Colin's way of rolling down the tone on the neck pickup and blending in the piezo a bit sounds so hauntingly beautiful. I'm definitely not a hollow-body guy, but that's exactly the sound I've always been looking for in a semi-hollow. Maybe I've just been looking the wrong way.

Nice jazz tone. One reason why I do not own a PRS is they tend to sound ice-picky to me. Not so in this case.

Yes! This would be an excellent choice for a two-year-old son. He will really appreciate the neck shape; not too big, not too thin. Perfect for those rapidly growing hands! And don't get us started on the simplicity of the electronics layout... Let's just say he'll be able to figure it out rather quickly as it's quite intuitive. (tongue firmly planted in cheek)

i find myself playing guitar a lot in the dark unplugged on electric just to be quit i have always wondered if this would be some thing to be a little louder than electric but not so load as acoustic ...have always wondered..semi hallow guitars seem to have a long long history..makes me wonder.. i love prs sunbursts.. i have always been so drawn to body with the burst and prs are in a league all there own.. and such a perfectly thought out body and neck feel on these...

@@prsguitars yes. Please consider it. If you did a S2 or SE custom 24 or singlecut trem with piezo, I would absolutely buy them. I just can't afford a P22, P24 or P245. Of all my guitars, my PRS guitars are the only ones that don't have piezo. My Gibson & Music man have piezo. I would love to use my PRS guitars exclusively.

I noticed there are 11k 24 fret hollow bodies in a single cut and double cut. Could you make some in SE and S2. I have 7 PRS SE and S2 but I could never afford to buy a 4k and above. I have 2 guitars over 3k but I never gig with them as I have had guitars stolen from me and I have damaged guitars in transit plus tripped over a cord and pulled the guitar off the stand, If I had anything like happen to an 11k guitar I think I would be suicidal.

Does the PRS SE hollow body ii piezo allow you to have simultaneous piezo output on one of the outputs and magnetic pickup output on the other? Or will turning down the magnetic pickups in the mix output also turn it down in the solo magnetic pickup output?

My 2006 prs hollow II is making a loud static noise when using the piezo. I can hear the strings thru the amp. Checked the cable, new battery all good. Any idea ?

Does PRS do full custom neck jobs? I love this guitar, but I would need to have a neck on it that I could very simply order to my specs from Warmouth, but I don't think you could put an after-market neck on a PRS. Problem being price.

The glued-in neck joint is a PRS-proprietary feature, so any aftermarket neck would not fit without major (major) modifications. The PTC at PRS does do custom modifications to existing guitars. Contact PRS and see what they can do for you.

Can you play the Humbucker pickups through say a Marshall or other electric amp and the Piezo pickup simultaneously through an acoustic amp?

Docmansound Music if it’s the same as the SE it does need a battery, but the magnetic pups still work if the battery dies. But I don’t know if it’s the same as the SE...

@@kdub0529 Or maybe a FreeWay 10-way slide switch. It is a drop in replacement for a 5 way switch. I put one on my strat-shaped object and it looks the same, but adds 5 more ways to connect the pickups.

24-fret neck pickup would not sound as woody as 22-fret. I think 22-fret is the right choice for hollow body.

Looks like you really need a clean AMP for the piezo acoustic sound Therefore using a single AMP for the mix is no good.

Outside of Private Stock, the Hollowbody II Piezo is only offered as a right handed model.

The problem I see with this system is that in the "middle" position of the pickup switch, the piezo signal goes to both the electric and the piezo output. This is a design failure in my opinion. No need to have the piezo signal going to the electric guitar amp if you are already using the piezo output on an acoustic guitar amp. Otherwise, very tempted to get this guitar. Close to perfect for me. Alas, this gross design error is a bit of a show stopper. Thanks.

Don't doubt these guitars could be versatile but these companies and review channels need to learn if your gonna market your product toward a jazz musician, get real jazz musicians to play these instruments. That intro they played was dull and the tones were so unlike any jazz guitar Great's tone not to mention the lines and comping these guys are doing are so dull. Jazz guitarists are out there, just gotta go look for them. I know they didn't deliberately say this was for jazz musicians, but this guy claims to make his money through a jazz septet and they improvised on swing at the beginning which is kind of on the nose. I'm sure these guys are great musicians in there own right, but after hearing this, I wouldn't buy these guitars. It's all up to preference anyway, so I could just fuck off too lol
