Great video! I've been looking at holster options for a while, and you answered my remaining questions about the Alien Gear holster. I'm use to the QLS system too. Have several Safariland holsters and think they're good, but need updated. Take a look at True North Concepts belt hanger, it's pretty good too. Pulled the trigger on a Rapid Force w/(QLS) Tactical adapter tonight after watching your video. Keep up the good reviews!

Hey thanks for the input I appreciate all the feedback. I know it was a long video but I think there were a lot of things that needed to be shown. I like the idea of the mha from true north but the fact that you have a piece of metal digging into your side turns me off. I wanted to get away from hard items after my hip injury. Which is why I’m even moving away from the UBL. It’s definitely why I think the bang hanger will be the way moving forward. But I definitely appreciate the comment and I’m glad you got some value from the video.

Hi I have a two part question to ask. If I am running a g19 would it be better to get the g19 holster. Is it better as far as retention goes or would it be just longer is all. I practice with a g17 airsoft pistol and wonder if it worth getting the g17 size holster. Also as far as the locking system goes do you think it would be better to run a mid ride qls or just run the mid-ride from alien gear. Thanks.
@AngrySargeG015 ай бұрын
Hey sir sorry for the delay I did not get a notification. I’ll be honest get the full size the retention on it will be just fine for the g19. To answer your questions do you like to swap out holsters on your rig? If so run the qls if that’s what you already use. If you want to run the alien gear version and you are going to have several then sure do it that way. It’s all about preference at that point. Hopefully this helps.

I curious why you need that “T” adapter? It looks like the QLS will fit directly on to the holster? What does the adapter do? Doesn’t Safariland make a Mid or low ride fixed holster with QLS without any swivel? Great video.
@AngrySargeG019 ай бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and comment. I appreciate you saying it was a great video. It definitely looks like it could fit but it does not. That T adapter is what sets safariland apart from Blackhawk g code and others. The hole pattern belongs to Safariland which is why you need that. The adapter only helps mount the QLS or any Safariland product to the holster. Yea Safariland does make mid and low ride and you can add the qls to it.
@farh3t270 Жыл бұрын
Definitely a good in-depth review! Maybe I'm too old school & my grumpy old man syndrome is kicking in but that is only a level 2 holster. Original LE retention levels have distinct separate actions , passive friction doesn't count. From my academy days it went like this L1 was just a thumb snap, L2 added another such as a rocking or twisting motion & L3 was another active retention, think old style Safariland SS3 you had a thumb snap, trigger guard snap & the rock or twist motion to be able to draw it.
@AngrySargeG01 Жыл бұрын
See you know the old way yes they still had those when I started in LE some agencies were still issuing them. However times have changed and the way they classify levels are slightly modified or updated. Definitely not too old school. Thank you for the comment and the watch it means a lot to me. The comment definitely brought me back to the old days of the first Safariland holster which was a level 2 I was issued at the academy.

@@AngrySargeG01Of course! While doing terrain training, mud got into the button and hood mechanisms making it impossible to get the gun out of the holster. Another instance occurred when I was doing Vehicle tactics, the button failed with dust and pebbles getting into the mechanism. Also the retention warn out over time of a few months somehow. Dully note I use my Gear hard, especially my duty gear. I need to know it will work at all cost, alien gear unfortunately failed in two different environments and trainings.
@AngrySargeG01 Жыл бұрын
@@SpecterSolutions this is definitely good info to have and important to note that on a more rigorous application I can definitely see it failing. Getting your pistol out when you need it is important which leads me to want to know if maybe I do a holster off with a few companies level 3 holsters can I have issues. Mud I can see a problem small rocks yep there is room for that to mess up. Dust it should not and since it did on your end that is a major concern. Now you have peaked my interest on content.
