre order...I did the 21s in three of each and a 6 coin set that cost under $700 graded are selling for north of $2000...I can see the reverse set (if the graders will do a two coin slab) reaching $1000 for PF70UC....a $650 inc grading could net the maximum buy around $1000 profit.

While I agree, selling these coins on the secondary market one can turn a great profit, but there are a lot of newbies that don’t about the ‘ window of opportunity ‘ or have even been told (in fb metals groups or KZbin channels) I’ve seen them where they hang onto them for six months or a year or two years and try to sell them and can’t understand why no one wants them any longer. I hope more people do help in educating these newer buyers.

It doesn't seem so long ago that spot prices for palladium were roughly half that of gold. Like, $600 when gold was $1200. I'm definitely passing on the 2023 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set. The ticket price is too high, at $201 per set. I used to by the regular Silver Proof Sets when they were about half what they cost now. I'm going to have to pass on them at $105 each. You said you were mainly into silver. But, you're also into low mintages. The Innovation Reverse Proof coins have a limit of 50,000. I had a gap of a few years in my coin collecting and missed the start in 2018. Since discovering it, I've caught up and have completed both the Proof and Reverse Proof sets through 2022, and plan to continue. I'm also subscribed to all iterations of the Morgan and Peace Dollars...missed the start and didn't get any 2021s. They've really appreciated and I probably never will buy them unless my budget has a miracle. I've also been working on US Mint Sets, with plans to gather all from 1959-present. I've only got about half of them so far. Good start, I think.

That missing reed is not a very good security idea. I purchased, late 2022, 5 fake AE,s with the reed missing at 7:30. Weight was spot on too, but other factors were off. I got my money back so all is good. I have had a subscription With the mint for about 15 years or more. They would not let me subscribe to the Morgan or Piece dollar when they first came out But I was right there when they went on sale at noon with my account open with the mint ready to go. The mint site crashed and when I got back in just minutes later they were sold out. I was extremely upset as we all know the big dealers in the secondary market had plenty for sale at hundreds of dollars as I knew they would. The mint apologized to folks like myself for their incompetency but what good did that do after the fact???!!? Of course I refuse to buy them as I refuse to be ripped off by those dealers friendly with the mint. I have, for years now, a subscription for the Proof Eagle and the proof silver yearly coin set. I get the yearly Philla. and Denver uncirculated coin set that are a bargain too. Otherwise I don't trust the mint when it comes to those sets we all know will go up in value, I think they are paid off by HSC, and the other big dealers. They, the big buyers/dealers have their employees, family, neighbors and friends ready to buy when limited to 2/3 units to an address, low per household sale. Did you ever notice only one or two are to be sold to an address, the mint sells out but a week or so later the rip off dealers have a hundred or more for sale at 5 to ten times what the mint wanted??? Just my two cents on the US mint and the secondary dealer crooks.................PS....... not all dealers are crooks.

I logged on to 3 accounts (2 for my 2 apartments + 1 for my brother) and got 10 each of the Morgan-CC and -O for each account (60 coins). It was crazy dealing with the timeouts, pauses, and CAPTCHA challenges by CloudFlare, and I was left somewhat frazzled. Later, when the Mint offered the coins again, I got 99 of the -CC, but missed out on more of the -O; I was using only my primary account, and did help a friend buy 10 Morgan-O that he had left in his bag from the initial sale, which already netted him his 10 Morgan-CC. The Mint then delayed the sale of the other coins, and when it brought them out again, it cut down the limits to 3. Again, I was able to buy 3 each of the Morgan-S and -D (18 coins), and later the same for the Morgan-P and Peace-P. I also was able to bag 99 of the Morgan-D, and then 50 of the Peace-P. Of those 344 coins, I sold 314 to a local coin dealer; the profit paid for the 5 full sets I kept, plus an AE gold proof coin. I also bought several AE Type 1 and 2 gold coins and sets for him, and then lots of AE silver -W and -S coins (242 coins), plus the reverse proof set. When I made a spreadsheet on my purchases, the total was over $70K; I had to balance out my ordering across the accounts using the credit cards with the available credit limit as the various orders started to ship, and I got paid. One time, the Mint billed my card, but it sent the parcel via snail mail, and I got worried about having to cover my credit card bill before the coins arrived and I could hand them over to the dealer to get paid. I'm not buying past my cash reserves again!

Thanks for this video, and the other video on subscriptions... I hadn't realized you could subscribe to pre-purchase and you were not charged anything until stuff ships. Especially for getting the reverse proof Morgan/Peace, if you had any interest at all it seems crazy not to subscribe to that right now, I'm really surprised those subscriptions are not yet sold out. What do you think about the American Liberty High Relief gold coin coming out this summer? I think the last one that came out in 2021 did really well.

