Thanks for the in depth community news Skip! I live on a golf course house (next to a tee, love it), in a community next door to the Villages and its like $45 or less to play 18 holes with a nice club house with good prices and food. I'm happy that people come to visit and support the course! But watch your speed, 25 mph. Marion County Sheriff gonna get you, lol.

In addition to closing with, “Don’t leave your keys in your golf cart”, … you should occasionally remind people to, “Fix your bite marks on the golf course!” Good thing my Dad taught me well, and I fix 2 or 3 in addition to fixing mine … pride of ownership (treat the golf courses like your own) ☝🏻 Keep up the good work 👊🏻

Hello love the news every week i thought you might have the news on a golf cart accident with a cart rolled over on the corner of morse blvd and colony rec center rd on that golf cart path . The accident was at 9:30 on Saturday 3-2 Fire trucks ,emt and police . Thanks for all your hard work .

Hearing a lot about the golf courses but I would be more concerned about the unlicensed drivers.

Sumter legal system is almost laughable... illegals driving, drunk drivers, drivers on illegal drugs, elderly driving on prescription drugs, sons and daughters living with parents that simply don't give a damn, TV ain't what it once was !!

Traffic on Meggison between 470 and Sawgrass is ridiculous, people speed, try to pass on a double yellow line, and refuse to stop for pedestrians trying to cross the street even if they are in a crosswalk .My drivers ed book said you stop regardless of where the person is in the crosswalk - here they figure if they can get by you they will (both cars & golf carts).

Hey Skip I feel you are correct that this is not the snow birds fault. If there was no such thing as snow birds and these people just lived full time in the Villages plus everyone else who lives there the golf courses would be in the state they are now. I think the problem is that the villages continues to grow but there is not enough golf courses for the growth the Villages. Now this is only my opinion, I think The Villages may need some more golf courses.

Skip I heard there is a fungus spreading on the golf courses. Over use of courses?

That fungus is always a problem, there is a spray for that but the courses need shut down because it gets spread on shoes and carts..

I will always be as honest as I can but the majority don't like it, my proof is I was the first to start a KZbin channel here, I've been doing and learning as I go, 10 years of hard work later shy of 15k subscribers, look at the new channels 2 to 3 years old.. 55 k and 20k subs. I am so disappointed I can't even tell you.

The numbers are not what you want to see but I can guarantee you that although my numbers are not what they should be your viewers are very loyal and love you and Sue and these new Villagers KZbin channels are a dime a dozen and the only ones that have loyal viewers are you and J and L channel. Unlicensed drivers are everywhere since I started listening to Skip I pay attention at home to license plates and see how many are scratched off or don’t have new tags on them There are quite a few.. where I live I also watch body cam same there always expired licenses . My big concern would be the people harboring mental health issues that aren’t being addressed and, that’s everywhere as well The golf courses are a shame one can tell the current owners of the villages don t care about the people it’s about the bottom dollar. I heard now it’s even hard for people to get tee time who have lived in the villages for a while..

Thank you for telling the truth Skip not only the golf course's we play beach tennis they won't even maintain the sand we're getting big holes they don't care couple weeks ago walking hogeye trail they edged the path the most crooked thing you've ever seen as far as 16" into the grass I have pictures I can send just cutting corners everywhere it's a damn shame

Courses have a disease that they are trying to control. Don’t know how it got there, but villages are bringing experts in to find best way to correct.

As much as they don't want to. The coarses will have to be closed to combat the problem. I believe it's a fungus that gets spread on the shoes of golfers..

If you are doing 20-22 mph and a golf cart passes you like you are sitting still then yes, you have the right to say that they are speeding. You want to drive that fast then get a license on it and drive it on the road.

Due to the genius planning of the villages they have created an environment where the residents are divided and bicker among themselves. Building more homes and not enough golf courses and other perks, it is obvious that they count on a large portion of homes to be uninhabited in the Summer. So, you now have 3 classes of folks, residents who live there all year, “Snowbirds” who own homes and chose to leave in the Summer and the dreaded folks who rent their homes. While all of you are bickering and jockeying for position, the owners build more homes without benefits of amenities and then raise your fees, neglect maintenance and you blame each other for “ over use.” There are professional studies on this, why not accept each others positions and unite? They keep all you divided and they make more money! “Let them eat each other, then they won’t chew on us.”
