Guests including Bernhard Manning, Ant & Dec, Vic & Bob, Paul Daniels, George Best and Chris Eubank are interviewed by the wonderful Caroline Mary Aherne (24 December 1963 - 2 July 2016) who hosts the hilarious and outrageous mock chat show The Mrs Merton Show.
Broadcasted on the BBC from 1995 - 1998, various guests were roasted in a North West English style.
As well as the celebrity guests and regular band, the show featured a few appearances from the co writer of the show Craig Cash as Malcolm and had an audience of pensioners who would sit behind Mrs Merton and the guests who would be used for regular discussion segments and for Caroline to field questions from.
Caroline sadly died on the morning of 2 July 2016, of lung cancer at her home in Timperley aged 52.

Agreed. Looking back on it now, it's co cheekily and subtly clever and bitchy in the sweetest way, and I don't think I appreciated it at the time, maybe didn't think it was "cool" enough at that age, when that's an easy defence for something that goes over your head. Now I think-that's great, and actually, a real pity it's not around now because (a) it wouldn't be allowed for stupidly politically correct reasons (??!!) and (b) SO many losers around now passing for 'stars' deserve full this kind of interview. You can imagine it, for a start: "Imagine if tik tok (or tit tok), Instagram, myspace, MTV hadn't come along, you'd be nothing would you." "Where do you get that horrible 'singing' voice (Carey, Adele etc.) then, is that all you or do you work on it?" "Harry Styles/Ronaldo/Gosling etc. pretty as a girl aren't you?" etc.
