This is on my bucket list. I've been to many countries, but not South Korea. I'm thinking of traveling to South Korea and about researching how to visit the Joint Security Area. I've wondered if one could try to exit from the wrong door (North Korean side) in that conference room. You can try, but you probably won't be successful. You'll first need to get by the Korean military officer standing in front of the door, who's an expert in Taekwondo. You're not likely to get by him. ;)

Dang I went there four years ago while I lived in Okinowa Japan from December 12-20 and it was really cool. I got to see snow for the first time in three years and at the gift shop I got a metal keychain of a mossberg pistol grip shotgun I wish they had the uniforms and shoulder pads I remember seeing the pads and wanting one. One last thing, durning our tour when we went to that same area and as I stood in the North Korean section of the meeting room I remember seeing the communist (officers?) looking through the glass windows on their side and I was not afraid but as we exited I saw two South Korean border guards in their aviators and winter uniforms walk by speaking in Korean but they were laughing and having a good time. I only saw them for a second but I thought "man if you can have a good time only feet away from communist North Korea you must be super cool".

0:12, when the news reporter said; “this is the demilitarized zone, it’s the closest we can get to North Korea”, she was incorrect.
