They do this because they need to see if the singer is actually competent, the singer could start good but then suck. The may want to turn quickly because the singer is good, but they don't because most of the time they don't want to risk it.

Funny i hate judges that turn fast ... It gives you absolute no benefit by turning fast, it gives you a lot of benefits by waiting. I have seen too many turn after just a few lines or in cases just a few words, because the voice sounded special. Without making sure they can actualy sing. And they mainly never get near final. So that pretty much proves that waiting would have benefits. You could have used that slot on your team viser.

Aljon Borabo when people say they like a cover better they mean they think the cover-artist has a better voice or a voice that’s more suited for the style and lyrics, they aren’t saying the original shouldn’t have existed, I wouldn’t be here without my parents but i am a better person🤷🏼
