Oh man I'd forgotten about the speed camera video, definitely tried that back in the day, of course to no avail. Got my wheelscene tee yesterday and I'm amazed that it arrived in under 24hrs from ordering all the way from Scotland to Wales. Great quality product once again 🙌

Do what you will with this information, but I’m from the United States and I actually got arrested for rollerblading down the street in Gatlinburg, TN. The cops even tried to embarrass me by having me sit curbside for 15 mins while handcuffed. Anyways, I got out and was given a court date and a summons. I never paid the summons and I never showed up to the court hearing since I was only there on vacation from NYC. So now I have an outstanding warrant for my arrest and I’m facing significant jail time in that county. I guess it’s a good thing that I’ll never go back to Gatlinburg, isn’t it? This all happened in 2019 by the way.

You turn into a bit of a homer when rollerbladers are involved in incidents you're reporting about. The criticism about other people possibly trying to repeat their stunt was absolutely valid. He replies by saying that other people did it before (a statement which he offers no proof for) which doesn't really excuse his actions. Also if he really knew that other other people have done this before him he's actually acknowledging the reporter's argument. -> "Other people did it before so we are going to one up them by filming and uploading it." When he's asked about using safety gear he says that their crew was there to check if there was a car coming which is great but what if a cat or a dog runs on the road while he's blasting down the hill? Also it's dark and visibility is not optimal. I realise that they are professional athletes but hill bombing is risky even if you're using safety gear. He doesn't even acknowledge this. To me the fact that they lied about it only makes it worse. But everybody else is lying too so it must be OK for them to do it because we are rollerbladers and we need to stick together, right? I did have a laugh when he said that he might jump the pier but on the other hand Danny Wall jumped over the great wall of China in 2005 so I see how this might be believable in 2011.

Plenty of people don’t wear safety gear when they hill bomb or aggressive skate - that’s their choice. Also, they openly admit they lied and it was all a prank. I say fair play to them