The 2021 had a relatively low mintage, which helped it sell out initially. I got the 1st in 17 seconds, and the 2nd in 25 seconds, and the confirmations came in a minute later. But the coin was available for more than 2 days during the first sale! However, many folks who ordered it, later cancelled their orders, or the Mint boosted its in-stock inventory by minting to the allowable limit, so 21DA quickly became available again, and then took a while to sell out. I bought one for a friend, and another for a coin dealer; they thought it'll be hard to bag and buy, like the V75's and the Morgan & Peace, so they asked me to do it. Anyway, you can see high-resolution images of the new 2023 American Liberty (23DA) design by visiting the Mint's image gallery. Looks like it has an ancient bristlecone tree on one side, and an eagle on the other.

Thanks for this video...I have subscribed for the first time. But I spotted what I think is a mistake on the mint's website. They list mintage limits of 400,000 for Morgan and Peace Proof dollars...but the mintage limit shown for the Morgan and Peace Uncirculated is only 275,000! I suspect those two numbers should be reversed.

Nope. Proof coins are more popular than Uncirculated, so the Mint makes more of the Proof coins. Look at the American Eagle gold and silver coins for comparison: 22EB vs 22EH, and 22EA vs 22EG. (The 2023 AE Proof coins are out, but not the Uncirculated.) The mintages for Commemoratives follow the same idea.

The 2021 Morgan & Peace have a different uncirculated finish, which many call "burnished", so I look at the 2021 as a separate one-off series. [I have 5 full sets of the 2021 M&P series -- $2040 of overkill. I got the 2021 AE golds & silvers for the last Type 1 & first Type 2 of those 2 series -- I'll never get a full AE gold or silver 1-ozt collection. I'll gladly trade them all away for a single 2020-W AE gold V75 to reduce my collection to 2 coins. (I've got the silver V75.)] I know other private collectors, so I'm putting a minimum of 1 for everything in the set of 5 accounts I maintain (2 of mine, 3 of relatives/friends) to keep my minimum orders in the enrollment queue; in case the next year has some low-mintage, high-demand coin that has a low HHOL, I'll be able to get them. Going to 0 takes me out of the queue, and joining in next year puts me at the back, risking me not having my order fulfilled. [My friend is enrolled for 4 AE silver -W, but the Mint once cut HHOL to 3, so I got into the online frenzy to buy 1 for him. What a nightmare! I told him to spread his enrollments with my acct, since I don't buy AE yearly.] Anyway, we're keeping 5:5:5:5:3 of M&P between the 5 accts, and are buying the max only for the set to let a coin dealer friend get 22 more. Thus, I've set up the orders as 1:1:1:1:5 for each acct. *This dealer is cautious, and thinks only the set will sell on the secondary market.* Even at that, he isn't sure, so I told him he has a week before the set ships in Nov to finalize his totals, or I may cut down his share to 2 or 0. American Innovation Business Strikes actually aren't a bad buy at all., Depends on the year and grade. These coins sell on ebay between $2.50 - $5 for each and the prices have been rising slowly. I have seen dealers in magazines offer substantial premium for rolls - on ebay I have seen about $45 - $60 for a $25 roll (US Mint charges about $35). I would avoid the Limited Edition Silver Proof set as all it is is a Kennedy, dime and Quarters silver and an ASE --- cheaper to get the silver proof set and buy a proof ASE.

Both companies are on same level. Do not be sketchy/scared/concerned, just fill up the forms and send them, first time is always a little uneasy :) You can also go to local coin store and ask them to help you out to fill out the form. Those companies deal with millions of dollars every month, nobody will take your (or mine) coins. Good luck man.

The limits have gone from HHOL of 3 to 25 for each coin and 5 for the set; the prices have been pegged above the initial estimates for enrollments. If you want to max out the quantities, then be sure you have the credit limit available each time the coins ship: $76*25*2=$3800 in Jul, $80*25*2=$4000 in Sep, and $185*5=$925 in Nov. That's a total of $8725!

