I think the Elijah// Katerina flashback, is short but very underrated. You see that he was truly the first man to ever fancy her before she possessed any sort of supernatural powers. It’s sweet, the OG vampire bloodline is interesting to stay the least. I always wondered how Katherine got a British accent in this. Lol 😊

The way we saw Tyler be so quick to anger and not have control over his emotions because of his werewolf gene even before he turned is what I think makes Klaus the more dangerous brother. His werewolf gene makes him so mercurial

I love how Elena is doing everything she can to save all her friends even if she might die, the selfless one. I also love Nina and Daniel’s chemistry.

I'm really in a "❤ Klaus" kind of time right now. I think it's very sweet. The timing you and a couple of other reactors are at in the show. First love stages of a Klaus that is the most interesting, well-developed, smart, likable characters. They really go all out in "rounding out our villain" in TVDU through Klaus.

However you are right, Klaus is more unpredictable because he has less impulse control, when he gets angry or feels hurt he attacks, this is caused by the fact that he is a werewolf and since he is also a vampire, everything is amplified. Elijah is much more in control of himself, which is not to say that this is a good thing, the moment he perceives someone as an enemy he is as lethal as Klaus, if not more so at times (although this aspect is seen more in the originals).

I love that when Jenna and Elena talk around 10:54, Jenna's ultimate priority and thought isn't: wow I've been left out of this, it's "this isn't your responsibility -- you shouldn't have been having to bear this yourselves. I'm supposed to take care of you." And that's why I really love Jenna as a character! "Guys! This is only season 2!" 😂😂 The discussion after the episode always has me howling, and this is no different 😂😂 I love how in-depth you went with Damon and Andi (I'm assuming is the spelling of her name!)

my favourite thing about these shows with 20+ episode seasons is they really have time to ramp up to the finale. Sh!t just starts hitting the fan and information starts being revealed and it doesn’t stop for several episodes in a row. It’s just so juicy and so good

I disagree about Stefan. Stefan will and does let her put herself in horrible situations that indanger her life. Hes the extreme of letting her make any decision. Damon is the extreme of not letting her make any decision when it comes to her safety. They both need to try and move towards the middle of each other. Both are bad Stefan needs to put his foot down more and Damon needs to back off more but I dont mean put his foot down in a controlling way but just not being on board with her bad decisions. They are the extremes of each side. Some will prefer one extreme over the other but both need to learn to move to the middle. Damon is willing to let her make a plan and decision but it has to be a sound plan and a smart decision or he feels he needs to look out for her. While Stefan will look out for her but if she says I'm doing this I don't care how dangerous it is he will let her do it and he needs to wake up sometimes and realize this is a 17 year old girl him and Damon have so much more experience in life and they both no better than her and I get they aren't her parents but you don't let your friend play Russian roulette just because your not their parent.

The thing with Stefan is that he hardly ever challenges Elena. Him trusting her is great bit he never challenges her opinion or actions. And he holds back alot of what he wants for it. Selfless. Damon is very selfish in his love. He wants Elena (safe) and will do whatever even go against her and her wishes for it.

@@olavihekandjo2928 (SPOILERS) Yes though Damon can be selfless in his love towards Elena and Stefan. I do think that Damon grows throughout the show to trust Elena to take care of herself but he's still always going to try to take care of the problem without Elena having to ever put herself at risk. Damon isn't locking her up he just fights back when she's being reckless he pretty much everytime backs down once he realizes she's not going to listen. Like I said some will prefer one extreme over the other I prefer Damon with her but I understand people who prefer Stefan with her. It's weird with Stefan for me because he acts like Damon when it comes to Damon's safety he doesn't care if he's taking Damon's choices away he's doing what he thinks is best but he want do it with Elena and sometimes I wish he would.

You’re definitely right about the brother’s dynamics. Stefan was a bit too nonchalant with Elena potentially dying, and Damon was not okay with that plan, that might not be foolproof. He is more protective while Stefan is a little bit too passive because he doesn’t want to upset elena. I enjoy how Damon is challenging her, becuase elena is not always right when it comes to these decisions. Not to mention, damon has some trust issues, with people betraying him over and over throughout the years.

@@Strife93not to mention…. (SPOILERS DOWN BELOW ) Especially the incident that happens in season 3 when Stefan saves Matt becuase elena asks him too instead of saving elena and lets her die. Damon on the other hand, would have saved elena and left Matt to die, despite Elena’s decisions. Damon wanted her to be human so she can have a family one day. It shows how selfless he is, when it comes to Elena. This is why I always preferred Damon with elena, over Stefan any day. Stefan would save the world and let Elena die, while damon would save elena, and let the world burn.

the invitation! one of my favorite moments in the franchise is when Elijah steps into the doorway of a house full of his enemies who were SURE he couldn't get in, not uninvited!ha!we weren't shown what happened next, but they didn't have to ! 😉

I think Klaus is an acquired taste (I don't know if that's what you say in English when you mean you start to like something the more you try it), at first I couldn't stand him, then he started to intrigue me when they show us he's not just a monster, that he is a character with a very complex psyche. Then when I watched The Originals I couldn't help but love him, Klaus became my favorite character in the entire TVD universe.

I read the book series and watched the drama adaptation. Also watched The Originals as well as Legacies. In my opinion, The Originals is the best of the 3. Team Klaus here hahahaha. Elijah and Damon are also favourite characters of mine. I really don't care about Stefan. The Originals is a must-see. Way, way better than The Vampire Diaries.

Yes I do to but clearly because of Damon's Vampirism it does something that makes him lose control and feed to feel relief and people hate him for that while Stefan has a similar situation where he loses control and becomes the Ripper but is looked at as almost a victim because Stefans affliction has a name and Damon's doesn't. I'm not talking about when Damon is just being an asshole. I mean in these situations where he literally is losing control and wants to feed so bad just like Stefan because the more they feed the less they feel. I love both brothers I just wish sometimes people would see that Vampirism affects Damon's actions as well not to the same extreme but Damon wasn't like this as a human.

28:45 JD is completely right about Damon’s personality. He has deep rooted trust issues from loosing Katherine to getting betrayed so many times by the people around him. He’s not thinking rationally because he already lost Katherine, and he feels like he’s going to lose elena too. He has no good reason to trust elijah, despite him portraying himself as trustworthy. Elija could turn on a dime at any time, and Damon is not comfortable with the unpredictability of an original. He feels like he’s in a rock and a hard place. He’s very protective of Elena, and his approach is more forward while Stefan’s is more laidback. Elena isn’t right all of time, and sometime her decisions with her life can be unwise. But at the same time, Elena has to make her own decisions too.
