Truly a great film.Kirk Douglas was astounding.Viking's would truly be proud to have him play them in spirit.Just imagine how dangerous it was filming that sciene, only a actor of Kirk Douglas kalibir could do such a feat.

The most memorable line from this: "If I can't have your love, I'll take your hate". Up to a point, this was pretty much the way my father (a dead ringer for a younger Kirk Douglas) operated, alongside my mother for many a year.

Both were very athletic. Kirk Douglas was always an awesome physical specimen to me. Too bad he never got around to doing "The Man Who Laughs." Kirk wanted to do that Victor Hugo classic.

I think Kirk Douglas produced this film. He was a great artist and he would've played Gwynplaine in "The Man who Laughs." Pity that remake never came about.
