Booster Course Wave 4 for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is here, and we’re checking out All Changes and differences made for the returning courses. The third race of the Boomerang Cup is GCN Waluigi Stadium. Built like a motocross arena, this track features bumps and ramps, spinning Fire Chains and Fire Bars, Mecha Piranha Plants, and half-pipes-with some leading to new platforms-all surrounded by lots and lots of dirt and mud. Did you catch the fact that the excavators around the stadium reference the Gold Mantis Kart from Mario Kart DS? Because that is one of Waluigi's karts from that game and like them, is based on an excavator.

That possibly very much is there, although the designs differ a good amount. I may have mentioned it if they were closer in design, but I imagine the excavators are here because of the track design primarily. It could be a neat nod, though!

I was very underwhelmed and disappointed with this track at first, as I was super excited to FINALLY get a GCN track back, but luckily it really grew on me the more I played it. Although, I do still think the music sounds a bit too high pitched, and wish they kept the item boxes and dash panels in the same places, the track is pretty good!

It's possible for some shorts that cover some little details that didn't make the cut for these, too, like the kart posters in Bangkok Rush and the possible reference to the Gold Mantis kart from Mario Kart DS in this video.

I give this course a 9.9/10 would be 10/10 if it had what I changed, the Wii will always the best Version of this track. Changes I would make: 3:48 Should be an Underwater Section. 4:02 Should bring back the Dash Panels 4:37 Keep the Sky at a Sunset 5:03 Add the two other Waluigi Images. Bring back the 5:53 Music: Amazing Jazz: 9:50 Other Jazz: 10:58

Minor dlc nitpick: I wish the half pipes looked like half pipes on the Wii with the arrow animated texture instead of the antigrav animated texture they have now. It has been confirmed functionally they are half pipes and don't use the antigravity system built into the game. Of course the wheels could still change

this track does EVERYTHING right EXCEPT for the music. “It doesn’t go hard enough” - Sammy D from Kart Life Also the wrap trick does still work, it’s just insanely hard.

@GameXplain Technically, the time of day is more of a Twilight Dusk (or Twilight Dawn, however you want to interpret) that full-on nighttime. If one were to look above the stadium carefully, especially during the Glider secion near the Start/Finish Line, you could still see a small & slight smidget of sunlight-esque colors (mainly orangish-pinkish) within the horizon at or over the top of the stadium.

True. It's twilight dusk, since there's still some of the orange glow at the horizon...although it's obscured, so we can't really confirm that it's a natural glow.

I think it's interesting how for the most part there's no definitive version of these tracks. They all have their own flare/charm, gameplay differences, and differences in characterization of the track itself with style/characters/sounds/music. This one I think holds up to the other two. Where DK summit while outstanding gameplay wise misses a couple of tiny charm things from Wii, but still impresses and is easily one of my favorite tracks now on 8

It is a crime of diabolical scale that the Vibin' Signs weren't brought back for Mario Kart 8. They were so full of life and charm, and the track feels artificial and empty without them.

​@@DarkPrince777 it not just the signs, but the fire bars and jumbo tron too. The only changes I liked in the video was the starting line banner, the construction vehicles and caution lines to match the vehicles. Lots of the dirt jumps are smaller and have less variety. Not every bump has to be a trick area. I'm always fine with added alternate paths though, but it's a reminder of the alternate paths they removed from courses like yoshi circuit that were embedded into the track rather than being an extra floating platform as shown here. More could have been done to those paths to make them feel more natural to the course such as adding a spinning flame wheel to the upper section instead of a simple gravity grid pathway to avoid the dirt section before the finish line. The slowing dirt is already missing on the sides of the track. They didn't need to make it any easier by avoiding that last turn section which already acts as a mushroom shortcut, and the higher pitched music only makes it feel more kiddy and stripped of hazards.

It's a small difference but the boost pads being just the one orange color makes me sad, there's something nostalgic about the ones in Double Dash (probably cause its the only MK game I played apart from 8D)

Its so nice there is two Waluigi roads now in Mario kart 8 deluxe's dlc:s and defenietely Pinball is my favourite but waluigi stadium is awesome too, i've never played Mario kart double dash and that was my first ever waluigi stadium, its not better what Wario stadium is but its still good. 🔥🔥

The most underrated track they should add to the DLC from the franchise is DS Bowser's Castle. Other ones I hope for are DS Airship, Mariokart Wii Rainbow Road, Toads Factory, Delphino Square, Dry Dry Ruins, Koupa Cape, Ghost Valley 2 and Daisy Circuit (simply for the music and sunset)

listening to the music I am more convinced that the developers of MK8 (Deluxe) did not capture the essence of the Mario universe, it shows in the color palette and in the music and its bad arrangements

I believe it's more that Mario Kart 8 has its own approach. Each soundtrack of the Mario Kart series had a specific direction, and not just because of the samples used (although they are part of it). Double Dash!!, for instance, had ska and other styles of the GameCube era (especially reflecting Super Mario Sunshine), whistles, and various other playful elements. I still feel the ska in this, but it's a combination of 8's world and Double Dash's.

One of my disappointment in mk8 is the main music which is rock 'n' roll. All of the main music of the series of game are good except for this one. My favorite is the N64 one, but this is only my opinion.
