Scrapple is a Philadelphia breakfast item served as a side with eggs. It is simple finely ground pork combined with cornmeal and spices formed into a baked loaf. It is sold in a block. You prepare it by cutting slices and pan frying until crisp on both sides.

Easy fix for barking dog! Citronella Spray no-bark Collar, automatically sprays harmless citronella mist upwards in front of dog when the dog barks. Sensitivity can be set by human, for example you could set it to allow 2 barks, then spray- for someone who wants their dog to alert for people approaching the house. The citronella refill is a pressurized can so easy to refill the collar. The collar is rechargeable, so no need to buy expensive batteries.

Agree on the dog. I have been a German Shepherd breeder for 30 years. I have multiple dogs and I have the kennel outside my bedroom window so I am the FIRST to hear and barking. I don't allow it. One or two barks are okay but that constant barking makes me crawl up the wall. I don't do dog parks. Massages hurt if done right but you will DEFINITELY benefit from it.

What are we are supposed to do when we walk our dogs? I am a responsible pet owner but dogs will pee along the way when you walk them. I pick up all poop. Do people expect all grass blades to be perfectly clean after you pick it up? That is not reasonable. I have never heard of such pickiness That really stresses me out and makes me wonder if I could live there. What do people do? As for barking, I do agree with you there. People should not allow barking. The homes are close but I suspect you may hear TVs, loud talking and smell cigarettes with such close proximity.
@RustyNelson
@RustyNelson 2 жыл бұрын
I guess it's a different belief system. I don't feel that you automatically gain the right to somebody's private property to have your dog pee and crap on their lawn because you don't feel like walking to the end of the block (open property), have them pee in your yard before, go to the dog park that we all pay taxes to upkeep FOR YOUR DOG, etc. I feel you have the responsibility to respect your neighbor's private property...you do not. I understand you don't want to inconvenience yourself or the dog...so do you feel you gain the right to somebody else's yard when you buy a dog or is that in the deed? You feel that you have that right when you buy a dog I guess and the person loses their right to have private property. Not sure where that right comes from...can you tell me? It may be silly to you but to the person that works on their lawn...their private property...something that is important to them even though you feel it's silly...it is not too silly to them. On the other hand, you feel you now have the right to use their property when you buy your dog. Like I said... a different belief system. To tell you the truth it's not a bother to me as I do not have that problem but I know people that have a lot/property that has become the dog relief point for the whole neighborhood because it is convenient. I personally feel they should not have to deal with that...you do. Different brief system.

Rusty, I have a question. We have USAA for our homeowners, auto, umbrella liability and personal articles floater. I'm asking you this because I thought you said you have USAA. Back in 2011, we bought a second home in Brevard county Florida, and at that time, USAA was not writing policies in Florida unless you were there on military orders and it was a primary residence. We had to purchase insurance through a state insurance pool. We sold that home several years ago, so I don't know if that situation has changed. We understood that it could change in the future. Were you able to insure with USAA?

Just a note regarding your golf cart comments. The automobile driver who stopped for the golf cart may be confused by laws that were in place where they originally lived. Some states consider golf carts crossing in a pedestrian crossing as pedestrians and automobiles must stop. I can see where this would be confusing once you've moved to the Villages.

@@lorijones564 On Amazon, search for dog barking control devices, and you will find an assortment. Look for the range, maybe 50 feet, and high review ratings. These devices are activated by barking dogs and send out an unpleasant sound that only dogs can hear. The devices “condition” dogs to stop barking because the unpleasant sound stops as soon as the dog stops barking. Yes, they are humane, and many respectful owners use them to train their own dogs.

Also, a MIRACLE CURE to dogs barking is a product called Pet Corrector by Company of Animals available on Amazon. It makes a LOUD hissing sound that scares dogs because it sounds like a snake. DO NOT SPRAY at the dogs and you can even be inside the house and the dogs are barking outside - just blast once or twice and the dogs stop barking and come inside immediately. I have 2 dogs that were easily triggered to bark. We had tried everything- bark collars, sonic waves, dog trainers. But this cured barking with just a blast or two. And basically now, the dogs don’t bark to their usual triggers- slamming lanai doors, cars pulling in/out from driveway, talking outside our gate. When I feed the dogs they usually bark in excitement- now I just but they red can of Pet Corrector on the floor next to their food bowls and NOT A PEEP or bark from them. Our new neighbors dog was barking out in their backyard and I was afraid our dogs would start barking- before they could bark, I hit a blast while I was still in bed and not only did my dogs never bark and came inside immediately but the neighbors stopped immediately and hasn’t barked since.

I hear you on the dog barking. It's inconsiderate to leave a dog outside barking. As far as dogs going potty on a walk a person can only be respectful of your yard if there are sidewalks with a grass area between the sidewalk and road. Not all developments have that. If they do in the Villages people should be respectful and have their dogs go there. People should always pick up poop, but it's not possible to clean up pee if that grass area doesn't exist. I walk my dogs daily here in TN and almost everyone here has dogs and is considerate about it. I'd never complain if a dog went pee on my yard though, it seems petty to me.
@RustyNelson
@RustyNelson 2 жыл бұрын
Not a problem once and a while but as I said...the person that buys a nice corner lot with some nice grass because they like it and enjoy keeping it up as many people do here has a right to not be happy when all the people in that village decide they are going to walk their dog to that corner. They did not buy the dog and should not have to fend off the people that do. Or from what you are saying...because you want a dog they should supply the lawn for your dog? I don't see the logic....sorry. Let me assure you also...MOST people do not have dogs in TV. That simply can not be. That would make at least 50,000 dogs and that is only if each has one. My neighbor has THREE!!!!!!

