I thoght the buried platform was a nice little example of how one generation can be buried under another. Thank you Gareth & Phil. 🙏❤

I was down at Marlpool station this morning, 04/01/2025, with my dog. The water that you could see from the top of the embankment was covering the footpath proper, which in turn was part of the trackbed from Heanor back to Ilkeston. A lot of the water is what' been drained from the fields on your right as you're walking towards Marlpool station. There are about 4 or 5 trees down after the storms recently making access difficult but not impossible now. There is a small group of volunteers working on clearing years of leaves and soil from parts of the platform surfaces, revealing the out lines of the station buildings. I'm a first time visitor to your channel and enjoyed this video. I have now subscribed.

Great stuff ! I lived in Heanor for a short while and used to walk my Border Collie along that path down to the site if the former American Adventure park. Happy memories.

Thanks Gareth & Phil for another great stomp. Love hearing about all the history of these lines. Shouldn’t have laughed when you almost stacked it, but 🫢. X
