@@TheSacredStew Thor, Tyr and Freyer. Thor because he's protected me in some very 'ugly' situations in my life. Tyr because of who I am. Freyer because I'm kind of a 'weather nut' and he has a good handle on that. I'm pretty sure that as I grow, I will find more Asir and Vanir that have been there for me. Here is an old Finnish mead recipe I like. Should give that a try and let me know what ya think. 5 liters of water 250 grams of sugar 250 grams of brown sugar 200 grams of cane sugar 7 grams of dextrose (to jumpstart the fermentation so it takes a little less time) 1½ lemons' juice 1 lime's juice A pinch of yeast Boil 2.5 liters of water, pour it over the sugars and juice, stir until all the sugar has dissolved, then add 2.5 liters of cold water. Wait until it cools down to 37 degrees Celsius and add a pinch of yeast the size of two peas (dissolve the yeast in a bit of water first). Ferment for a day, bottle (add about a teaspoon or a couple of sugar per bottle + a few raisins), cap loosely and refrigerate when raisins refuse to fall to the bottom when the bottle is tapped gently.

Your mention of cider piqued my interest. The first week I discovered and wanted to be in Heathenry, I wanted to make an offering. I really love apple cider, and it was the only thing in my fridge that night. I microwaved a cup of it, took it outside (I live in the country so I am surrounded by forest) I took it to this rock that I thought looked fit for an offering. I asked Odin to guide my path in following him, and I poured the cider on the rock. I'm a very new to Heathenry, so I probably did something wrong with the offering. I hope this has helped someone's faith :)

I had asked that while in my sleep I really wanted to learn false chord screams for death metal and in my dream I was shown exactly how to do it I woke up the very next day and started practicing and I was able to hit it. I looked up on top of my work building sitting in my car and saw two Ravens looking down upon me this was probably the best moment of my life. I took a picture of them and I'm able to scream death metal.

They strive to be courageous in pursuit of Valhala, where eternity is an ongoing reflection of the upheld values and virtues that were practiced while alive on earth. With all due respect, you're barking up the wrong trees in here. But since you peeked in, may Odin open your eyes so you may see what the Abrahamic faiths have done to this world for 2000 years. Jesus said, he who lives by the sword will die by the sword, and this community agrees with that statement and is happy to accept such fate if death comes as a result of defending family and nation against any threat. Nothing wrong with hipsters wanting to be Norse, it's pretty inclusive. Don't impress your outlook on the ideology though. You either submit to the basic concepts and definitions there in, or you just adopt some cool principles you like and create your own interpretation, aka faith. Nothing wrong with that, but you don't get into Valhalla by clicking into a 9-5 at your tech job/ KZbin channel and holding an axe after a coronary. The battle slain earned their place at the table as WARRIORS not merchants or tradesman. There's a difference and dozens more halls for them to go to so they don't have to fight the battle eternal.

I personally think people need to quit referring to the northern peoples religions as “Viking”. Vikings were pirates and exporters and and maybe at best an occupation but that doesn’t always mean they were deeply religious or even ancestraly northern people as many other ethnic groups took part in joining the Heathens. Dna records are also showing that northern people “mingled” with whatever people were on the routes they explored occasionally bringing home people from other lands to join them (some by choice others by force of course). I cringe whenever I hear someone say they have Viking ancestry. Can you really prove that? Of course not! Same thing as those claiming to have gladiator ancestry😂. Your ancestry is from people in that region… Great vid though on religious practices.

@@crcheslock I have a question man: I keep finding comments saying that there seems to be two types of norse believers: white- washed norse pagans (thats what iv decided to call them) and reall norse pagans. I mean, people white wash a lot of stuff, but people here are saying that some 'norse pagans' are only doing it to be unique, which sadly makes sense. One comment I think on here was from a guy apparently from I think direct viking decent and he was super pissed at the guy in the video for 'white washing' (I have no other terms Im sorry if that sounds stupid) the religion. And he also said that If you arent born into it, you have no right to call yoirself a norse pagan. Is that true? And if there are things that differ or depend can you call them out? Thank you.
@crcheslock2 ай бұрын
The fact that people are saying you have to be born into Norse Paganism is flat out wrong. I don't follow a religion because I was born into it or because of my heritage. I am Scandinavian but that doesn't matter. If you believe, ACTUALLY believe in the old Norse Gods and everything else then ALL humankind are welcome to worship their "creators" There is no room for anyone saying you have to be born into a religion to follow. I understand if they claim that being a viking is what's popular so people just jump into it un-authentically or you being a person born into it might see it as your heritage but if you believe in the old gods that much then why can't someone who was created by your gods but lives in Italy not be Norse pagan?
