Actually, there are old sonic web comics that managed to keep the legacy of super sonic alive, along with telling multiple stories based around the old sonic fleetway comics.

This story still reminds me of TKO from OK Ko Let’s be heroes. One of the main examples being how if KO undergoes a lot of stress and pain he will turn into TKO, who is emo beast that murders everyone (or at least tries). When we get to 2/3 of the show, we see that TKO can be tamed if no one cages him up. But that backfires. Then towards the end, we see that the only way to keep TKO tame from injuring others is by equaling him out (putting him back) in KO. The main difference is that there wasn’t a new companion helping to really tame him Just a thought

You forgot one thing. Fleet way sonic can also be triggered (when they were one in the same) when Sonic gets exposed to a lot of a chaos energy. Also, the reason this super sonic is evil is because chaos emeralds in that fleetway series is full of pure, chaos, just like in its name. So you could say there’s no positive in them (from what we know) while the chaos emeralds in the main games and story have both positive and negative energy.
