They do this because they need to see if the singer is actually competent, the singer could start good but then suck. The may want to turn quickly because the singer is good, but they don't because most of the time they don't want to risk it.

Funny i hate judges that turn fast ... It gives you absolute no benefit by turning fast, it gives you a lot of benefits by waiting. I have seen too many turn after just a few lines or in cases just a few words, because the voice sounded special. Without making sure they can actualy sing. And they mainly never get near final. So that pretty much proves that waiting would have benefits. You could have used that slot on your team viser.

Melanie Martinez the only voice contesting to actual have a good career after 10+ years of voice in dozens of nations. Everyone else, maybe make a normal living in music but not successful, There is a reason you see a lot of voice people go on Got talent, x-factor & Idol shows.

@@halveii9898 no because other contestants have gotten big too. Jordan smith, josh Kaufman, Sawyer Frederick's, each got big but probably fell off over time. Just like i havent heard much new from melanie lately. I don't keep up with the international contestants so i cant speak for how any of them are now
