Gosh I've enjoyed your journey through this cookbook! I especially love this wrap-up video with all your humility (from amateur cook to an amateur cook with a bit more confidence), honest impressions of the book (five year old Eli needing pictures), and cooking up your favorite recipe (which I will soon be making for Christmas morning breakfast). Please know that you are one of my favorite KZbinrs and that your work planning, cooking, filming, and editing is truly appreciated and loved by many more than just myself. Thank you again, and I'd love to see more lovely content from your wonderful channel!

Hello from Georgia. I've had that book for at least 20 years. I used to watch Isa Chandra and Terri on their utube "the ppk" - I think you can still watch it. Isa Chandra is such a unique person who does her own thing her way. Haven't touched that book for years, but I'm going to look up these recipes and make them. 1st time watcher; I like your style - take care. I'll be back. p.s. Have you checked out her "Appetite for Reduction" cookbook; some delish stuff in there.

I love everything about this channel, this epic series, your perfectly normal kitchen, and the tenacity to cook through over 200 recipes!!! 🥇🏆🏅 I’ve had this book for years, I love the deli mac salad- learned that only radishes bring that tangy snap! I think I will buy the 10th Anniversary edition based on your rec. Thank you for all your delightful insight🙂🤍🙋🏼♀️

Thanks so much! That means a lot 🙂 I have to admit, the deli mac salad was not one of my favorites originally, but I'll have to make it again because I love creamy macaroni/potato salads. I agree about needing pictures in my cookbook. I often check amazon reviews to see if people complain about the lack of pictures before buying a book. I like to eat with my eyes before I make a recipe.

I haven't tried all the recipes in this book, but I will try your top ten. I like the Acorn Squash and Black Bean Empanadas p.55, but I only make the filling (can't be fussed with empanadas) and put it in a wrap and grill it like that, eat it with quac on top. Love the Curried Carrot dip p.62, with cucumber slices for dipping. For sweets, I like the Chocolate Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies p.236. Love your channel! What can we expect now? Are you going to go through another cookbook? Maybe feature some of your own creations?

Thanks for what you're doing here Eli and Luke. I've only recently found your channel, but it's quickly become one of my favorites. It's obvious you truly care about what you're doing. When I was starting my vegan journey a friend gave me her copy of the original Veganomicon. I found it overwhelming and didn't get very far in it before passing it on to my sister. This video convinced me to give the 10th anniversary version a try. I agree... It's sooooo much better, like you said, in every way but one. They omitted the red lentil-cauliflower curry recipe (#6 on your list) and replaced it with chickpea cauliflower curry (pg 282). Did you choose an omitted recipe on purpose so I'd have to go out and buy the original version too? lol Again thanks. Truly enjoy your onscreen personality Eli and Luke's editing is excellent too. Cheers!

Charlie! This is one of the kindest messages we've ever gotten--I truly appreciate it. And, I do remember there being 1 or 2 recipes they took out of the Anniversary edition, but I didn't realize one of them was in my top 10!! 😂 I'm glad you mentioned that. I'm also really looking forward to trying some of the new breakfast recipes (specifically the sausage, and tofu scramble). Let me know if you've already tried those--I'd love to know what you thought. Thanks again for your support and kind words, and I'm glad we provided some inspiration 😃

@TheVeganTestKitchen4 жыл бұрын
Yes! It has all that stuff--however, they don't go into great detail with knife skills, so don't expect a full course. It's mainly how to cut some common things like onions and garlic. They do talk about how to cut some of the more uncommon fruits/vegetables in some of the recipes though. There are a lot of great tidbits on cooking/equipment, etc.

Could you give us your 5 least fav and why?
@TheVeganTestKitchen4 жыл бұрын
Now you're making me work! 😆 I think I'd have to narrow my least fav down to: *Manzana Chili Verde (ironically our first recipe); it was too sweet for what I was expecting. I think I would like to make it again to see if my taste has evolved. *Sweet Squash in Mole Sauce; I think I'm just not a huge fan of mole sauce, and paired with squash, it just wasn't doing it for me. However, using the mole sauce on/in the Mole Skillet Pie was delish. *Whole Wheat Soda Bread; it's been a while, so I can't pinpoint why I didn't like it--it just didn't have a lot of flavor to me. *Ancho Lentil Soup as well as Plantain & Pinto Stew; again it's been a while for these, I just remember I didn't like them that much, or at the very least, didn't leave a big impression. That being said, I would actually like to make some of these again to see if my tastes have changed or cooking skills have improved, lol.