Do we believe that some of these will end up at LCS? And if so what type of premiums do you think will be on these? I've never bought anything directly from the U.S. Mint but the premiums on the Silver Eagles from the U.S. Mint are outrageous compared to the premiums at my LCS. I guess the big difference will be the mintage numbers? @@kylefrace6204: The US Mint makes *numismatic grade* American Eagle coins in silver, gold, platinum, and palladium. You can buy these coins directly from the Mint. These coins are specially made, handled, and packaged to be as perfect as possible, which is why they have high premiums. The US Mint also makes *bullion grade* coins, largely silver and gold. You cannot buy these coins directly from the Mint. The Mint uses a small list of approved sellers, who form a distribution system for the Mint. They buy in large quantities directly from the Mint, and turn around to sell the coins to others at a small mark-up. You can buy from the approved sellers, or anyone down the food chain. The mark-up tends to grow, the farther down the chain you go, but normally follow spot metal prices. These are the coins you may see people touching with their bare hands, and physically stack them without regard to scratching or smudging them. This video is focused on the numismatic grade coins, not the bullion coins. Be sure to learn the distinction, or your money may be misspent.

I LOVE ASE, but the security micro maple leaf on the canadian maple leaves I could see being harder to replicate accurately. The ship dates are in July ($76 per uncirculated coin), September ($80 per proof coin), and November ($185 per reverse proof set). The order limits have been raised from 3 for each of them to 25 for each coin, and 5 for the set. As of 2023-04-05, I can adjust my order quantities without any problem. This likely means there's an oversupply of available product than the actual demand. If this trend persists, it means flipping isn't going to be profitable, so buy only what you want to keep or give away as gifts; anything more poses a potential loss.

The US Mint's *numismatic* products, such as these 5 Morgan & Peace coins, rely on numismatic value and FOMO fears to drive their prices; these products already have massive mark-ups, and are very sensitive to timing, as demand and prices usually drop precipitously after release. The Morgans & Peace each have 0.858515625 ozt of silver, yet cost $76, $80, and $92.50 per coin. Compare those numbers against spot silver prices.

This year's American Eagle 1-ozt platinum proof coin is 23EJ. The US Mint has already sold nearly 7K of its maximum 12K mintage. In recent years, the 2 consecutive platinum series have been slow sellers. Four of the six recent designs are still available for sale; of the the list from 18EJ to 23EJ, 19EJ and 21EJ are at "Remind Me" status, whereas the rest are at "Add to Bag".

Missing reed is different depending on strike (proof, unc, bullion), also if you note the missing reed location on the unc silver eagle you had up, it would indicate a medallion flip instead of coins flip,which I am positive they are not doing.

The AE silver is minted as a coin, not a medal. A missing reed at 3 o'clock of the obverse is at the same position on the reverse. You can easily check out these pairings: 12 & 6; 1 & 5; 2 & 4; 3 & 3; 7 & 11; 8 & 10; 9 & 9.

I’m subscribed to all Morgan’s/peace dollars (maximum amount that is allowed) and will probably ask some friends to subscribe for Reverse proof set. I’m pretty sure that graded PF70 will give you good profit. Even if people will not have much money due to inflation etc, those will keep their value overtime - first ever in proof/reverse proof + mintage is not too huge. Also have all ASE on subscription (1 of each just for collection).

But I’m guessing by the time fall rolls around the Mint will be selling them at or around $250 Other than the V75 Silver Eagle prof, I haven’t purchased anything from the U.S. Mint. They’re extremely over priced and any “popular” product that comes out is an absolute headache to buy due to their antiquated servers. And dealers being able to purchase more than their general customer base. They can do much better

Many kids these days don't collect coins, and when they get them as an inheritance, will unload them at some coin shop that'll pay pennies on the dollar. I've even seen kids open up a proof set to spend the shiny coins at face value.

The US Mint has tried to counter the tactics of flippers by setting the household order limit (HHOL) to 3 for those Morgan & Peace products. The mintage limits (MLs) are fairly high (400K, 275K, 250K), and the items haven't sold out yet, so the Mint has raised the HHOL to 25 for each of the coins, and 5 for the set. Interestingly, they still haven't sold out -- the flippers haven't rushed in to buy out these products. Thus, you aren't prevented from getting them via subscriptions now. Don't wait until the release dates, as others who don't know about the enrollment programs will be competing unnecessarily to get these products, and may end up missing out getting them for themselves and for gifting. If you're looking to flip for a profit, consider what the demand is now, and order accordingly. You can modify your order quantities as late as 3 days before the release/ship date. Dropping the numbers is easy, however, raising them may not work if too many people have ordered them.

Why is the U.S mint that’s run by a clueless Human Resources flunky ending up to the likes of Amtrak and the U.S Postal service? Mints around the world are ahead of us by leaps and bounds on product, quality and security features. Great job with another year of a missing reed and no fractional gold buffalos U.S mint🤦🏻

The missing reed is just one of several security features for the American Eagle silver and gold coins. This info is given to the public. Some more sensitive security features have been given to only the approved sellers of the bullion coins, and the most sensitive security features are known only by the US Mint. For fractional gold, you can buy AE gold coins in 1, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10 ozt.
