There are albums where you can slide your coins into and also felt lined cases and things like that but I haven't seen any Whitman type folders

I've got other coins that aren't sovereigns but certainly not an expert in the world gold. The South American gold, Mexican gold, Pre 33 USA gold and Latin Monetary Union (LMU) coins all have followings of their own along with other countries. Certain coins are highly collectible due to their condition and others due to being low mintage and rare. Plenty of options for collecting 👍🏼

I had heard that some die numbers could be very rare.. I think I heard somebody is trying to catalogue the mintages of these... I think it would be a good idea .. personally .. imagine having all known die numbers for even one year type...

There's a list of known die numbers in Marsh but also if you search Baldwin's auctions and look at their past catalogues for the 'Bentley Collection' a collector had had a good go at collecting all the die numbers

The only one i have is a 1859 (not the ansell one tho unfortinetly) i do like them tho, once ive got all the ones i need i will be on them collecting shields to start date runs as they are my favourite sovereighn, i dont mind paying more for them

I happen to have the entire shield date run except for the 1872 - and you have that date in duplicates. Life is so unfair! Just kidding! 🙂 Saurus, I congratulate you with this fine collection. In the states, it is common to put coins in inexpensive white flip folds where you can write on the edges any detail of the coin. I like this method due to the fact i may not view the coins for a while. This is fine for coins common coins which are not professionally graded/carded. Not a big fan of carded coins, since you'll always pay more and they can be faked and you'll never know.

@LMAOOOOOO put it in the paper holder once, staple the corners, label 🏷 as necessary, and no fingerprints on the coins. Then, place in a storage box or 20 coin holder for notebook. Pretty standard coin collection displaying techniques in USA 🇺🇸 for the past 40+ years.

I love seeing these shields all spread out, chuffed at knowing that I could fill a few of the gaps and now knowing that there is availability out there. These shields are where my main gaps reside, I do have another large gap from 1983 to 1993.

I keep meaning to look out for some of the rare dates as the general market seems a bit depressed recently it could be a bit less competitive (although at the high end I don't think there is any shortage of buyers)

Well done you will never lose money ,,,i sold my 1841 july 2023,£7000 bought for £450 jan 2013 ,i always go coin shows and cheq sheild back prices very very few less than £500 each 😊 avoid auctions to sell 30% premium here in Scotland,😢
