Just received these both today from Amazon. Cool stuff. I'm going to figure out how to use these with League of Dungeons, Dungeon Saga (+ SagaOrigins) and Dungeon Universalis, Dragonbane and Tanares 5e.

For Kill, Sample, Process, their Giant/big book of Cyberpunk battle mats is pretty good!

Sorry to be “that guy” but they pronounce their brand name Loki but for obvious reasons they don’t spell it like that.
@TheDungeonDive

I will most likely continue to pronounce it loke. LOL. It's like Moog vs Moog. I'll never remember the right way because I've said it wrong for years. :) Thanks for the correction though!

I also want to be “that guy”, I won’t be sorry though 😂 “Loke” is the Swedish/Danish/Norwegian spelling, and it’s not pronounced “Loki”. As their brand name, they’re free to pronounce it Throatwobbler Mangrove, if it makes them happy. But if they’re using the already existing word, they’re pronouncing it incorrectly.

The Loke stuff is great for home brewing or tactical miniature gaming. My Long Road set came a few weeks ago and I agree - it's a great addition to a gaming library. I'd be willing to bet a Sci-fi set is coming!

These look good, but I already have all the spiral bound books, and a severe lack of space, so I’ll pass. Great video, though! 👍😁

Great video as always! But more whimsy more whimsy! There's enough grit, there's enough dark, there's enough crime, there's enough of the other types of fantasy out there! There's not enough whimsy, the world is full of whimsy we don't need more darkness! ;-)

I love whimsy. I just got done covering 2 Tom Wham games. Lands of Galzyr was my number 1 game of 2022. Pauper’s Ladder is one of my favorite games. :).

How would you convert these from D&D to any other game ?

There are many resources online for converting systems. Just google it. You’ll find them.

Thanks for reviewing these. I have a lot of Loke products and will be adding these. They make a lot of stuff that helps the solo player and I appreciate that!

"A little more gritty would be nice?" With how much you dig Mork Borg im surprised that system didnt have something Loke's Battle Mats provide already. That or DCC, which i honestly thought they provide in spades already. The only thing i dont like about KS stuff, especially for stuff like TLGs KS is that ihdk when they will sell KS items proper in their stores or its only available in their KS.

I don’t really like DCC. MB doesn’t really have anything like these kinds of complete box sets.

Such amazing content in these two, and yeah I really like Loke’s, purchased my first set after seeing you showcasing one in another video and then making sure that it became available through my local hobby store! :))

As these sets include new unique monsters, don't you think they should have included Monster Tokens or Standees to represent them in games? What would you use on the battle maps to represent them in your game?
@TheDungeonDive
@TheDungeonDive Жыл бұрын
I’ve got a bunch of pathfinder pawns and wooden tokens I’d use. Or just use theater of the mind. At the price I wouldn’t expect these sets to include all the tokens or standees.
@Caluardo
@Caluardo 8 ай бұрын
@@TheDungeonDive I get the theatre of the mind argument, but it does seem bizarre to have gridded battle mats and not at least include some tokens for the unique creatures, even if you had to cut them out yourself from cardstock.

Didn't back it for its being 5E focus and it's a pity the premade adventures and 5E stat cards are not particularly useful to my own games. How would you compare these two kits with Untold Encounters? The older Dungeon Run book (now discontinued) provides random generators for each individual tile in the Dungeon tile book (not found it the later Untold Encounters though). I really like the foldable map format more than the spiral bound book as the former is 100% compatible with all other 1-inch grid maps/tiles out there.
@TheDungeonDive

The spiral bound stuff is also 100% compatible with everything. That’s what I use most.

I sold my copy of dungeon mat books a few years ago as it was way too big and cumbersome for my table when both books are opened. Also I find the lack of numbered mat and flavour description makes it less useful in generating random dungeons. These two new product seem to fix all the issues I previously experienced! Hmmmm, maybe I will need to get these again!
