I’m so happy they still believe in the classic XC90. It’s such a good vehicle. I think they decided to not give this car a bigger battery as it could have made the EX90 less popular, because some people maybe wouldn’t buy an EV if there’s a 100+ km EV range PHEV.

I am undecided on the grill... The previous vertical ones seems quite adequate. And even though this is a face lift, quite disappointing there is no soft close option for the doors.

I love this new facelift. I'm glad they kept the original classic styling hues inside and out of the vehicle. Infotainment center is still not big enough but it will do. My biggest complaint is that the overall length is not big enough. Volvo could go the extra mile and make the length of the SUV 5 more inches for best seating in the 3rd row. Also make the front grill bigger. I know not everything needs to be bigger and better. It would make a granduer appearance. Other than that you would have the perfect SUV.

It's good to see they just did small upgrades to the previous model, the design and this new interior are very ok, the only thing they should have done is put exhaust tips.

Finally they did a proper facelift for this car ! the front part is stunning but not sure about the back part !

Great review. The interior is stunning. Really like your suit Thomas, very smart and a nice match to the Volvo!

This is what happens when you don't get any preorders for your overly expensive undercooked electric SUV and you end up trying to facelift a 10 year old car in 12 months. What a mess. Basically the same car that released back in 2015. Toyota 4Runner of Europe. Even the powertrains didn't change. Hybrid battery is way behind competition. Also look at that funny interior. They tried adding a bigger screen without changing the layout, it looks like someone DIY installed a bigger screen on an old XC90 (which is what they did).

I'm no expert, but this car looks beautiful and elegant both inside and out. I like it.

What a strange post. You realize the EX90 preorders where sold out already in april? And the XC90 drivetrain has been updated multiple times and works brilliantly.

You just can't buy it haha

In the exterior it was a step down in the front. Would really prefer the pre-facelift version... Also don't like the screen in the center console. I loved the previouse model, were it was integrated in the dashboard, but they need to save money!! It is much more inexpensive just to atach a screen rather that integrating it...
@benjaminsmith22872 ай бұрын
It is not integrated because it is larger.
@ClonewarswarsClone2 ай бұрын
@@benjaminsmith2287no shite, Sherlock, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t integrate it.
@benjaminsmith22872 ай бұрын
@@ClonewarswarsClone You're not getting it. The whole dash area would get too large then. A free floating screen is fine. People need to get used to it.

Great review as always Thomas, I am glad Volvo still has come faith in ICE. However, something that really interests me is your suit, the fabric and color looks really nice. What brand is it if I may ask?

I have the old XC90 T8 Polestar and I love it. But this one could be my next car.

Say what now? The XC90 is still alive! As the former owner of 2 2nd gen XC90s, both T6s, im happy its still around and this new facelift hasnt ruined it at all! Nice one Volvo! However, im glad that the electric range is not huge as its enough for most as is with the T8s and was never meant to be a full EV so i think it's fine, if anything the battery should be smaller to shed the car of some weight and the 4 cylinder strengthened and made a bit more powerful. A mechanical AWD system would be nice for the T8. Nice one Volvo.

So you basically happy you old car is not outdated and Volvo is stuck in the past.

very nice and detailed review.

All the previous updates had some sort of a core improvements in the drivetrain, e.g. bigger EV battery or EV motor, combustion engine optimisation except this one. It shows how the X90 R&D team have completely been re -assigned to the EX90 because it doesn't cut it anymore with rivals offering technologies such as 4-wheel steering, DC charging & off course bigger EV battery/range. I own a 2017 T8 which I would liked to upgrade but I think its time to move on somewhere else
