'Mover' (the 93 version). They themselves asked in 07 what old verve tune they never released should they rework and record? i actually requested 'Mover' and it snowballed from there. Si Jones agreed with me. They did it. Honestly '93 is so much better. the '07/08 'thaw' version of it is 'too RA' , not enough NM. -U10

@@Ultegra10SPD To be fair there weren't many options since they'd released most of the stuff which the fans were aware of. Aside from the pre-Nick demos from 1996, but they were probably out of the question anyway since they were with Simon Tong too and he wasn't invited back for the reunion. The only tracks the fans could have requested are Mover, Staring Stranger (which is an early version of Mover), Black & Blue and South Pacific.

The original, unedited version of this single (almost 9 minutes in running time) features Nick McCabe's greatest guitar performance. One of my Desert Island songs. This was recorded inside the swimming pool at The Manor Studio in Oxfordshire which is why the guitar and drums sound so EPIC!

Absolutely amazing song. It's so beautifully perfect. There seem to be so many layers in this song, and when one gets louder the others are still audible... and it's almost impossible to explain this song as a whole. Richard Ashcroft's voice is so wonderfully lucid but simultaneously calming. There is nothing better than falling asleep under the stars listening to this song.

Beautifully produced, understated… I always thought it was longer At the time I always saw it as a bit of a hangover from shoegaze but it’s far more interesting than a lot of the generic stuff that was getting thumped about, and tbh by ‘93 grunge and a lot of generic grunge acts were all over the shop so this sat uniquely in its own place. I remember the music press article about the name change too oddly…

Fans of this track might like a track The Verve wrote in 2008 called "Blue Pacific Ocean". It's didn't make their album Forth but it's pretty much better than everything on that album. It's also the most "A Storm In Heaven" type track they'd wrote since 1993. It's a complete throw back to their early days. Get your ears around it, it's sublime: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYbQhXZ-oZl4fdE

I have two mint copies of Voyager 1 on Blue Vinyl. One of these days when I figure out how to do it I will upload the Voyager I version of Superstar from a fully Klimax'd Linn LP12. Compared to this it's absolutely unbelievable. This is like the radio version. All you will see is a record spinning. And your entire universe.

This is a song of awesome young love. Silly. Impermeable. Grinding and falling. Falling and Calling.

Loved 'em when they were VERVE before all that legal s**t, most particularly their early psychedelic stuff like on 'Storm ...'. I think they kinda lost something after they started hanging round with Oasis & - IMHO - becoming a too bit predictable, though 'Catching The Butterfly' (esp live versions where McCabe can 'give it some' a bit more) is a truly awesome statement about life in general. Just for these few, aeon-spanning musical moments, I guess, they have the right to be carried around in Sedan Chairs for the rest of their lives. Awesome. Thanks for posting.

***** Dude, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you have no "proof" that American music is better than British music...it's a matter of taste. I used the word "proof" loosely in my previous comment; there is no proof for what is better or worse.when it comes to art.

My original statement was meant to be funny as well as an expression of my opinion. Everything written on the internet isn't always factual.
