If he was in the know the both of them could have gotten Hershel out but she trusted the Croat to keep his word… how thick does your skull have to be?

Not only would it ruin Negan, it would ruin Maggie and any love she had for Glenn. But sure. Negan became the most liked character on the show. Do it and see what happens. Funny how no one has apologized for the outpost in 6 years but Negan is forced to beg and apologize for two people that were killing others in their sleep (and he had no reason to believe Maggie was pregnant given how thin she was. Now, Rick not being around to see all of that is not an excuse; they literally need to kiss Negan's ass, because he's a good man and he proved it. Also, who are you gonna show us when he's not around? Rick and Michonne? Their CRM adventures were badly written and boring. It felt like someone decided that a fairy tale needs a proper ending, so they went ahead and wrote it.

@@GeekGal84 FINALLY, someone gets it. Negan did a lot of bad stuff, but he is literally just Rick. Both men aren't afraid to get their hands dirty to keep their people safe. The only problem is the power went to Negan's head. But after he lost he spent years reflecting on what he had done, and he changed. Rick spared his life and he changed. Just like you said he saved countless lives and was even willing to sacrifice himself to save the people he went to war with. But somehow that isn't enough. I just want him and Rick to finally come face to face after all of these years and Rick be the first one to reach out, shake his hand, and say thank you. Just a look and a handshake is all that is needed to convey everything needed to be said between those 2. Also when Negan brought up the Outpost you could see the dumbfounded look on Maggie's face. She even tried to rationalize it, and he was like "I know where Aaron's baby came from". Not only did they slaughter his people, they stole a baby to raise as their own. I like to believe only one of the parents were at the Outpost and the other was back at Sanctuary. They learned what happened and assumed their child and spouse were both killed. That would be one hell of a subplot if it was ever brought up.

Negan is a great character, but there is a predictability to it all now. Maggie hates his guts and will never forgive him, but she recognizes that she needs him to find her son and get off the island alive. Negan continues to explore just how tortured he is for his past deeds, but continues to be the killing machine Maggie needs him to be. Rinse and repeat.
