Think i saw them 4 times in 2002. maybe just once more in 2003. Craig always had time for the fans. i gave him a muse cd of bsides once and he always chated whenever i saw him before a gig. Shame they imploded like they did.

I’m a huge fan of the Vines, in fact I remember watching the original “Get Free” music video at midnight on MTV. The boys quickly shot to stardom and had a prime slot at the VMA’s that year doing a “BATTLE OF THE BANDS” against The Hives (suddenly any band whose name began with “The” was considered a hot property) . The unfortunate part was how they never announced a winner …In reality the Vines probably shocked everyone by destroying their guitars and drum kit. I still like the Hives but they got their asses handed to them by Craig and crew.