Hey Rusty, I wrote another response and deleted it. You seem like a good guy and I bet had quite a few dog lovers irritated with you. I had plenty to say back, but sometimes it's best to just agree to disagree. I wanted to say though that I certainly wasn't saying everyone in TV has dogs or even in TN. Just that my neighborhood here has so so many, I love that about my neighborhood. I do agree about the barking being inconsiderate. I hope that gets better for you!

@RustyNelson

Well here goes...the owner can stop in their own yard first. Funny though they never seem to do that. In the Villages there are PLENTY of open areas...PLENTY. I've seen people walk their dogs down my "Street" and then onto the grass when they get to the open public areas. That is on my street though. You can go to the dog parks...those places we all pay for for you to do just that. Plenty of rec centers around here with large large lawns. Nature walk areas. I can go on... I don't get it...are you saying if you have a dog...YOU decide to have a dog... that gives you the right to let it go on others lawns. At my place I do not have a problem with dog poop...but I feel sorry for the poor guy that paid extra to have a large corner lot and puts all the extra care into that lawn and then people just let their dogs go on it. I guess I just don't see the logic in the idea that if somebody buys an animal to keep them company that they should make others deal with their decision. Can you explain that to me? Although on the extreme end, that's like saying that I want a dirt bike so I'll ride it on somebody's lawn to get to the dirk bike park. Then they say, you should not ride it on my lawn. My answer would then be if I get what you are trying to say..."Well where do you want me to ride it...can't ride in the street." I'm not saying I have a problem...the people that live in a high dog traffic area pay the price of others that want a dog because the dog owner feels that it their right some how to use somebody else lawn as their dog park.

Carry a bottle of water and if doggie pees in someone’s yard, pour a bunch of water over the urine. They also make a supplement that changes pee so it doesn’t burn the grass. Do not let your dog walk in someone’s grass-use a maximum 6-foot leash and walk in the street so doggie can’t reach their grass. If dog is desperate to pee, using the leash, only allow the dog to pee right at the edge of their grass, then rinse area with water. Don’t use a “flexi” leash, they are too hard to control where the dog is going to pee. -trainer of therapy dogs, co-founder of sporting dog rescue, fostered many homeless dogs.

I know other KZbinrs who insist that because they have dogs, they should be able to have those dogs pee/poop on your property....even if they "clean it up", it is still there. That is the society we live in these days. You'll need to resort to other measures to stop that. Also, you just have to call someone each time the dog barks. No need to confront people who don't care. They know the dog barks while they are gone....they really just don't care. Though they say to "come talk to them", it is not necessarily a safe thing to do these days. OK, sorry, my additional rant is over.

We had the dryer vent people come into our home and my dogs started to bark ONCE and I did one blast (not at them and not even close to them) from the Pet Corrector and they stopped immediately and didn’t bark for the remainder of the visit. This would totally stop our neighbors dog from barking even “blasting it” from inside your home. Also great at dog parks to stop aggressive behavior too. Or jumping up - any behavior you want to correct. Just make sure NOT to blast at the dog or too near the dog- they just need to hear the hissing sound- and dogs hearing us 75% more acute than ours - so they will hear if from a long way away.

When does the cost of a home have anything to do with bad neighbors with dogs
@RustyNelson
@RustyNelson 2 жыл бұрын
Because..... The people had to sell the home because they got tired of the constant dog barking. Since this was an established fact as an ongoing nuisance it legally has to be disclosed in the selling documents. Because of that, they had a hard time selling the home. That is economics 101. Not too many people want to move next to a barking dog. That reduces the price of the home.

I'm still waiting for the logic that says....when "I" buy a dog...you, my neighbor gives up the right to private property". "I" (the dog owner) gain the right to intrude on your property when I want. If that is true then when I buy a golf cart I gain the right to park it on your drive because I don't want it to leak on my drive. We are a golf cart friendly community after all. Reality says a little pee once and a while is ok but if you own that property on the corner with the fire hydrant and spend time and money keeping it up... "YOU" have given up your private property rights to everybody in the neighborhood that owns a dog. Somebody please help me with the logic.... I just believe the person that owns property has the right to not have the neighborhood dogs pee/poop on their lawn. Some people do.

As a former dog owner, it’s my understanding that a portion of your yard is actually public property. Not sure what it is in the villages. When I had my dogs, I had them do their business in the area between the street and the sidewalk. I always cleaned up after them and kept them out of going deep into someone’s yard. I know owners still maintain the public portion but technically there is nothing they can do legally. Still won’t make people stop complaining or yelling, it is what it is. Maybe grass is easier to kill in Florida than Illinois by dog pee.
