INSPIRATION:
This short film was inspired by a faze I went through of watching old black and white movies. However, two films in particular inspired me enough to make my own black and white film ("The Tragedy of McBeth" and "In Cold Blood").

Here’s a fun Easter egg for you, that nobody would have gotten lol, the cigarette packs he’s smoking, I made them all by hand, my own brand called “ogress” which is my last film before this one called “the ogress”. 🤣👍

Thanks for watching! The burning shots are done with lighting (led lights with fire effects) and then in post removing those lights and a lot of after effects work. Also the arm shot burning was done by covering the actors arm with home made sfx makeup, fake blood, bicarbonate sofa for miniature bubbling effect and then in post many overlays of fire burning added.

Absolutely loved the story my guy! Only recommendation I have when making a noir style film, is to try and use a less modern sound track. The beginning felt a little off because the dramatic music killed the suspense for me. But idk

It's well done, but am I to understand that his son is dependent on him? If so, if a force of justice has come for him, what does that mean for the son who depends on him?

Yes, so his son was hit at the start and he made a deal with god to save him- broke his promise, so death shows up. A life for a life. The son is the true victim here but death was only there to take Desmond’s life and the son should have died in the beginning anyway, so he may have died too in the fire at the end (you can hear him ringing the bell at the end still)
