@pedrosilvaproductions6 жыл бұрын

@RanEncounter6 жыл бұрын
Glenn Ford That does not do much if you are not willing to delid and change the thermal paste inside the CPU aswell. The initial thermal paste is fine if you are not delidding your CPU.
@RanEncounter6 жыл бұрын
Glenn Ford Well the effect of just changing thermal paste on the outside (without deliding) is around 3-5°C which is not that much for your average user. With delidding you get 7-10°C which can be very significant for overclockers. So IMO if you are not deliding your CPU, no need to bother with the thermal paste.

My only thought as to why they let this video out the door, was that they had a deadline (probably set by Capital One) that they either missed or were on "the Verge" of missing (see what I did there). They probably did a show of hands for who wants to build and test a $2000 PC, had someone jot down a script, shot the video in a few hours, sent it to editing and threw it on KZbin to hit the deadline. 2:35 - Just so we’re clear on this, that is NOT an NVMe SSD, but rather a SATA 3 SSD (the drive has the gap on both sides). I watched Rich’s reaction (from ReviewTechUSA), and heard the drive mentioned as an NVMe SSD, then thought I saw the gaps on both sides of the SSD, but this reaction video confirms it for me. I haven’t done much with building systems and all that, but I’ve done enough research and watched plenty of build videos to know this guy mixed up NVMe with SATA 3, along with messing up a lot of other things.
@Sevicify6 жыл бұрын
While this particular drive (Kingston - UV500 480GB M.2 SSD) is indeed using SATA not all B+M keyed M.2 drives (ie: gaps on both sides) necessarily use SATA. The Plextor M6e M.2 SSD for instance used AHCI over PCIe 2.0 2x providing greater than SATA 3 speeds, and MyDigitalSSD SBX 1TB NVMe M.2 is a B+M keyed NVMe drive with rated speeds 3 times that of SATA 3. The reason why we don't see more B+M keyed NVMe drives is simply because the B key notch limits the drives to 2 PCIe lanes instead of the full 4 M.2 supports hence cutting potential throughput in half. Also getting mixed up referring to M.2 drives as simply NVMe drives in general is an easy thing to do and I can forgive people making that mistake (though a tech video should know better), I wouldn't be surprised if most people didn't even know the socket is called M.2 and NVMe is actually the protocol the drive uses.
@zacharygoterch1686 жыл бұрын

The builder later went on to tweet that he has built numerous PC’s and the toxic gamers made him nervous, which caused the mistakes. Then said we should care less about the amount of thermal paste and more about our toxic community. He went back and forth with itsagundam for awhile. It was pretty funny. Gundam and most others were completely cool, basically saying “take it down and fix it”. He stated they had wanted him to do reshoots or a rebuild (I’m not quite sure what his comment meant exactly) but he did not want to as the build is “fine”. Not sure what his problem with fixing it. Most YT’ers acknowledge it when it happens, and fix it on stream. Not a big deal. If you can do it, Linus, UFD, Tech Deals, both Steve’s, Jay, Paul, Bitwit, and pretty much everyone who’s built more than a few PC’s overlooks something at some point. It happens to people w/far more experience than himself. I still can’t believe he screwed through the aluminum heatsink in the water cooling fans. That is mind blowing. “Hmm, these screws are taking forever...they are now securely fastened into the anti-static wooden table. This will help the PC not move as we complete the build.” Good fun!

i cant say much about that video since im not subscribe to that channel, but from my pov that presenter sounds and look like a newbie and makes me think, "did he fake his resume when he applied for the job?" :/

You shouldn't subscribe to their channel. They only praise apple products. Their phone review is shit but video quality is dope tho.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but those long ass cooler screws he used ran right through the metal heat exchangers on the radiator? Probably didn’t hit the water passages, but technically damaged the radiator.

They took the video down. That video was worst than watching Linus handling expensive hardware... The cringe...
